    Sicario: Day of the Soldado loses points only because of how intense and truly frightening the first one was. That’s not to say this one was bad and it did have its moments. Benicio del Toro gives us a great performance in the sense that less is more. It’s truly his movie. Josh Brolin however is great as well, but when the US government agents interfere in their operation is when Brolin’s character gets sidelined. Missing also in this film is overwhelmed and flabbergasted Emily Blunt’s character and her partner. Great movie that landed just shy of the first film’s brilliance. Highly recommended.
