Most of the other shooter movie plots throw in some random character with no background and let him run wild shooting up things/people. But not Shooter...the plot is isnt too complex but also puts you on the seat thinking what is the next move. One of Mark Wahlberg's best performances.

This is a fun action movie from the director of training day. It has an interesting plot with political espionage and conspiracy mixed in with good action beats. It reminds me of some of the 80's movies in which the hero takes justice and law into his own hands. Overall, it was an entertaining movie to watch, much better than some of the action movies that we get today.

There are several male actors that I love to watch because of their looks and/or their acting, and I will usually buy any movie that they are in. Mark Wahlberg is one of these actors for me, so I was excited when Shooter was available on DVD. Fortunately, I decided to rent it first before buying it. I liked the actors, the plot, and the action, but Mark Wahlberg spoke so softly and often slurred or mumbled his words that I had trouble understanding what he was saying. And a lot of the dialogue was in military jargon - codes, numbers, abbreviations - and I had no idea what they were talking about. I started the movie over a few times and turned up my volume to see if it helped which it didn't. Then I finally changed the setup to include subtitles and watched the whole movie while I read them. That is the only way I could understand what the characters were saying which is annoying. Good actors and good action are not enough to make a 4 star movie, and Shooter proves it. I would watch it again but I won't buy it.

I bought this movie as a gift for my Husband we are big fans of Mark Wahlberg,We really enjoyed watching the movie,If you a fan of Mark Wahlberg this is a movie to add to your collection.

This movie is a great one. The plot constantly keeps you guessing and the action is awesome. The blu-ray has some great extras that show a great insight into what it took to make the movie...I found it very interesting.

Great Movie with great special effects. The only thing that was kinda stupid was the relationship he develops with his old dead friends wife; Kinda random and slowed the plot down a little, but overall a wonderful movie!!

great movie, probably Mark Whalberg's best movie ever. I can watch it over and over and over and still be amazed by it and I will never get tired of it as long as I live. I would no doubt reccommend this to a friend

SHOOTER is a movie about a Marine Scout Sniper (that in it self is awsome) who gets set up by the US government and trys to get even on the people who set him up. It has a great story, and good action.

Shooter is the type of movie you watch when there’s nothing else to do, on a Saturday night. The film is full of endless clichés; the man who’s framed, the cop (in this case FBI agent) who helps him, and far-fetched situations among other things. This film doesn’t have anything fresh to bring to the genre, but I must admit I had a good time, even with the obvious political message the director was trying to get across. The performances were mediocre at best, I’m not a big fan of Wahlberg because he always tries to play the “bad boy” and that ship has sailed. Danny Glover on the other hand should have been nominated for most annoying performance of the year. Overall, this film is second rate and there are so many better films that have the same concept. I would barely recommend it just because of the action.

This is one of those movies that you would not like to miss a second. It's one of the greatest movies you could ever see. I trully recommend this Outstanding movie for those who like the best.

In every respect this is a well-acted and choreographed moving-picture that is absolutely believable – it’s also entertaining. Lots of conspiracy, corruption and it’s also a well-told story of a great scout-sniper

While I found this movie somewhat predictable at times, it is -without a doubt- a "must see", especially for those who enjoy fast-paced, edge-of-your-seat action movies.

Grab a bag because you're going to be picking up a lot of empty shells on the ground this is a real jam packed action movie

Before seeing this movie, I didn't watch that many action movies, but this movie changed that. Great movie, great plot. You have to see this movie

I was looking forward to seeing this movie when I bought it, but it was a pretty big disappointment. Danny Glover was awful as the "villain," I liked him in the Lethal Weapon movies but this was a stretch for him. The biggest letdown of the movie for me was the ending. I won't give it away, but it was a real lazy way to end this picture. I know the movie was based on a book and maybe that's how the book ends, but I still think it deserved a better ending. It's entertaining, but not worth seeing more than once.
