Feel the BASS!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Unboxing I was extremely surprised on how it was packaged. The outbox was typical however the plastic package was almost shrink wrapped which I doubt was supposed to be like that. That is why I gave it the 4 stars because it took me almost 20 minutes to open without hurting myself. Functionally, nowadays it’s pretty standard to connect to Bluetooth - very easy and straightforward. I played various genres of music to test sound quality and was pleasantly surprised with the sound quality. It was crisp and the bass was literally pounding and at the same time clear. Voice was clear when I used it to wash a couple clips of movies on YouTube and reels on instagram. These are over the ear headphones, they are very comfortable. The quality is pretty solid for this price point. The controls were easy to find and control manually but if you want to further enhance or customize the sound you should download the Skullcandy app. Feel the BASS. Overall, if you are looking for a great sounding, comfortable over the ear headphones without breaking the bank I would highly recommend these.

EXCITING and FUN at an incredible price
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.SkullCandy Crusher 3.0 The Crusher 3.0 builds on a previous Crusher ANC release that I had the pleasure of reviewing several years ago to rave reviews. My emphasis then remains true on this update. These are just plain FUN !! Music seemingly comes alive with EXCITEMENT , and uber simple controls that anyone can enjoy seal the deal. This iteration refines the sound that made the original so great, while trimming some features that were likely overkill for their target audience. The top-end is much much cleaner than before, with punchy mid-bass, and as much bottom as you can tolerate. Most of my listening spanned audiophile playlists on Qobuz and Apple Music lossless, so I rarely slide the bass slider above 20-25%. There is a lot more dimensionality now, and far more articulate soundstage imaging. I came away far more impressed than expected for such an affordable pair of seemingly basic cans. I suspect that like many of us, these won’t be purchased for critical listening, but for ease of use. we just accept the default settings that dominate our listening experience, (at least until we actively decide to engage with sometimes complicated menus, EQ settings, etc. ) Well the SkullCandy Crusher Wireless implement this in an ingenious and forward thinking easy to operate … tactile access to control Bass with a simple left-hand slider to adjust on track without taking your eyes off task. Especially useful while on a playlist of various artists, some mixed hot and some with seemingly little to no bass. Operation is super intuitive, I snapped a pic of the Quick Start card (tiny text warning ) but didn’t need to even look and zoom. Simply place over your ears and experiment away; Basic usage left hand bass control slider right thumb + increases volume, - decreases volume, pause button (between those two) pairs, and turns on / off (press hold 4 sec) The same pause button also answers and hangs up calls, with a double tap to activate Siri or other voice assistant. Transport controls, + for 3 seconds is next track — for 3 seconds is previous track Unlike the older Crusher ANC, that then was seemingly pacing Sony and Bose in the noise cancellation race, these new Crusher 3.0 Wireless abandons use of the app entirely, perhaps to simplify for their intended user base, largely uninterested in fine tuning their listening experience. There are no Personal Sound hearing profiles, advanced EQ customization, or ANC tuning. Some may view this as a regression, though in practice it simplifies usage without complexity. If you like to tinker and like to fine tune, then check out SkullCandy Crusher ANC, ANC 2, or EVO which do use the app. During this review period I got to revisit some of my mixed-use cans, from gaming, wired and wireless, on-the-go, mixing and mastering, critical listening , etc. Sound is largely subjective, but I ranked what was handy to me as follows, from last to most favorite : (pictured left to right) Logitech g335 (wired, gaming) Lucid Sound LS-20, (wired, gaming) Skull Candy Crusher ANC (original) Alienware (gaming) ** Skull Candy Crusher 3.0 (review) ** Shure 50 (wireless) Apple airPodsPro Max (USB-C) Sennheiser HD-598 (wired) HiFiMan Edition XS planar magnetic (wired) PROS +compact +super simple +50 hour battery life !! +easy access Bass slider + transparent clean sound +sounds great with all types of music CONS -cups do not fold -no fine-tuning in app -limited battery feedback -other complaints on build quality and longevity CONCLUSION It depends on what you are in the market for. If you seek audiophile detail and accuracy with airy top end these are not it, nor would you find anything near this price range that is. But if you’re looking for FUN, Simple, non-complicated, with easy tactile access to the bass slider control without needing to open your phone then these Crusher 3.0 fit the bill in spades and sound phenomenal for the money. Bass for days
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Skull Crusher offers everything you have come to know about the brand with little to no change. And while the audio is of decent quality, no new features seem to have been added to the latest Crusher line. So out of the box you get everything you need to get you started and setup takes less than five minutes. So first thing i wanted to note was that as of writing this review there is currently no app feature for the 3.0 wireless. The app connects to the head set but in big bold words clearly lets me know "There are no additional features or add ons for the Crusher 3.0 through the app." Im sure over time this may change but do note that as of writing this review there is no current way to access a equalizer or change any kind of audio output. All changes have to be made through the headphone frame via volume up/down button, power button, and a bass slider that allows you to ramp up the bass. And while i understand this is a basic entry level set, i feel basic commodities, like app features should be a given. Moving on, the headset does collapse and make for ease of storage while on the go. And speaking of the bass slider, off on the left ear piece is a slider you can move up or down for bass control. And how strong is the bass? Lets just say it'll rattle your brain in your skull. You can literally feel the vibrations off the speaker and sound waves as they hit your ear. Audio has decent output and the drivers seem to do a good job even with the bass at max volume. The break in period sucked due to how rigid the frame and ear cups are. After a few hours of use the headset become more comfortable to use. One thing i did want to mention was that the ear cups barely covered my ears completely and im not that big of a guy. Just something to note in case you are of a larger stature. Over all this not a bad head set by any means so don't mistake my 3 star for making you not want to get it. The reason i gave it a average score is because it is literally a average headset. There is no break through tech. There is currently no app functionality to pair it with, and with that being said there is no access to audio settings. And while i know and understand that Skullcandy will fix it with future updates, at the end of the day its still the same old Skullcandy you have come to know with nothing break through. If your not a audiophile and lean more towards an emphasis for bass, then this is your go to. If your looking for something affordable to get you by, this is perfect. But if you nitpick everything little sound bite and spend 30 minutes just getting your EQ right, then this is gonna be a hard pass.

