I have had the opportunity to use these headphones while taking a quick swim and even in the shower. The open ear concept- bone conduction concept tech is something very foreign to me so i was very skeptical. DESIGN The actual design of the headphones and semi-flexible neck band is very comfortable. The actual bone conduction speaker sits on the outside of your ear-for guys right by the side-burn. It is very lightweight and sits securely around your ear to keep it from moving around while swimming or even running. I have used it to run because i like the open ear concept as i believe you should be listening to all the sounds around you for your safety. The controls are placed in very easy to get to places even for someone with fat fingers like me. SOUND The sound is a bit different if you are used to listening to earbuds or noise cancelling headphones. The sound is a bit more of an echo-ish feel while running because of the open ear concept and bone conduction technology. It does sound loud enough while listening to music or pod cast while not sacrificing the surrounding sounds. SWIMMING The bone conduction technology really is something else, while swimming and plugging your ear canal with ear plugs you can "hear" the sound even though it is resonating via the vibrations, it does not sound at all like typical earbuds but it is playing underwater. It does do a great job allowing you listen to your music or podcast while under the water. The biggest hassle is downloading mp3 format music or podcasts to the 32mb memory. I have music already in that format from my old days of buying music. I wouldn't even know where to download mp3 nowadays. It is something to be aware of, MP3 for swimming and bluetooth for running. POWER The power cable is easy to connect and charge and the battery lasts as long as i need to swim, about an hour or so, i don't spend more time than that in the water. I haven't had them die out on me when i need them. The biggest takeaway is the sound is very good and it is very hard for me to criticize it when i keep reminding myself they work while swimming. I definitely recommend these for those that want to enjoy sound while swimming or while running. I enjoy them more for running to be honest.

I was a little bit hesitant to try these Shokz because my first experience with a Shokz headset was not very good. I found them uncomfortable to wear for any period of time. Plus, it took some getting used to bone conduction sound. These SWIMPRO, however, are another story. They are indeed comfortable to wear. And the sound is great - rich sound, with all the benefits of one conduction (you do not have to put them in your dirty ears, you can still hear sounds around you for better situational awareness/safety reasons, and this model has the added benefit of being made to wear in the pool. The package contains a set of regular ear plugs which I found necessary to achieve the great sound while underwater. There are two modes for playing music: Bluetooth and MP3 (the headset has a folder with about 30GB of space for storing music MP3 files). What you want to do in the water will dictate which mode you want to use. When I first stuck my head underwater, I was surprised at the richness of the sound. I did find, however, that submersing my head more than about six inches underwater would break the Bluetooth connection. This could prove to be a challenge if the connection is lost for too long and does not automatically reconnect - you would have to swim to the phone/music source and restart your playlist. The same goes for talking on a phone call. However, thanks to the MP3 mode, you can download a playlist into the headset and not have to worry about connectivity. That would be my preferred mode if I were going to plan to be in the water for a long time. The specs clearly say that they are not meant to be submerged "up to two meters for up to two hours" thanks to the IP68 rating. These headphones are not made for snorkeling or SCUBA. Swimming is not the only time I might get wet - these can be used for exercising when I expect to be very sweaty and do not want to worry about damaging expensive headphones. Overall, these Shokz OPENSWIM headphones are a real find and I do not hesitate to recommend them.

If you work outside or anywhere that requires hearing protection these are the headphones you've always wanted. Waterproof and fairly sturdy. They fit under a hardhat. You can wear them with earplugs in. The battery will get you through a work day without any trouble. This one can be submerged in water too so if they get dropped in a puddle it's no problem. They're also great for hanging out at the lake/pool but for me, I can't look up without them falling off so actual swimming is out. Also, the sound quality is not exceptional. Its good and loud but not audiophile quality. It sounds just a little bit muffled. The good far outweighs the bad though. Definitely recommend if you find yourself wanting to listen but there's a chance you could get submerged and/or need to wear hearing protection. Be aware these come with a proprietary charging cable. It's really nice but if anything happens to it you're stuck until you find a new one.

TL;DR: 1. SETUP: Turn on the Shokz OpenSwim Pro’s, make sure your phone is in Bluetooth Pairing Mode, tap on “OpenSwim Pro by Shokz” and you’re connected. 2. USE: At first, you can feel them “hug” your jaw. Within a few seconds, they’re not really noticeable. Within a couple minutes, I forgot they were on. 3. USABILITY: I’ve worn them in the pool and on walks. I have about 5 hours on them so far and haven’t needed to recharge them after the initial charge. They work well for sports, podcasts, music and phone calls. 4. OVERALL: They are light and functional. These will work for what I initially intended them for - which is for activities, including swimming, biking, hiking and walks at work - they have excellent weather resistance.
A coworker uses the OpenRun Pro’s almost exclusively. He prefers them to buds, as he has lost more than one pair of those. He enjoys these, as he can loop them around his neck when not I use. I kept asking how the battery life and sound. He kept saying both were “excellent”. So, I’ve kept eyeing them for just over a year and have asked a bunch of questions. I liked the OpenRun Pro’s, but wanted something a little more weather resistant, as I have been in unexpected downpours, as well as wanting to be able to take them on the water (specifically kayaking). I wanted something that I could listen to a variety of different things for personal (podcasts, music, YouTube/Social Media) and professional (phone calls and conference calls) use. I also wanted to be able to stream media that the OpenRun Pro could do, but the OpenSwim could not ( you have to download what what you to them prior to using - so no streaming). Then came the OpenSwim Pro…it has everything that I wanted, so I ordered them. I just recently received them and have used them over the past few days. When I first put them on, they were a little awkward, mainly because I am used to earbuds, specifically Apple’s AirPods Pro 2. Within a short time, I didn’t even realize I had them on. I made and received a few calls and no one knew what I was using. When I asked, everyone thought I was inside my office or parked in my car. I haven’t used them in windy conditions, but I haven’t had any complaints in normal conditions. When it comes to sound quality, they are very clear - whether it is on dry land or in the water. Even with the equalizer function, they are not audiophile quality by any stretch of the imagination, but they are clear and distortion free; you can hear everything well. On my iPhone 15 Pro, I use voice isolation, which also aids in the call clarity. Most of the functions and navigation are on the left “ear bud”,” including the propriety charging port. There is a multifunction button for things like Siri and Hey Google on the right side. I am happy with these, especially for their sports functionality. I will continue using them complementing my earbuds, which offer a different set up options.

