This film reflects the difficulties that Catholic priests had in trying to bring Christianity to 16th century Japan. The plot develops slowly and is not uplifting, but it seems to be historically accurate.

This was a very long boring movie. Next to no action scenes. Thought it was going to be a decent movie because Liam Neeson was in it. He was in all about 15 minutes in the total movie and his part was uneventful too. Hated the movie. Worse movie I've seen in a while. Complete waste of money.
