Customers are saying

Customers admire the Universal Attachment for Roku® Streaming Player Remote for its easy setup, convenience, and the ability to control both the Roku and TV with one remote. The programmable buttons and volume control are also well-received features. However, some users find the attachment to be bulky and covering the headphone jack, while others mention that programming the buttons can be a bit tricky.

Not for Ultra 4K with headphones

Don't buy this if you have the Ultra 4K player with headphones. The Sideclick covers the headphone jack when it snaps on.

So, I'm a bit puzzled. The regular Roku remote works beautifully. When I attached and activated the Sideclick, it would not set up properly. I even have a Samsung Smart TV with Roku ready to go, but I could NOT get the Sideclick to match up and control the volume. Looks like I'm back to a separate remote just for the volume...

Honestly, I thought this product was going to be able to do alot more then I originally thought. Quite frankly, I think it can be done without.

Doesn't work with Spectrum IR remote

They don't tell you this in the promotional material, but I can't program my cable box remote to the Sideclick. Their customer support said that cable box remotes are IR and RF (although mine is strictly IR and they made their comments after I gave them the model of the remote UR5U-8780_BHT which apparently they never read, or they would have known that it was only IR). I am returning it to Best buy, but I will lose the $5.50 I paid to have it shipped since it was only available on line.

I got this hoping to be able to use with my cable box. After trying to setup with complete failure I went to Webb site to find out that cable tuner boxes work on a mix signal and won't work with the sidekick. Glad I got it on sale. By the way buy a regular tv and add Roku, that way your tv comes on first and then you can switch to Roku channels. The cable companies really screw you and charge you more for high def.

    Fantastic!

The SideClick is such an improvement for me! Previously, if I was watching something on the Roku, I had to control playback with the Roku remote, the volume with my soundbar remote, and TV power with the TV remote. A universal remote would have solved two of those problems, but as I have the Roku mounted behind the TV, I had no line-of-sight to the box and had to continue using the separate Bluetooth remote. Setting up the remote was a breeze, as it's learning, so there are no codes to try and retry and retry until you get it right. (This may be a problem if you don't have your original remotes.) The fit and finish is top-notch, and looks completely natural next to the Roku remote. If I have to nitpick, pressing the power button at just the right angle can give enough leverage to cause the remote sleeve to pop off. Also, the SideClick covers the headphone jack on the Roku remote, but I personally don't use that feature, so it's not an issue for me. My kids use it, and they just pop the adapter off and snap it back on afterwards. Overall, a fantastic idea and a top-notch product.

Best and simplest solution to universal remotes

I have two Roku devices and the challenge I've had with both of them is having the TV remote... and the Roku remote... and sometimes also a receiver remote... and having to coordinate them all. I know there are really robust universal remote solutions out there but they all come with their additional complexities - programming them, making sure they stay "in sync" with the state of the devices, making sure everyone in your house can use them. When I saw this project on Kickstarter I knew it was the answer, and I was right. This little snap-on remote solves EVERY PROBLEM I had with trying to figure out the whole universal remote thing. * There are enough programmable buttons to turn on the TV and receiver, control volume on both, and switch inputs. * It was dead simple to set up. Seriously, from opening up the box to having a working solution took around 20 minutes. That includes time to read the instructions. * My five-year-old daughter can figure out how to use it. Anyone can use it. It's that simple. No more mashing input buttons and doing crazy multi-button setup operations. I bought two of these and never looked back. I'm looking to get the new Roku with 4K support for a different room and I'll be getting another one for that (since I'll then have three Roku devices). Truly, I can't recommend this highly enough. Well worth the investment.

Very disappointed that Roku does not have the HBO max app available through it. Not sure why they can’t get their act together and make it available! Avoid this product until they get this figured out!

Cost me $20 and couldn't return it after 15 days. It took 15 days to figure out I didn't like it. Buy a universal remote with ROKU. I'm using my tv remote and roku remote; I'm fine.

I ended up purchasing the Inteset 422 four in one remote that works seamlessly with my Sharp Roku TV, , two other televisions that have Roku 3s. It also works with DirecTV.

Save yourself $$$ by purchasing a multi functioning remote. While this can be programmed to your TV it can't be programmed to a surround sound.
