Customers are saying
Customers are positive about the sound quality, comfort, battery life, open-ear design, fit, bone conduction, and lightweight features of the OpenRun Pro Premium Bone Conduction Open-Ear Sport Headphones. They appreciate the clear and immersive sound, comfortable and secure fit, long battery life, ability to hear their surroundings, lightweight design, and innovative bone conduction technology. On the other hand, customers are negative about the volume, bass, price, connectivity, and microphone. They feel the volume could be louder, the bass is lacking, the price is high, the connectivity is unstable, and the microphone could be improved for better call quality.

The best and safest ear buds on the market.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The best overall ear buds I’ve ever had , I can still hear all things goin on around me plus still hear a call I’m on or a movie I’m watching. If you use a pair of ear plugs with them the sound is deeper but kinda defeats the purpose of still hearing your surroundings. I believe for runners they would be the best because you could still hear someone coming behind you or whatever ,Much safer for eveybody

Lightweight, great technology, specific use cases
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These Shokz OpenRun Pro Bluetooth headphones have a lot of fantastic features, but I’d wager they’re really limited to some specific use conditions. They are not great everywhere, but do excel in certain circumstances. Out of the box, the headphones have a nice storage case with a molded insert, they’re lightweight (29g), and quick and easy to get turned on and paired to your mobile device (Bluetooth 5.1). To pair, just hold the volume up (+ button) for 6 second. You’ll hear voice prompts on the headset. The charging cable is only about 2ft long, is pretty thin, and is a proprietary magnetic connection, so be sure to keep track of it otherwise you’ll struggle attempting to charge them. While charging, the led on the side of the headset is red, once fully charged it will switch to blue. The Shokz app found and connected to the headset without issue and gave some easier ways to adjust equalizer settings if you didn’t like using the buttons on the headset. There are 2 EQ settings in the application: Vocal and Standard. The Standard setting was pretty balanced for general audio, perfect for music. The vocal setting boosts some of the higher frequencies and is great for phone calls or podcasts. On Standard EQ setting, music was balanced, but flat. There is more bass in this model which is an improvement over some of the previous models, but the bass is clearer on these. If you turn the volume up too much on bass heavy music, I find the headset almost tickles me and I don’t like it. The biggest caveat: little to no privacy. Anyone with in several feet of you can hear the music you’re listening to or hear the voices on your phone call. The high frequency audio comes out of the normal speaker directed at your ear, only the lower frequencies are actually bone conduction. While this is great for running as you can blast music while still hearing your surroundings, it’s not great if you’re looking for privacy in what you’re listening to. If you listened quiet enough and had more of a cubicle or office setup at work, you could get away with no one hearing what you’re listening to, but if you’re in a shared flex space, the noise will bother others. Overall, from previous models, these have enhanced bass, better battery life, easier to use controls, and a quick charge feature (5 minute for 1.5 hours of usage). They’re also IP55 rated to protect against sweat, splashes, and raindrops. If you need a pair better suited for worse conditions than that, Shokz also makes a IP67 rated model (regular OpenRun), or even a fully submersible IP68 rated model with onboard storage for swimming (OpenSwim). If you don’t need those features, you want the latest bone conduction technology, and you’re an avid runner or sports athlete that likes to hear your surroundings, these are a fantastic purchase.

Shokz Open Run
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I use these for riding my road bike. They sound better than I expected, decent bass and mids. Also allow me to hear traffic and other riders I'm passing or are passing me. Purchased on sale for 79.00 would I pay full price? Probably not just because I'm cheap HaHa! I would purchase again

Excellent headphones
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I absolutely love these headphones! They paired with my Samsung S22Ultra. Getting phone calls is crystal clear plus I have been told people can hear me very clearly. One thing to keep in mind though, they are not noise canceling. I personally don’t care because that is not why I bought them. They have a great battery life too plus charging takes no time at all. I highly recommend them!!

Can still hear
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These are great! This is my 3rd pair. I work in commercial construction. So I have to be able to hear my surroundings. But I also must have my music to keep my sanity. These do both. The reason they are my 3rd pair is because I admit that I am really rough on things. But they seriously have taken a beating ñ.

