The Shokz OpenRun headphones exceeded my expectations. The bone-conduction design is incredibly comfortable - I can listen to music, take calls, and still stay fully aware of my surroundings. The fit is lightweight and secure, perfect for running, working out, or walking the dogs without any slipping. Sound quality is impressive for open-ear headphones, with clear audio and surprisingly good bass. Battery life is strong and easily lasts through long workouts or a full day of use. Bluetooth connection is instant and stable every time. If you want comfortable, safe, and durable headphones that let you stay aware while still enjoying great audio, the OpenRun is absolutely worth it. Highly recommend!

    Best tech I've used

These surprised me big time impressions have been very good. Sound quality is clear I can hear instruments/vocals like regular earbuds and I actually prefer the sound as it's more spatial versus regular earbuds. Some bass is lost through vibrations but that's to be expected considering it's going through flesh/bone. Super comfortable... I actually forget I have them on at times I can go 6hrs with them on with no complaints. These crank pretty high in volume anyone that says their not loud enough has other hearing issues or is standing next to loud machinery. Only noticable sound vibrations come at last two volume settings that are very loud which I don't even use. The audible audrey voice notification is nice, she voices out the status of the battery/pairing etc. neat feature. Call quality is excellent I can hear people fine and people who talk to me don't realize I'm using a bone conduction headset. Bluetooth has been flawless no disconnects I've been using mostly spotify they seem to have a 20ft bluetooth range using a lg phone. Battery wise I much prefer the magnetic charging port over conventional usb c etc. it snaps together by itself when in proximity. Does away with the worry of damaging ports from plugging in power connections over and over. Charges fast under 2hrs full charge and does seem to hold up to the 8hr advertised use maybe more with different volumes. Overall good tech for the price although my nitpick is it's best to get a sturdier case for travel they can be found for around 10$ the silicon case they come with doesn't do much to protect the headset.

I’m very satisfied with this product. The sound quality is much better than I expected — clear, crisp, and balanced even at medium volume. They are very comfortable to wear for long periods of time, fit perfectly, and don’t cause any discomfort, which makes them ideal for work, workouts, or daily use. The battery life is excellent, and the connection is fast and stable. The design is modern, lightweight, and practical. Highly recommended — great value for the price. I would definitely buy them again.

These headphones are great. First of all, they sound great. They are great for listening to audio books and music alike. There isn't too much "noise bleed" from them so I could easily listen to them in bed next to my sleeping partner. They sit comfortably on my head and cause no discomfort, even when used for hours at a time. The battery on them lasts a pretty good while. I am always impressed about how long I can go between charges. They connect easily to any device I have tried to pair them with. I have had no connectivity issues either.

For the audiophiles first. Go buy something else. This is not for you. Audio quality is good, not great by any means, however I don't believe that is the purpose here. For the last 25 years I have not had hearing in my right ear due to a surgery. The first time I played a song with these headphones my mind was blown. I can actually hear sound out of an ear I am deaf in. Now this may or may not be you, but I highly recommend finding out. The fit is snug, but not tight. It is NOT comfortable laying down in and you cannot adjust the band. I have not run with them yet, but don't see how that will be an issue as they weigh next to nothing. Seriously, this headset feels the same weight as ONE of my Galaxy buds. Charging time is slow but thankfully they come with two chargers. I leave one at home and one at my office. I also ran them for 5 hours yesterday and am still sitting at 60% battery. Overall they are very well built, very well designed as well. Only gripe is that I wish the headband were adjustable, but I understand why it is not. The pressure on your cheekbone needs to be just right for these to work. All in all I am super happy and looking forward to what this company does next.

The best bone conduction headset so far

First off, this sounds incredible for a bone conduction headset. Mids and highs are amazing and crisp, and voice is perfect. It's very comfortable for long periods, has a decent 8 hour charge, and is water/sweatproof. On the other hand, no bone conduction headset is going to sound as good as a good headset or earbuds - the sound is going through your flesh and bone to get to the inner ear, and bass is dampened. I estimate this gets down to 40Hz instead of 20Hz like most headphones (really good ones will do 5-6Hz). But, for that tradeoff, you get to hear what's going on all around you, which is fantastic if you're biking, walking, or running and you don't want to be one of those completely oblivious twits. You can hear that car coming, or even another bike. It's also much more comfortable than a headset or earpods - it just sits over your ears, like glasses, so you don't need to worry about sweat and fatigue. I wear these all the time while walking and biking - I just boost the bass on my phone equalizer, which helps quite a bit, and accept the remaining bass loss just because these are simply the best thing you can use outside.

Easy to pair and use. Appreciate the actual button for controlling playback rather than a touch sensitive control. Quality of sound is good, maybe a bit bass heavy. Very clear for listening to podcasts/audiobooks while exercising. Water resistance is good. Bought to use while paddle boarding and has been great.