Sound quality is great, build quality not so much
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These headphones sound great. After about 4 mo of use, cracks started to appear in the plastic. Eventually the "Y" shaped bracket that holds the housing broke. I had to use epoxy to repair and reinforce the bracket. They look crappy, but still sound great.

Pillows for my Ears - Great Sound and Wireless Ran
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking for some over the ear headphones I could use in my home office. Specifically, they had to be over the ear, not earbuds. I wanted something comfortable to wear for long periods. Finally, they had to not be noise cancelling. I need to be able to hear any noise (the dog) from other parts of the house. These Skullcandy Crusher headphones fit the bill to a tee. Out of the box it took about two hours to charge the headphones. I have not seen a charging cable like the one that came with the headphones, so I was a little skeptical, but it plugged right into the USB port and charged. It is a very short charging cable! The Skullcandy Crusher headphones easily connected to my iphone. Bluetooth functionality connected the two easily and quickly. I move from my home office to the kitchen for a cup of coffee while on a conference call and never lose the connection. That's at least 20' plus in distance. I really appreciate the simple, easy functionality of the three "buttons". One to increase volume and one to decrease it. In the middle is the On/Off or Start/Stop button. When I'm not on a conference call I can play music from a connected device. The bass is easy to adjust, it's a simple sliding button on the other ear. I didn't think the bass adjustment was something I would use, but I find myself adjusting the bass for a better listening experience. I find the Skullcandy Crusher headphones to be lightweight and I forget I am wearing them. It's like having pillows on my ears. They are soft but not mushy. They stay in place but because they are so cushioned they are really comfortable.

Housing completely broken after 1 year
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm a software developer and use these headphones at my desk every day. After 1 year of regular use (putting the headphones on, and simply taking them off, no folding ever) the connections to the ear pieces broke. It started with the left side but I taped it to keep it together. Now the other side did the same thing. Seems like some sort of plastic fatigue. Would definitely not rebuy or recommend.