The Shokz Open Swim Pro headphones are the perfect headphones for triathletes. They are a great upgrade from the originals. I have been using Shokz headphones since they were called AfterShokz and the originals came out. They are the best headphones for outdoor exercise because they are the safest type of headphones. You want your ears open so you can hear cars, other people, animals, trains, and whatever else you may encounter on an outdoor activity. -Sound I’ll get this out of the way. They are bone conduction headphones. You will not find deep heavy bass. The sound is great for what they are. Each iteration of the Shokz I’ve used has made the sound better. -Features This is where the Pro got so much better, the addition of Bluetooth. Why would the first model not have had Bluetooth? Because if you are swimming in open water or large pools, your phone may be out of Bluetooth range. The first version was MP3 only, these are much more versatile. If you are a triathlete, these are the open ear headphones for you. No worries about changing headphones because these will work on the swim, bike, and run! -Battery The battery life is great, just like the Open Run Pro, I only need to charge these about once every 10 days with usage 4-5 times per week. There is an audio prompt that will tell you the approximate battery level -high, medium, or low. I would absolutely recommend these to anyone who likes to listen to music, podcasts or books but still needs to be able to hear the world around them. They are great for people who don’t swim too since they are so waterproof.

good sound quality, really a game changer being able to listen to music underwater. it makes me want to swim more. i was worried it would slip off during swimming but i had no issues even doing flip turns while swimming 20+ laps. it stayed on my head even without a cap on, which is nice. however half of the songs i uploaded are data error, which could be my fault, but there’s no way to check which songs contain data error. It is annoying for less than 100 songs and downright impossible if there was actually the max of 8000 songs downloaded.

Most Amazing part is this will not come off. My primary use is for hard swim sets. They do not come off while flip turning. They do not come off while doing water polo drills. Bluetooth feature does not work underwater, but that's not an issue since I've purchased many songs on iTunes so I set it to MP3 mode. They do have a unique charging cable that only connects to computers using a USB A port. Playing Futbol and Basketball is different with music. I can listen to music and also hear my teammates communicate. Overall these headphones are a must if you want to listen to music while staying active .

These bone conduction. Headphones are amazing. Not only is the sound great, but I can still hear what around me. Great for drivers so you can hear on the road. The best part my ear are not obstructed. For me the constant covering of my ears including using inner ear buds causes ear infections and colds. This way I can enjoy my music, talk on the phone while being connected to my surroundings without affecting my ears. An absolute great buy. Te open swim version has a onboard memory so you can play your music without your phone. Connects to two devices. Can't go wrong Highly recommend.

Shokz continues to excel in both bone conductive and other headphone technologies. Although I was skeptical about the quality, especially underwater, these flat out deliver. Now, be sure to read the fine print, because bluetooth does not transmit through water (that's a bluetooth thing, not a headphones thing) but if using the built-in MP3 storage, which is more than adequate, you can spend a couple hours in the pool and still have plenty of music to keep you logging laps. Fit and finish of the headphones is elegant and unobtrusive, and in no way interferes with typical swim goggles and insignificantly with sunglasses. Sound quality rivals higher-end, non-waterproof headphones, and you can still keep an ear out for whistles or other water-oriented environmentals. Definitely worth the premium price.

I love these ear phones !! Would 100 recommend if you are an advent swimmer or run . I do both on my workout days and I use my headphones all the time !! Great speakers and noise cancellation is amazing. I use my headphones when I go take my dogs to the dog park and they are so comfortable and do not move at all when I run . Very good sound quality too and super easy to use

I really like these headphones because they've been great for my swim workouts. The one thing that bothers me about them is the fact that they are looser in the back. Otherwise the sound quality is great and they are pretty comfortable. I really appreciate not having anything inside my ear with these and they aren't super bulky either which is a huge plus. Overall I'd say these are a solid buy if you swim a lot.

The sound isnt as good as the openrun, but that is way compensated by the fact i can use it in the pool and the shower for podcasts and music. Veru comfortable and the sound is still great even if its not as good as the open run. I have both and use them each for what they are best for. Very happy with my purchase.

I use these headphones daily while listening to podcasts and the news. Because it has such a broad range, I can leave my phone in the house or plugged in on the patio and work nearly anywhere in the yard. Occasionally the headphones do start to run down, so I bought a second pair. They’re not in my ears to interfere with my ability to use my phone, love that about them. And they have an easy-to-use magnetic charging interface that doesn’t have an annoying little “door” that must be moved out of the way to plug it in. Do yourself a favor and stop walking around with your phone held to your ear or digging into your purse or pocket to answer it, and buy a pair of these comfortable headphones. Or two.

They work really well. They don’t fall off when I go on runs and they work great underwater. The only downside that I can see with them is that the wire in the back can get in the way when working out. For example whenever I bench the wire presses against the bench and moves a bit, but otherwise they preform really well.