I've had these and the two other models of Trekz bone conduction headphones. These, by far, are the best of the group. They are so lightweight. They never hurt my head or ears. The sound quality has dramatically improved over the last ones. Battery life is excellent. Someone somewhere mentioned they didn't like the magnetic charger, but I love it. My headphones have never fallen off of it. Not sure how that would happen unless you knocked them off. It comes with two chargers, which is nice. I keep one in my purse and one at home. Of the three models, I would not but the titanium at all, and if you can afford these, this is what you should get because of the sound quality compare to the model just below this one. I don't regret anything about this purchase. Super happy with them. I'll try not to take them off in public bathrooms and accidentally leave them there since that's what happened to my previous set. Oops, but that tells you how lightweight they really are.

Best all-around all-day wearing sound solution

This is not your average ordinary "earbud". It has a very different and unique use case which perhaps the low rating from Consumer Reports is not fair in comparing apples to apples. I have purchased numerous (25 +) headsets/earbuds over the past several year. Most of my purchases have been higher end such as Apple, Beats, Bose, Jabra, Jaybird, etc. I use wireless earbuds all day and even at night to help me sleep. In my opinion, there is no perfect earbud. I wish I could combine certain features into the ultimate earbud. I was very skeptical buying the AfterShokz Aeropex but extremely glad I tried because they are hands-down my favorite earbud. I currently have 5 major use cases for earbuds. 1. General All-Purpose Walk-Around earbuds 2. Listen to Music and drowned everything out buds 3. sleeping earbuds. 4. water resistant workout/walk/run/bike earbuds 5. conference call and business application buds. The Aeropex fits 1, 4 and 5 of my uses above any earbud I've every owned. The AFterShoz are extremely versatile and now my go-to buds that I use the most (replacing my AirPod Pros). What makes the Aftershokz great is I can wear them all day sometimes even having to feel around my neck to make sure they are there. There’s absolutely no ear fatigue since they do not go into the ear or ear canal. They are great because unlike other in-ear buds, I can hear everything around me and not have to take them in and out when someone comes up to talk or I divert my attention to something else. This is a great feature at the office, home, in the car or going to the store. These are also great for business calls. They are fantastic for working out especially running and biking where you need situational traffic awareness of your surroundings. They also are low profile and do not create an air vortex while biking. This is an issue with the Bose and Jabra which stick out of the ear. These are not my buds that I use to immerse myself in music. They are fine for listening to music while working, but I turn to my Bose or AirPod Pros if I want to relax to music. These are absolutely the best solution for podcasts. They are not as good for sleeping in or laying down. I use my Beats X for that since they have a very small in-ear bud. The water resistance very good and withstands the shower. They sync up quickly and easily with my iPhone. Pros - Extremely comfortable and surprisingly feather weight. Forget you have them on. - All day wearable with no ear fatigue - Great battery life - Multiple applications and uses. Best “All-Around” general use purpose. - Don’t have to take them in-and-out or off-and-on to talk with someone - Great battery life - Can use conventional earplugs to block out external sounds if needed - IP67 water resistance rating - Stays in place while active. - Very low profile. Not as noticeable to others when wearing. - Very little sound leakage (the sound can’t be heard by someone standing next to you) Cons - Battery takes 2 hours to fully charge - No way to turn of the notification beep that indicates you’ve been disconnected from your BT device - Battery notification only has high, med, and low indicators. Would be better to have power percentages in 20% increments - Bluetooth signal reception is not as strong as advertised. - Has a some physical vibration at the sound levels 9 and 10. Level 8 is sufficient for most uses. Not a deal breaker. - Switching between low and high modes is a bit difficult (pressing two buttons at once) while wearing and does not indicate the mode you changed to - Battery level indicator only has three levels (high, medium and low). Would be better with percentages in 20% increments. - Not as portable as true earbuds. - Sometimes you can’t tell that you have them on and have to physically feel for them to see if you are wearing Applications Great for: - Podcasts - Biking, running and walking (there is no wind vortex sound created like with other earbuds and has the best situational awareness hands down) - Sports practice (football, baseball, basketball, etc.) - Business setting, shopping, general walking around day-to-day use. - Phone calls (surprisingly good microphones) - Driving (if legal in your state) (again, you can hear your surroundings at the proper sound level while using) Good for: - Showering (IP67) - Music (fine for most people while exercising and working at the office) Not good for: - hard core music lovers - Bench pressing during weight training - Lying down flat - Sleeping - Teenagers looking to drown everyone out around them while listening to music Bottom Line: These are very worth trying. I was skeptical at first but highly highly recommend for the uses mentioned above. They are now my absolute favorite general all-purpose wear all-day sound solution. It is a very unique product with a very cool sound projection. The experience is similar to having your phone on speaker, but with much better, louder and clearer sound. They are great for business, shopping, running, biking, etc. Great taking phone calls, listening to music and podcasts while working throughout the day. You can use convention earplugs with these headphones if you’d like to block out the sound around you. If you’re looking for something to immerse yourself in music, look at Bose or AirPods Pro. If you’re looking for something that immerses yourself in music while working out and won’t fall out of your ear, check out PowerBeats3. If you’re looking for something to use to fall asleep, check out Beats X.

