Impressed Yet Again
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was really impressed with how seamless the three segments to this film were. Each being directed by one of the three Rodriguez, Miller, Tarantino. They style was incredible, and it really did feel like i was watching a comic book. I could almost picture the dialogue mathicng a silly word bubble above the character's heads. An all star cast, incredible visuals, and an intricate and complex story. Here's a hint, all three segments have the same bad guys, though different puppets if you get my drift. Also, each segment takes place in different time periods, which is how one of the characters will be back in the sequel even after meeting his demise in this one. Have fun watching a comic book on screen.

Best of the mostly green screen movies
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There's only been a few movies at this time that have been done mostly with green screen or blue screens, sky captain was a fair attempt but still it just didn't really work, 300 was fun once or twice but Sin City is the best of the bunch at this time. Some people say it's violence just for the sake of violence but first it's fiction, just entertainment, not everything needs to have a purpose, but secondly from time to time Sin City parallels The Once And Future King by T.H. White, certainly there's no quest for the Holy Grail, but the ideals and actions of the Knights of the Round Table are there and they even mention Galahad and Lancelot from time to time.

You have to get the extended version!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is definitely one of the greatest movies ever made! They did a great job turning this graphic novel into a movie, or should I say novel-come-to-life. I highly recommend the extended version because you get two different versions of the film. One is seperated the way it was intended, the other is the theatrical. The theatrical has some things cut out but has all the stories meshed together. I recommend watching both, you won't be disappointed.

Great
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The single-disc version of "Sin City" is a must-have for casual fans. Although I've seen the 2-disc version's special features, they were only something I would want to watch once (the extended version of the film also breaks up each of the film's four segments into separate pieces). The theatrical cut of the film overlaps all of the stories and is great. Highly recommended.

One of the Sickest Movies Ever Made!!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This has got to be one of the best movies they have made in a while. It was so cool how they had in black in white with a little color in it like a comic book. It's supposed to be just like Frank Miller's book. I'm amazed on how this movie was because I expected it to be a pretty good movie but I was wrong. It was such a great action-filled movie!

Frank Miller is back
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review."Sin City" is a great movie. It is funny and violent and in black and white. This has all the extras one would come to expect from a Rodriguez film, including the 10-minute film school and 10-minute cooking school. Rodriguez, always a pleasure. Miller, almost always a pleasure. Tarantino, should direct one scene in every film.

This is really Sin City, not Vegas
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this version cause I love uncut, unrated, blah, blah. Cause I love seeing that extra 10 seconds that I'll blink and miss. Bet in all seriousness. This comes with one of the graphic novels in the collection. A big plus as to why you should shell out the extra cash on this version if you havn't already bought this movie.

Great Thriller Movie
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sin City is a movie which features 2 disc blu ray in the packaging and is action packed... This movie features A-List actors with great extras on the blu ray and excellent sound quality. Director Frank Miller takes you on a wild story telling ride that you will forget in this movie. I definitely recommend purchasing this movie before part 2 releases in October 2013.

Amazing film, for a cheap price!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sin City is like watching a comic book come to life. It has an amazing cast and a great story loaded with fantastic characters. One of RObert Rodriguez's best films. Not sure how long the $4.99 price will last, but this is the versions loaded with two versions of the film and plenty of extras. There is a bare bones version that more expensive else where.

Dark, intense, and artistic film experience
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When I first watched this movie, lots of violence/intense moments, lots of low-monotone narration by the main characters, and mostly B&W coloring left me feeling it that was a very dark and different. Beyond that I did not know what to think. Then, I watched it again later. This time I was more adjusted to what I was seeing, and I could see that it was artistic. In art one sometimes takes away from an image to focus more clearly on what is left. The character's motivations are simple, there is not much emphasis on big stunts or chase scenes, and the scenes are relatively simple and often image processed to look simpler. This puts the focus on the raw feelings and actions of the characters. That makes these feelings and actions seem pretty intense. Sin City is a place where the sun rarely shines, and it rains or snows a lot. People are passionate about what they would like to do and are usually not inhibited about doing it, even if it's bad/illegal. Image processing makes it seem less real, and the action sometimes has an unreal aspect to it. It was an interesting, and very different film.

Great Adaptation of a Graphic Novel.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bloody, violent, and intelligent; those are a few words to sum up this film. The interweaving storylines combine seamlessly into the bigger picture. It's a great film that just exhibits good filmmaking skills and good acting. This film looks like a comic book and tries to be nothing more.

"Nah, but they know they've been in a fight..."
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Must have for all fans of Sin City! You get both the theatrical version and the extended cuts of the separate stories, plus another fantastic "10-Minute Cooking School" (Sin City Breakfast Tacos.) PQ and AQ are top notch and the film itself is a fun ride from beginning to end. Highly recommended.

Excellent, must-have Blu-Ray
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really wrote this review mainly to offset the one star rating someone else had left. This is a Blu-ray I play more than most others. I love the movie and the extras make it worth multiple rewatches. I picked it up on sale, but this would have been worth it at full price.

Vegas Who?
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a well put together movie like the comic book itself. It tells stories from different characters points of view, without ever leaving the viewer with nothing to work with. The cast does a great job at bringing each character from the comic book to life. And the point about the whole movie begin shot in black & white is a treat all it's own.

Comic book on the big screen
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This movie really looks like a comic book on the big screen, with the different shotrs of shadow and light and the little splash of color in some scenes. I like that all the stories are tied into each, but each one could stand on its on.