Good Sound. Super Easy Setup and Controls.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The sound is great for me and it does really make you feel the base if you slide the base control all the way to the top. But is several songs that was just a bit too much and somewhat distorting of the other sounds to be up all the way. But that is easily adjustable with the slide to give you the exact level of bass that you want and find enjoyable. There is no app that Skullcandy has required to be on your phone, computer or whatever. You just hit the round button between the plus + and Minus - symbols for the specified number of seconds on the black and orange quick start sheet and select Skullcandy Crusher from your list of bluetooth devices and they are ready to go. The Quick Start sheet and the little booklet are both written quite well and are easy to understand and will get you through learing the controls and through any issue that may pop up. My use for these will predominatly be inside use while chilling out. I have however seen several people walking down the street and others shopping in stores wearing them. As for myself, I do not like total sound Isolation while out in public or even in the yard using power equipment, with the exception of the lawn tractor. I prefer my earbuds that let through ambient sounds for those uses. If I could have only one device, I would go with the earbuds, however these as a second device to let your ears rest without the buds inside are a great option.

Ear Pieces Mounted with Cheap Plastic
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The headphones work great. Unfortunately the design is cheap. Originally I thought they were going to last a while because the extender pieces are made of metal. However, the part around the actually ear pieces it just plastic... When i pulled them off my head, one ear piece just snapped off! This makes them completely unusable because they wont sit on your head. This seems like an extremely cheap way to not be able to use some very expensive headphones anymore. I am not happy. Yes, I've had them for 3 years now, but I will not accept this. I have other technology that is a lot more complicated that is 10 years old and works great still. For headphones to only last 3 years because they decided to make it with cheap plastic, is NOT acceptable.

Wonderful Bluetooth Headphones!
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased these headphone for my husband. His hearing isn't that good and the TV was up a little loud especially at night. So finally convinced him that he needed these so I could hear the TV in my bedroom. I prefer skullcandy products and have own 6 different types of headphones. I like them well enough to purchase as gifts. The sound is great and the price is very reasonable. They fit really good over-the-ears. The cushion on top of the head is more than most. I really like the cushion around the ears it is very comfortable. Even though it is not noise cancellation it does block a lot of the outside noise. The battery life on the headphones are excellent and last for hours. It comes with a charging cable and a cable to plug in for a computer or to devices like Roku. The best part is they are Bluetooth and will connect to TV or computers. We have Samsung and LG TV's, Hp and Mac computers with no issues of Bluetooth connection. If and when these wear out I will purchase another pair. My husband has a pair in the living room and I have one in my office. We both wear ours for hours each day.

Best experience for Bassheads who want to feel it!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As with the other Skullcandy Crusher headphones I reviewed, these are truly one of the best experiences for people who want the physical, tangible FEEL of bass-laden music, not just the auditory experience of low bass notes you get from normal headphones. These headphones really make you feel the music, thanks to the bass slider that lets you ramp up or down the haptic bass feel. I absolutely love these on-the-fly adjustments, as I am quite an eclectic music listener and my playlists span everything from 70’s country to the latest pop songs, so I am always grateful to be able to adjust my bass experience as I move through my music! As compared to the Active 540 Crusher’s from Skull Candy, these are an awesome deal for almost half the price. They may lack a bit of the audio clarity and treble and mid presence that I enjoy from the more expensive, higher-end headphones, but it honestly isn’t a make-or-break part of the audio experience with these headphones. I think a lot of what counts for headphone users is present here. They are low profile and stylish, and they have comfortable, easy-to-access volume and music controls on the right ear cup for easy navigation without having to pull out your phone for all such functions. Where I would question or have concerns about these headphones at all is in two key areas. The first is build quality. While these are not necessarily bad out of the box, the hinge regions of the ear cups have a bit of a feel that, if one were to get them badly bent the wrong way, such as in a backpack with other items like coats and books mashed in, they might snap. Ergo, careful storage and handling are a must. The other area of concern is the external plastic on the ear cups. It feels like material that would easily scratch or show gouges in this black color I received for review in the right circumstances. A couple more things to mention if you are comparing these to the higher-end Skullcandy Crusher 540 Active headphones. While both are possessed of excellent noise isolation qualities, the ear cups on the 540 Active’s run just a bit cooler in feel as they are, indeed, intended more for active users or gymgoers, and that can make a difference for some users. Another consideration is that the Crusher 3.0 headphones fold for storage, while the Active 540’s do not. Another consideration is that the Active’s headphones, while apparently meant to be more solid on the head, actually feel LOOSER on my medium-sized male head than these Crusher 3.0’s! So weirdly enough, the non-active branded headphones in this case actually feel better suited for intense movement activities than the Active branded ones! Finally, this is a bit more subjective, but I am quite certain the Bass on the high end of the slider is far more punchy feeling on the Active 540’s. Now, is that worth almost double the price? I will let you, the buyer, decide. With all this information, I would give these headphones a solid 5 out of 5 stars for their price and competitors. People who love bass are going to want to pick these headphones with near certainty over any other headphones in this price range. Others looking for different build quality or a more balanced approach to the audio range are going to want to keep looking, but should still give these a try, by my recommendation!

