I have to admit, I was skeptical as to how well these would work, but I am truly so impressed! These are lightweight, no bounce, and absolutely infallible regardless as to how much I sweat! The battery life is amazing and the sound quality is top notch! My favorite feature is the bone conduction, which allows me to feel safe while out running alone as I am aware of my surroundings…but in a race situation, it also allows me to take in the sounds and cheers around me! My only regret is not having purchased these sooner!

Works great!!! Even while walking with heavy road traffic I am able to listen! The Bluetooth connection is quick. Able to raise the volume at the headphone when the volume of iphone is already maxed out. Still able to respond and listen to conversation while in use. Charging is fast and it last a long time. Even when it announces that it is getting low it still last more than any headphone I have had before. Very nice, competitive useful pretty product.

Best Headphones for All Day Use

I've had these over a year, and still wear them daily, often all day. They handle multiple devices really well, are comfortable, and the open-ear concept means I can get notifications or hear videos/messages without disturbing anyone. I can even use earplugs with them and still hear, which has been useful at work. The sound quality is good, though I'm no audiophile. I use them primarily for podcasts, calls/meetings, and mobile games. Open ear does mean the sound can be overwhelmed by ambient sounds, which is fine for music on a run but can be distracting for podcasts and calls. The shape behind the head is not very comfortable for laying down on your back, but I've worn them to sleep on my side without issue.

    Excellent headphones for specific uses

I use these for work in an office, and I have to say, I'm truly impressed by how comfortable they are for long periods of time. So there is sound bleed, if someone is close enough. Generally a third party cant make out all the words from the person on the other end, but they can tell there is sound, if there's no other background noises. So thats something to keep in mind. Taking calls and sound quality of voices is pretty excellent, and I have been told theres no trouble hearing me talk, so the mic must be pretty good as well. Listening to music, its not bad, I know it could be better, simply because I have other headphones to compare it to, but the ease of use is why you buy these, not the sound quality. After about 5 hours, I have to take them off to give my head a break, but over time, the pressure from these things really becomes harder to notice. I think the best use case is for office settings where you have to take alot of calls for a long period of time and you need maximum comfort to do so. Exercising with this, they dont move around, which was surprising, so its possible to use them for that. Personally I dont, but I did give that a test run, and they stayed right in the correct position the whole time All in all, I would recommend this to anyone 1. That requires comfort over long periods 2. Doesnt care about sound quality being the #1 thing 3. Works in an office with minimal background noise.

Not blown away by them but they perform the job i needed. Only complaints is the volume doesnt go high enough and voice (podcasts) tend to be a little on the quiet side. Voices become drowned out if there is moderate traffic noise. The proprietary charging interface is not a nice feature. If you lose the cord you are SOL. They are very comfortable but id say price is a bit high for what you get.

This is my second Shokz open run. I use is for road cycling. they fit under my helmet nicely. The sound is good. Play a lot of music. Battery lasts a long amount of time . Answering calls works out except when riding on the bike a lot of wind is created. Otherwise they do get my recommendation.

I got this one for my boyfriend, and he loves it. I also have one, the previous version, and I have to say that this is the most comfortable running headphones ever. Is lightweight, does not move, and I don't have to worry about it getting wet with sweat or rain because it is waterproof :). I just wish the sound was a little louder, but in general, the sound is clear and great.

These are perfect for walking and other activities. They fit perfectly and are comfortable. I was surprised at the sound quality. Clarity is good and volume is fine. These aren't "studio" grade earphones, you have to go in knowing that when you buy them. The set up is super easy like most other earphones. It's great finishing my walk without sweaty ears.

My bone conduction headset is fantastic! Yes it isn't super loud and if you walk into a very loud environment it will combat the volume, but nothing replaces the easy to wear nature of these headsets. They don't bother my ears, i I no longer get earwax build up like with earbud tips, I no longer get aches in my ear canals, and the best part: I feel like i gained an extra set of ears by hearing both my music and those around me!

Really have been enjoying these. I wear em everyday and the battery really lasts too. If i have any complaint its just the lack of bass but im sure its just because of the bone conducting tech. If they every release a bass boosted model, I'd be set. Used to use the Bose glasses but the battery is much better on these.

I'm giving this 5 stars, but please read the entire review. I was new to bone conduction audio and I've had these headphones now for about a month. I will say this: Privacy is top notch with these headphones for you listening. Why I love these headphones is because of my personal need to listen to a podcast, be on a conference call, or on the phone while maintaining situational awareness.... I need to hear my surroundings since I work alone and often in remote locations. These are PERFECT for my needs. They would be excellent for runners or cyclists who need to stay attentive to their surroundings. They keep working for a full day with no disappointment. The Bluetooth keeps working flawlessly between the TWO devices you can pair to. If you happen to be an audiophile - this is not the purchase for you. It's not BAD, but if audio quality is your focal point, you should not be looking at this technology to scratch that itch.