I have had openrun for 2 years and have family and friends who have them and all but one are satisfied. One wanted to get the mini instead of regular. Good sound, volume, quality, a little slow to charge imo. Lasts 8-10 hours depending on volume. Great over the ear Bluetooth headset. Good water protection, comfortable, and will buy again when they eventually break.

This is my first pair of aftershokz bone conduction headphones and I must say "I love them" The sound is amazing and unless you have it maxed out no one can hear anything except for you. At home my wife was sitting right next to me and couldn't hear anything. Super lightweight and very comfortable! I love that they are water resistant and have an awesome battery life.

My work doesn't allow headphones for safety and awareness reasons. They are looking into allowing this type of headphones. So I got these to try them out and be ready for when I can use them at work. They are light and not uncomfortable. Have worn them for up to 12+ hours (length of my work shift). They are clean and clear sounding. There is not much low end though, if you want Bass then this technology is not for you - at least not yet. No low end punch at all. Because of this music does not always sound full and encompassing. Music with lots of orchestration and full range of tones/sounds feel empty/lacking. One of my favorite songs for testing audio is 'Gateway' by Delerium. The clarity and detail of the rain and mid upper ranges was beautiful; but the drive from the lower end that completes and fulfills the song is missing. Still great for listening to audio books, and songs with focus on vocals. I had a great time going around the house the night I got these singing along with my favorite songs as I was testing them out, sampling what they were capable of. For songs/music that the Bass is needed I will use my on/over ear headphones. Listening to an audio book with pauses and all, the battery lasted a little more than 10 hours. Set up and controls are simple, easy and accessible. Only a few days and pause/volume are almost subconscious and reflexive. When work authorizes use of these I my get a second set so I can listen to music the full shift. Just have to be a little more aware of what music I select for my Playlist when using these.

The Shokz OpenRun has been one of the most impressive audio devices I’ve used; easily standing out as a top-tier wireless listening solution, especially for active lifestyles. What really sets it apart is its exceptional battery life. It comfortably lasts through an entire marathon run without needing a recharge, which speaks volumes about its reliability during long workouts or outdoor activities. The open-ear, bone conduction design is another major advantage, it allows you to stay aware of your surroundings while still enjoying audio, making it ideal for running, cycling, or even just walking around busy areas. Unlike traditional earbuds or headphones, it doesn’t cause any ear fatigue or discomfort, even after extended use. That level of comfort is rare and makes a noticeable difference if you’re using it regularly. I’ve been so impressed with the experience that I’ve gifted it to more than half a dozen friends and family members and the feedback has been consistently positive. Everyone appreciates the combination of comfort, safety, and performance. It’s one of those products that, once you try it, quickly becomes hard to go without.

These OpenRun Bone Conduction headphones are just what I needed. I suffer from Tinnitus and these headphones allow me to listen to sounds be it white noise or music, etc. that “mask” my tinnitus without completely covering it up like regular headphones or buds, which over time helps to get used to that awful buzzing in my ear/ head. You can hear ambient noise all the while which makes these headphones good for using outdoors running, biking etc. or anywhere that you want to remain aware of what’s going on around you. The sound quality is very good, just don’t expect deep bass sounds because these headphones were not designed for that purpose. Easy to connect, great battery life, and comfortable. If anything I described above is what you’re looking for, get these Shokz - you won’t be disappointed.

These are my third set, the first two being 'Aftershokz' models prior to their rebranding to Shokz. These are by far the best, more water resistant, great quality and comfortable to wear of all those I tried. The technology has come very far. Easy controls allow for pausing music, answering calls, volume control and power on and off. Great battery life, and love the magnetic charge cable. It helps keep these from being affected by sweat and water. Purchased a set for my lovely bride, and she wears them all day at work. I tell people that it's nice to have a soundtrack playing for my life all of the time. I like being able to hear my surroundings while still listening to my music and podcasts. Highly recommend these!

I purchased these S a gift for my brother, after buying myself a pair the week before. They charge quickly and last all day long. I'm a New Yorker, and appreciate the fact that I can listen to my music while still being aware of my surroundings. I'm amazed at the sound coming through my bones. They're extremely light, comfortable, and discreet, so I can enjoy my music while in class or having a conversation. No one else can hear the music. I would definitely recommend to others.

These have better sound than the other models but still lack in certain ways. The volume needs to be louder with better base. The pickups when speaking need to be much better. I’ve been told it sounds as if I’m in a tunnel. The fit is good as is the connectivity. But for the price they should be better.
