Very Portable Wifi
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While I was waiting for an installed fiber-based internet connection at home, I needed an alternative as my phone plan was throttled and I also had a road trip coming up. I did some comparative shopping and this unit combined with a Simple Mobile plan seemed to be the right option. I found this device was very easy to set up - it came with its own SIM card. I purchased a data plan for which the activation code was written my Best Buy receipt. The whole process took minutes. I also downloaded the Simple Mobile App ..which is OK'ish. the device has a small screen which gives basic infomration - the menu button allows you to skip to addition screens. Up to 10 devices can be connected (though speeds may slow). This device operates on 4G LTE but speeds are decent. You can have it in your pocket or in the car. I had a 650 mile road trip and I was connected to International Radio Stations - and had zero connection breaks. It is light, affordable, and easy to use.

Great alternative for light home or business usage
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I work from home and sometimes my husband has to go to appointments at the hospital, so I used this hotspot and it works really well. Did a simple 20 minute session doing work and I only exhausted 35mb for that time period which is great. There are some things you need to remember. On the back of the battery cover is the admin log in information. (Need to take out battery) I highly suggest changing the name of your network immediately, and also setting up a new Wifi password you or your family can remember. The default one setup by the device won't be too secure. Next if you connect your tablet or computer to this device, I suggest pausing updates or updating your unit over your own Wifi before connecting as these can eat up lots of data. The connection is pretty good overall and I usually average out 2 to 3 bars strength in some areas. In a good Verizon coverage area , all bars. One thing I like is to pair it with an external battery charger as the battery life is not too good. These are inexpensive, for a 10000 mAh model that is. Keep in mind that hotspots are not for everyone and depending on your usage you may find you burn through a lot of data in one sitting. It's design to give you internet on the go, rather then be a continuous link to the internet. But a whole lot better than being on a public wifi network. Overall its a great value, especially the 40gb plan, It's certainly cheaper than having a ISP come out to hook up service and all that good stuff.

Awesome product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works very well! I was at the beach and was able to get service for my computer and phone when my Wi-Fi was weak. Easy to use, only downside is the battery runs out quickly.

Replacement
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this to replace another Simple Mobile Moxee hotspot that was overheating and having battery issues. I purchased the old one 5 or 6 years ago. I could not find another battery and the old unit was getting slow. The new one works much better and faster.

Horrible battery life, only works for a week.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This worked great for the first few weeks but today after a full day of using it while charging it, the battery has completely died. It was going in and out of connection so i looked at it and the screen was flashing. I unplugged it from charging and it went completely dead instantly. Absolutely ruined and only used it for about 20 hours total.

Perfect for what I need
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This hot spot is perfect for what I needed. I travel a lot and do not trust the resort WIFI. I also use it at tradeshows were I have 5 or 6 items needing WIFI. The last show was charging $365.00 for 2 days of WIFI. I used this. I do not pay for data months I do not need it.

Good enough for an power outage
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Worked to give two phones and tv enough internet. Only thing that sucked is that it has terrible battery life, constantly needed to be plugged in

Depends on what you need it for
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Difficult for this Baby Boomer to set-up. Two amounts to choose from - $15 and $40. If you are just using this occasionally for connecting for light data either plan will work. We were watching Roku about six to eight hours a day. The $40 amount lasted two and a half days while streaming videos. Quite expensive.

It was ok
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great option for a road trip or something only used for very temporary. I got the 49$ card and thought I could use it for a month or so while trying to get internet through a compony. I have a toddler and it last 4 days or so. Could get very expensive and not real easy to set up I didn't think personally.

Defective SIM card
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Completely unable to activate the SIM card. I exchanged the first hotspot I got on the same day and ran into the exact same issue with the second device. Simple Mobile's tech support was polite but extremely unhelpful - all they could tell me was that the SIM cards (which were already installed in their product!) were defective and I had to buy a new one to get the device to work. It's a good thing the Best Buy return process is relatively painless, but don't even waste your time with this thing.