A little music with your bass
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love listening to music with heavy bass. These OG Crusher 3.0’s are my third pair of Crushers Including 360 Limited Edition and EVO’s. Crusher 3.0’s are the entry level version for the Crusher line with the biggest difference between the models being build and features. In the pack you get the headphones, charging cable and they come with an aux cable so you can use them with older devices that might not have bluetooth, like my iPod classic, or when the battery is dead. You need to have the power on for the sensory bass but they sound excellent even without it. The Crusher 3.0 resembles the rest of the line with the thick padding on the ear cups and plastic build. Unlike EVO’s, the connecting wire between the cups is visible, not hidden in the frame and the plastic feels just a bit thinner. The 3.0’s also only have three buttons and the sensory bass slider. The ear cups fold up for storage and carrying but they do not rotate - making these a little less comfortable than the EVO’s which spin 90 degrees. Clamping pressure is good, these don't clamp so hard you get a headache but they are secure enough to get through a workout at the gym or a run. Battery life continues to be excellent, offering over 40 hours of use between charges. Charging time to full is very fast at just over two hours. Pairing and using the headphones is straight forward, like most others, press and hold the center button to power these on and go into bluetooth pairing. There is no app for these and thus no sound controls or equalizers like EVO’s. The plus and minus buttons operate volume and track selection. These do not have noise cancelling however, the thick padded ear cups do a great job at minimizing outside noise. The reason you buy Crushers is for the sensory bass. OMG if you like heavy head pounding bass, Crushers should definitely top your list of brands to try. I especially like that you can increase the bass even at lower volume levels so you never feel like you are getting cheated. Speaking of volume, these have plenty of it. These headphones sound great with no sensory bass but when you move the slider up, WOW! Not only do you get brain shaking bass, you don't lose any warmth of the mids and highs. I love the instant feedback you get with the slider making it easy to tone it up or down when your next song is bass heavy or not heavy enough. You don't need to mess with an app or multiple steps to adjust it. Phone calls sound good and the calling party could hear me clearly. If you don’t need the extra features or you’re trying to save your pennies, these Crusher 3.0’s are a great introduction to the Crusher line - you won’t be disappointed. Five stars

Awesome Bass Great Runtime and Comfortable !
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall - Great headphones with good battery life and audio quality for the price. Comfortable, easy to connect and setup with incredibly powerful bass. A note on the adjustable BASS - these can literally rumble the earcups. The bass punch of the music I actually listen to was ridulous with the slider up so for a test I played a few Bass demo tunes used for car audio tuning and testing. (For Science!). The bass response is a physical thing with these. That is the only way I can describe it. I am glad they included the slider adjustment as you really need to dial it back for average listening. Literally ear massage if the right notes are hit. Highlight Features - Battery Life - Advertised at up to 40 hours, I used for over 20 without charging. Adjustable Bass ! - slider based contol for Bass level. Excellent when flipping music genres Mic, volume, track skip and call answer - all supported from headphones What I love ! Overall comfort great over the ears. Overall audio quality excellent for price range. Long battery life and fast charging. Room for improvement - The shortest charging cord I have ever seen was included. Could make charging awkward.

