Not a big fan of scary movies but I liked this one.

This is definitely a movie for the men in my family.

Not the greatest movie if you're a Decapreo fan. Can be kinda boring at parts and predictable. Wouldn't buy if it cost more than 5$.

The Blu-ray was cheap so I purchased it, but after seeing it for the second time I'm still not a big fan of the film as a whole.

Decent flick, but certainly not on the same level as other Dicaprio/ Scorcese movies. It felt way longer than it needed to be.

Sound was horrible had to turn it up to hear. Might have been a bad dvd. The movie itself overall was good.

Movie plot is predictable & slow paced. Movie could have been shorter.

The movie was slow to start, and took forever for all of it to come together. The last 15 minutes of the movie was worth 2 stars. Enjoy some cocktails and visit with friends while watching, cause you're not missing much.

I'm a big fan of the book, and was very curious as to how it would adapt to film. Martin Scorsese hits a homerun with this thriller about a detective who arrives at an insane asylum to track down a missing inmate. However, it soon becomes aparent that the detective has another, darker agenda. This is a bleak movie with terrific acting and a wonderful story. Very much a thinking person's thriller, Shutter Island almost commands multiple viewings to catch every nuance that goes on throughout the film. The movie can be a bit slow at times. If you're looking for hardcore action, look elsewhere. The plot builds slowly and deliberately. Every question is eventually answered in its own sweet time- some of the answers had audience members behind me saying "this is totally sick." This is the best thriller to come around in ages. I wish there were movies out there like this! Terrific!

This is not what I thought it would be. I figured it was some kind of super-natural thriller from the ads I saw, but it was not. This movie kept me guessing from the very start and I was completely surprised by the ending. The acting was great and I never saw a lot of the things coming, but my family and I really enjoyed it!! The whole setting of the Mental hospital and some of its staff were really creepy. I highly recommend this movie!! I thought Leo DeCaprio was better in this than some of his other works!!

This is probably one of Scorsese's most underrated films. Audiences are basically stuck in the mind of Dicaprio's character until the end at which point they feel like they missed out on the truth the entire time and feel a little dazed and confused. It is only when you see the film a second time do you realize the subtle clues you missed due to Scorsese confining you to the mind of Dicaprio's character throughout the film. The two bonus features are nice to see and provide some shocking and interesting information on mental health providers in the 1950's. Recommended if you like cerebral, crime-noir films or just a fan of Scorsese.

This movie is a masterpiece one of my favorite movies i have ever seen. There is action, suspense, and mystery that keep you on the edge of your seat for the entire movie. DiCaprio is at his best in this movie and shines from the beginning to the end. With a twist at the end of the movie you would have never seen coming buying Shutter Island will be one of the smartest choices you have ever made.

I saw this movie at the theater, but could'nt wait to see the blueray. It was wonderful. It was such a complex story, I could watch it again, and again. Wonderfully done.

Any Leonardo Di'Caprio movie is awesome. He is my 1 or 2 favorite actors. I watch this movie in theaters and was left confused. I thought about it the rest of the day and mind was blown. Must owned. Brilliant actor.

One of my favorite Scorcese films. It stars Leonardo DiCaprio and his partner going to an island for the insane looking for a person who has gone missing. The story goes down a twisting turning path where you aren't sure what is going to happen next.