A unique product for a unique purpose
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first bone conduction headset, and you quickly learn is that they are a different breed. Even though the OpenRun Pro has enhanced the low-end response, this technology still doesn’t give the same bass as conventional in the ear or on the ear headphones. They are marketed as sport or runner headphones because they are, in fact, a different breed. They are completely open ear which means you still hear and are aware of your environment. That’s a real need for runners, bikers, and those who need to be aware. So, what about the sound quality? As stated, the bass is adequate but still less than buds and other headphones. However, the midrange and highs are excellent. These frequencies are crisp and clear with zero muddling. Lyrics are easy to hear, and this makes for very pleasant listening. It’s pleasant enough that you easily accept the weaker low end … unless that’s the predominant feature of your music preference. There’s just no pounding bass. Built quality is top-notch. They are water-resistant but not waterproof. They are very light and comfortable. The only drawback to the behind-the-neck loop is if you are sitting and leaning back against a headrest. But hey, they’re marketed for sports use and not sofa surfing. The controls are simple, tactile, and easy to use. The charging cable does use a proprietary magnetic connection, so if you’re traveling, that means an additional cable to carry along. There’s a protective hard case provided that protects the headphones and has a nice little spot to secure the cable. The bottom line is that these are a product with specific features tailored to specific uses. If you want complete openness and total awareness of your surroundings, they are a superb choice … perhaps the best in the field.

Great audio with great situational awareness
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Shokz OPENRUN PRO premium 9th generation bone conduction open-ear sport headphones are great. I have used past generations that were good, but these go beyond anything I have heard so far. They have two added bass enhancers (TurboPitch™ Technology) with excellent situational awareness along with a super comfortable open-ear fit. OpenRun Pro sends vibrations into your inner ear through LeakSlayer™ technology to reduce sound leakage, leaving your ears open for good situational awareness while still providing private listening. The OpenRun Pro uses 9th generation bone conduction (Shokz TurboPitch™️ with built-in CoreCushion low frequency enhancement technology) and gives better bass than other bone conduction headphones I have used. One size seems to "fit all" without need for interchangeable earpieces and the fit is very comfortable for me (also they are SO LIGHT WEIGHT). The titanium "frame" is small, flexible, attractive, durable, unobtrusive and easy to pack. The OpenRun Pro has an IP55 water-resistant rating and handled my sweat with no problems. I got over 10 hrs. of play time from a charge (they can also be quick charged for extended use). It is great they have a long play time because you can wear them for a long time!!! – NICE!

Outstanding headset, cutting corners now
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent headset. Fully recommend this to anyone who is active or wants to listen to music/talk while working. It's important to note these are not designed to offer you the best quality sound that rivals some of the best earphones out there. This is a compromise between good (just not great) sound and functionality. I have owned a pair that was from AfterShokz prior to the name change and I was very impressed with the product. I consider myself a closet audiophile and this product offers the perfect balance of good sound with the functionality desired for a safer, active lifestyle. Tl;Dr: Great product. Good sound, just not great. Not meant to provide the best quality sound but compared to something from Sennheiser, Apple, or Sony. 4/5 since the company is clearly starting to cut corners with fewer included accessories. Setup: Quick and easy. There's an app for further control which is nice and allows for further controls beyond the norm. Fit: I have at least an average sized and normal shaped head. The standard fit was perfect. Compared to the previous Aeropex which had two sizes and was overall a poorer fit, they have improved significantly with this model. Use: Great battery, I used it for 3 hours continuous without fatigue then left it on for 3 more hours at maximum volume (for testing) and the battery did not run out. The sound quality is excellent for bone conduction. With a background in understanding the difference between bone and air conduction, I am very impressed. It's extremely impressive to offer such a product at this price point. For music, I used this during a workout and then during outdoor work. Having the ability to maintain my situational awareness is extremely beneficial. The level of safety that increases with this product is quite impressive. For talking, the same applies. I am able to do my outdoor work without being isolated from the surrounding environment. Overall: I highly recommend this product. I do not believe they are heading in the right direction but cutting simple things like an additional charging cable and wall plug. This is a non-proprietary charger so losing the extra cable is quite unfortunate. For the price, they a subpar in sound and performance to the best headphone / earphone companies. However, for the product, they are impressive. Cutting corners is a step in the wrong direction.
