Customers are saying

Customers admire the Universal Attachment for Roku® Streaming Player Remote for its easy setup, convenience, and the ability to control both the Roku and TV with one remote. The programmable buttons and volume control are also well-received features. However, some users find the attachment to be bulky and covering the headphone jack, while others mention that programming the buttons can be a bit tricky.

Finally a remote attachment that unifies my LG TV, Samsung Sound Bar, and Roku Stick! Set this up in about 5 mins but please remember to be strategic on how you prefer to setup your buttons in coordination with the Roku remote. Absolutely a must get for getting rid of other needed remotes.

I bought one of these about a year ago for our living room and just got another one for a secondary room. Easy to use and allows you to control basic functions on your TV and/or receiver/soundbar, etc. so you don't need multiple remotes unless you need to program things, etc. Excellent range as well! I replaced a universal remote I had purchased that had poor range with this little clip-on and have never regretted it.

Albeit an overpriced addition to your Roku, it's a wonderful add-on that eliminates the need for a second remote.

this thing is awesome! super easy to program... had it out of the box & working with my tv in just a couple minutes. extra buttons to program for other tv functions is really cool feature. the only thing i don't like about it is i wish there was a way to still connect headphones, but not really a deal breaker. it's pretty easy to snap off/on if you want to use headphones. & the sidekick remote still works when it's not connected to the roku remote.

Easy set up for me and device easy enough to transition my wife to streaming. She likes better than the AppleTV -which surprised me as thei Aplple devices have proven to be the only electronic devices she uses easily.

If you have a more complex TV set-up, this is highly recommended. It is easy to program and adds the additional buttons needed for non-streaming/TV related uses. An example is that we have an AV receiver for sound but the remote will program the volume to the TV speakers. By having this, I can program my AV receiver as well as use the A/B buttons for my gaming system input.

Wasn't sure about these at first, but I figured with Bose, there really wasn't much of a risk. Sure enough, these things sound great. They get a good bass sound for their size. Would highly recommend!

If you don't already have a logitech harmony and just need a simple universal remote to control tv power and volume, this is fantastic. I was originally going to get another harmony smart remote, but got this on sale for much less and it is exactly what I needed. It operates as expected, easy to program additional buttons for menu functions, and is also easy for any non-tech person visiting my home to operate.

The SideClick remote for Roku devices is, overall, a good product. That being said, it's fairly easy to program if you follow the directions. I've only programmed it to control our TV, and I'm not sure if you can program it for more than one device. I suppose you can program any of the buttons to operate any other device, as each button is programmed separately. Meaning, I can program the power button to turn on my TV, but program the volumes buttons to operate my sound bar. You'll understand when you read the programming directions. The drawbacks for this remote aren't such a detriment to the overall rating that I'd consider not recommending it. My main complaint is the angle and distance you can be from the device being controlled. More than about 30 degrees off-center, and it won't work. Now, that could be a result of my TV remote sensor, or it could be the SideClick. One other odd thing: when I mute my TV using the SideClick, it turns off all my wife's battery-powered candles that use a remote control as well. Obviously, the frequency of the SideClick is the same as her remote-controlled candles. It doesn't bother me nearly as much as it bothers her though. So, ultimately, if you're still reading, it's a good "universal" remote to have attached to your Roku remote. It eliminates the need to have multiple remotes strewn about the couch when watching TV. There's no backlighting to the remote, but you'll eventually remember the placement if the buttons, since they're linearly placed on the remote. For $30, it's worth it.

If you have a Roku and don't want the hassle of a large and confusing universal remote, then this is the product for you. It's a very simple add on unit that attaches to your Roku and gives added functionality such as turning on your TV and adjusting volume. The sidekicks buttons are fully programmable. This is a simple remote for people who don't have a ton of things hooked up to their TV. Very simple to use. Highly recommended.

Nice small addition, versus the big remote that came with the tv, or the giant other universals on the market. Note: Powers on samsung soundbar, but won't turn it off (samsung issue).

You need this clipon attachment if the ROKU device you have doesn't have side buttons so you can control the volume on your TV. And once configured, the power button and source toggle button also work on your TV. Looks like it is part of the remote.

Sideclick patches the Roku’s biggest flaw

It performs exactly as advertised. It is easily programmed to control the power and volume of a receiver connected to a TV equipped with Roku stick. It corrects a massive flaw of the Roku. If the Roku can power a TV and control TV volume, why can’t it control receiver volume? Thanks to the Sideclick, you can bypass this egregious oversight.

I didn't think that I needed this sideclick attachment until I saw that I didn't have a power button and volume keys to control my TV with only one device. It was simple to add and now everything is controlled by this remote and sideclick. Roku streaming, volume, power, etc. It was a great choice for a really good price. Highly recommend.

Perfect When You Don't Have The Enhanced Remote

The newer and higher end Roku models now come with an enhanced remote that gives you the ability to toggle the TV's power and control the volume. The Sideclick actually gives you some more capabilities in that it has extra buttons that you can easily program to control other features of your TV and even your entertainment system. It's attaches nicely though it clearly is not as elegant as the Roku Enhanced Remote.

Super, super easy to program. I use my TV pretty much for Roku access and only need to turn the TV on/off as well as the soundbar. This allows me to do both as well as change input sources and volume. Docked one star because its not the most secure device. Wish they had designed it like a phone case that wraps around the remote rather than a clamp that only grips the very edge.

This small programmable remote is a must have for anyone who uses a Roku player and doesn't want to deal with more than one remote. I was able to use this remote to control my TV and sound bar. Programming is easy and quick. The only issue I have encountered is that one of the remotes I bought had a sticky button when I first opened it. Over time it has fixed itself with use.