This headset is absolutely fantastic. The sound is great and the battery life has been incredible. I can use this and wear it all day without any issue or discomfort. This is one of the best purchases I have made when it comes to headphones. I would absolutely recommend this headset to anyone. I only gave it 4 stars because while it fits me perfectly I did get a pair for my wife that is ever so slightly too large for her head so make sure to test out the size in store.

I wear these everyday to work. So comfortable I forget they are on sometimes. They sound good under normal environments. If you’re somewhere loud you will have a hard time hearing a podcast or audiobook. But you’re buying these for the comfort and being able to hear things without taking them off and they do that better than anyone else. I hate ear buds that go in your ears, so these are amazing. Also can pair 2 devices at once. Nice feature that is kinda hidden. It’s in the app.

Love the flexibility and comfort. Sound is good when in a quiet to semi quiet area. When in a loud environment the sound admitting from the ear speakers is hard to music, or the person on the phone. This is my second one purchase, first one I lost.

A great updated model from Shokz

When I saw that Shokz had rebranded themselves from AfterShokz and released the updated OpenRun Pro headset I had to give them a try. Unboxing: The OpenRuns come in a nice logoed retail box and inside there’s a clamshell soft sided hard shell case and inside that is the headset very well held in and protected in a perfectly form fitting molded insert. In the other half of the clam shell there’s an elastic loop holding the proprietary USB charging cable. Also inside the box is a quick start guide, manual and card asking you download the Shokz app for either Android or IOS. Inspecting: I already have the AfterShokz OpenComm headset and really liked it, it is “was” my headset of choice when wanting to hear my surroundings. The OpenRun are really close to the same layout as the OpenComm except that there’s no boom mic and the MFC button is on the left side. The volume buttons are in the same location but are larger square switches instead of the small round orange ones of the OpenComm. The transducers of the OpenRun are larger, and there’s a grill mesh type opening on three sides of each, “front/back/bottom”, the OpenComms transducers are sealed with no openings. And the proprietary charging cable is still the same and you’ll have to make sure to keep track of it because you cannot charge them with a normal USB cable. Setting up: The new OpenRun is set up pretty much the same way, “I’m using Android so this review reflects that”. Pairing is really easy, just press/hold the + button till you hear “pairing” and pair to your phone. I tried pairing with a Google Pixel 6, Samsung S21 and a Galaxy Fold 3 and all paired without a hitch. Use: I was really happy with the OpenComm headset as I have some hearing issues and the bone conduction “for me” sounds perfectly clear for phone/voice conversations. Music was ok but sounded more “flat” with no base, and I only used them for phone calls. The new OpenRun headsets sound is much clearer, and does have more of a bass feeling than the old. The app also give you two settings for “Vocal” and “Standard” there’s no custom tweaking and hopefully Shokz will release and update that allows it. Using the app during calls and setting the app to “Vocal” calls are loud and perfectly clear. I made quite a few phone calls already and everyone thought I sounded very clear, I found that there wasn’t a need for the boom mic even when outside while it was fairly windy. Next I tried some streaming music, and set the app to “Standard”, there’s a definite difference in music quality over the OpenComm, music is a good bit clearer and there’s a definite boost in bass. It’s not earthshaking bass like you would get from OTE headphones but it’s good enough “for me” and I like having the my ears open when I need to hear things going on around in my environment “these are not noise canceling”. Conclusion: I’m really enjoying the new OpenRun headset, not having the boom mic means I don’t have to worry about that getting in the way. I so miss having it so I can simply grab onto the mic to mute it quickly if I needed to but I can easily deal with that since the sound clarity is better than the old model. Battery run time looks to be right around 10-12 hours, and I had a few very lengthy conversations that barely ran the battery down. Charging it is very quick and I could believe the manufacturer that 5 minutes gives over 1 hour of talk time. If you are looking for a new set of Bluetooth headphones and would like to keep your ears open so you can hear your surroundings then the Shockz OpenRun headset will be right up your alley. The bone conduction is sort of odd at first but you get used to it very quickly and these are so light and unobtrusive I’ve forgotten I had them on in multiple occasions.

My husband bought a pair over a year ago. Just recently he either misplaced them or someone pocketed them from his truck. Who knows, but they’ve been gone for a month. He convinced me to get a pair and that’s when I purchased one for him and I. He works construction, so I got him the pro version and I got the regular version. His is waterproof and sweat proof, extra speakers and is the ultimate headphone. Mine is just wonderful. As a mom and a full time employee, these work amazing because you’re able to be hands free, on the phone/watching a video, and still able to hear the world surrounding you. It does not hurt your ears at all! You kind of forget they are there. People will give you strange looks when you’re talking on the phone because they’re practically invisible. (Long hair helps hide it completely) 100% recommend to anyone who constantly on the phone, watching YouTube, or just ready to answer a call at anytime.

Gave these SHOKZ to my husband for his BDAY and he loves them. While the SHOKZ are mainly for his use, I utilize them for work because they drown out all of the background noises when I’m on conference calls for work. In addition, these SHOKZ are lightweight and fit perfectly behind the head and around the ears, and they pair well with all of my APPLE electronics.
