I am sort of a gadget freak and so, as a result, I have numerous remote controls laying around. I have used several unified remotes but the simplicity of the Roku remote can't be beat and it is the thing I use most. That said, being able to simultaneously control things like TV volume and input source without looking for the TV remote is a very convenient thing. Give this cool little add-on some serious consideration. I thing I have saved at least 2 hours of my life (in 2-3 second increments) by not having to switch remotes.

I purchased two of these devices for my two Roku's (Roku 3 and Roku 4) and absolutely love them. I do not have cable or any other sources for my TV, only my Roku. So my Roku remote is my primary means for navigating on my TV. For a while now I have had to switch between TV, Sound Bar, and Roku remote which is annoying. This has allowed me to program my important TV and sound bar functions on the Sideclick and combine everything on one remote. Setup was very simple and so far I have not had any issues with the device. I've programmed everything once and it continues to work fine after several months of use. I would recommend this device to anyone in a similar situation to me where they use their Roku as their primary TV device.

If you've ever used a Harmony remote and are expecting similar functionality you will be disappointed. The remote works based on copying IR functions from your device original remote so if you do not have the original remote or a remote (Samsung Phone with Peal remote, etc...) that you are currently using to manage the device you want (TV, Receiver, Blu-Ray Player, etc...) then this remote will not work for you. The way the remote works is by selecting the button you want to use, pointing the original remote to the SideClick and pressing the button on the original remote, the SideClick then copies that function and every time you press the button it does the same thing the original remote did. The problem I have with the sideclick is that it only has 8 buttons, so you can copy functions like turn on/off device a, turn on/off device b, volume up, volume down, channel up, channel down, and 2 more buttons. Here is where you can get into trouble, if you have a new Smart TV that has a pad for up/down/left/right and an OK button in the middle for select you will not be able to use this remote. To select an input or App on my TV I click one button, then with the pad select up or down, left or right and then click on OK to select the input, you can see where this remote is deficient. That being said if you just need a universal remote that you can attach to your Roku remote and click on Volume Up/Down for a receiver or sound bar and turn on/off 2 devices, this remote will work great for you.

I am an original backer of the SideClick. I had been searching for a good universal remote for the longest time. Either the price wasn't right, the programming was too complex, or it wouldn't work with all of my systems. This accessory was the answer to my prayers. I was able to easily program the few buttons that I use from three different remotes into this one remote that attached conveniently to my Roku3 remote. It works the exact way it was intended and does it's job very well. I primarily steam shows and movies and on occasion watch cable. I never need to search for different remotes to use the different systems. Highly recommended.

This is a great convenience as I have around 3 or 4 remotes including the Roku remote. This is the one remote that I can keep by my chair. Programming it is easy there are no codes to look up. You just aim the two removes at one another and you are done. It doesn't add too much weight or girth to the remote. If you use your Roku and have to control a TV and a sound bar like I do, it is totally worth it.

This is the most excellent companion for the Roku Streaming Stick. I have a Bose solo five that is connected to my TV via the optical cable. The Roku remote was not able to control the Volume. I also tried other universal remotes, but they were not able to control the Roku Streaming stick; the Sideclick universal remote is a great solution. It is easy to set up, looks good, and does the job with no issues, Awsome devise.

I bought my Sideclick through the Kickstarter campaign. I have a TV I only use with Roku, and it was a huge pain to have to manage a second remote just to turn the TV on & off or to adjust the volume. The Sideclick attached easily (there were really clear instructions about how to choose the correct adaptor for my specific remote), programmed easily (you program it using your existing remote instead of through codes and stuff), and just does what it's supposed to do, while allowing me to only lose 1 remote at a time instead of 2 :)

I have this on my Roku remote. Adding it means I can now control all of this: - TV on/off - Sound system Volume up/down/mute - Sound system source switch (to Roku) - Ceiling fan on/off and intensity up/down There was a short adjustment period adding this to my Roku remote because it made the Roku remote seem heavy and kind of clunky. But I got over it because the increased control is worth it! I've now been able to put two other remotes in the drawer (sound system remote and ceiling fan remote).

I ordered this product through the kickstarter campaign because my remote broke. When we got the SideClick we realized we needed a working remote to set it up. We bought a $5 universal remote and programmed the SideClick in 5 minutes. Super easy set up. We lobe the SideClick and now we only have one remote to watch our favorite shows.

Works well and solves a real problem. I've wanted a product like this for a long time, given that Roku and FireTV provide no volume controls on their otherwise very convenient remotes. Most Universal remotes do not communicate with wifi or blue tooth as the Roku remote does. Thus the roku remote is more reliable than my universal remote. Now with SIdeClick I have volume on my Roku remote.

The Sideclick has turned out to be the deal solution to consolidate the remotes of my TV and Roku. I was looking for a standard universal remote but they were large and had way too many buttons for functions I didn't need. Then I read about the Sideclick , made for the Roku with minimal size and the basic functionality to turn the TV on/off and volume control. Installation was about 5 minutes - no glitches and easy instructions.

I bought one to test out. Works great. I bought two more Roku Sticks and two more Sideclicks to go with the Roku remotes for spare bedrooms. No more dealing with dual remotes in any room in my house, finally! I've used a Harmony for the last time. I want simple and I finally got it. Thumbs up to anyone who Kickstarted this remote. I never would have found about it if you hadn't done so.

Before purchasing the Sideclick, we were constantly having to keep track of several remotes. It was frustrating to play hide and seek with the remotes every day. The Sideclick has made watching TV a stress free activity as we no longer need 3 different remotes. It is durable and so easy to use. My 4 year old is able to operate it without help. Awesome product!

Bought this product pre-production through Kickstarter. It's a really convenient product. Works well, and keeps me from having to keep up with multiple remotes that constantly get separated and wind up in different places. Can be tricky to program initially, but if you follow the instructions, it works as intended. Once programmed, it's good to go!

Bought through Kickstarter. Awesome idea and it works great. The universal remote snaps onto a frame that holds the Roku remote. No need for multiple remotes or universals that only partly work. My Roku remote is RF and my TV is IR, a standard IR remote could have been a problem, but this gets around that problem cleanly.

I bought one of these through the Kickstarter campaign months ago and have been using it ever since. I'm back to buy another one for our other TV. We moved our TV remote permanently to the drawer as we can control the TV from right along side our Roku remote. It's a nice clean package and has held up really well.

File this under "why didn't I think of that". The Sideclick is simple yet incredibly useful. It is well designed, solidly built and comes with easy to follow directions. I've been using it for several months and I've been extremely happy with the purchase. Not sure how I used Roku without it

I love my roku but always found it a bit tedious that i had to have 3 remotes, one for my tv, one for my sound bar and the roku remote. This little gadget eliminated all of that. It is the tiniest universal remote ever and it's beyond easy to control! highly recommend to everyone!!!

This is such a great product. It is slim, fits around the remote perfectly, and is easy to use and to setup. This is great for someone looking to avoid the more expensive universal remote options and trying to decrease the number of remotes laying around.