Best Bluetooth Headphones On the Market For the $$
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Battery The battery on this unit is phenomenal, I’ve had it for over two weeks and I still haven’t had to charge it, granted I have been used it in wired form as a mic for my PS4 which doesn’t use any battery but either way its still great battery life and is rated at 40 hours per charge. Comfort I feel like this category is really like a matter of do you like a loose fitting pair of headphones or do you like having a tight pair? These do pinch but they seem to pinch below the ear vs like Beats Studio Wireless tend to pinch on the upper ear which I find unbearable. So ultimately these are the most comfortable pair that I've ever worn that does pinch. I don’t think I could wear them as long as I could with the Bose QC35 but again its preference. Noise Cancelling & Volume These are noise isolating not cancelling so this is kind of a preference again, they do a good job of blocking out outside noise when listening to music and for the amount of bass they put out there is very little if any bleed. But when listening to like podcasts you can hear outside noises, so they may not be best for a plane ride, but if you have music on I’m sure you’d be fine. Sound The sound on these if absolutely phenomenal, I mostly listen to Hip-Hop and Rock and it has such clean bass it really brings out the baseline with bands like FFDP and with hip-hop you can imagine the booming bass. Even with the bass turned down the audio is crystal clear, I really expected bassy headphones like these to be very muddy but it is not. Bluetooth/Technology Here’s the only place I would kind of knock the headphones(not enough to drop a star thou), you can connect more than one device but the problem is when you leave the room, it like pauses your music trying to find the second device, just drop the device already I’ll reconnect it later if I need it. I also noticed skips in the bluetooth when using two devices almost like its checking to make sure the second device is still on board. The bluetooth isn’t really on par with Bose which has an app that lets you control what devices your connected to instead of having to go into pair mode to switch to different devices that you weren’t currently paired with. Overall comparing these headphones to other headphones on the market they compare very favorably, I’ve owned Beats Studio Wireless, I’ve Owned Sony Extra Bass and I currently own the Bose QC35 and I think these Skullcandy Crusher Wireless are better than all of them. I think the Bose pair has pluses were skull candy has negative and vice versa but you can’t beat the price on these, which is why I would select them over the Bose QC35. If money isn’t an issue I think the Bose QC35 is slightly better but overall you can’t go wrong with either pair.

Best bang for the buck
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I researched extensively to find the best headphones for the money and found them. These were by far the most comfortable and produced the best sound for the money. Mostly wear them at the gym and they are not too bulky as they have a slim profile compared to others in this category. The adjustable bass is a great option when listening to certain songs. The battery life is the best I have seen. If you are considering these or something similar, you need to check them out. I rarely write product reviews but believe these headphones are so good that I needed to pass the info along. Although the description notes a lifetime warranty, after purchase I confirmed with Skullcandy that it is only two years...which is still better than comparable models/brands.

Great pair of bass-centric headphones
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I reviewed a ton of headphones and finally decided on this one. The adjustable bass slider is such an innovative option. If you are looking for studio reference quality sound that perfectly reproduces sound without any color, then look at something else. If you like being able to crack up the volume and bass while maintaining good clarity, then these are for you. Couple that with the fact that these have amazing battery life, very comfortable on the ear, and decent passive (not active) noise cancelling, these are a great buy when compared to it’s Sony counterpart. Just to keep things balanced, there are a few small cons. There is a dip on the top end of the band that can be annoying at times depending on the shape of your head. I have a pretty large head with a little point at the top, so it sometimes get irritated if I don’t place it right. The ears don’t swivel at all, so keep that in mind. If you have the chance to try them in the store, then you should be to determine pretty quickly whether they feel comfortable enough. All in all, they are a rocking set of head phones that will quite literally shake your head!

Great sound quality, nice fit
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought these for gaming/working out/long road trips. Great sound, still get some ambient noise with low volumes but overall very happy with the purchase. I have cauliflower ear from wrestling and I cant use in the ear headphones/buds because of that so I switched to these. For the price I think they are well worth it so far. I love the adjustable base feature. If I am listening to rock I can turn it down, or up when I listen to rap and the base turned way up is incredible! They are super comfortable and I've fallen asleep with these on listening to music at night and they dont irritate your head at all. I also love the battery life and if the battery does, you just plug it in and can keep jamming. I have a ps4, hookup was easy. Cant do wireless with ps4 but you plug in the jack to the game controller and switch audio to all not just chat and everything gets contained to the headphones. Overall I am very happy with the purchase

Noice canceling Skull candy headphones
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. One of the best headphones I've ever wore. Very comfortable and the base rumbles in your ear. It's perfect if you're watching a movie or gaming on your ps4, because it feels like youre right inside. Battery life is amazing on these guys. I can go without charging for a whole week, which i think its a big plus. As for music, it feels like youre right inside a music video, if you're ever pumping at the gym. It's a pretty straight forward headset. Opening the box left alot to be desired, 2 plastic pieces put together and the wires squeezed in. It's fine, I'm not the type to care about the packaging. Does come with a USB A- USB C charging cable, and a 3.5mm aux cable. The headset looks ok, I didn't really like the wires sticking out of the earpiece, but it works and same thing, I don't really care what I look like, but I can understand how some people would not like this. Feels like the wires fell out of the headset and broken, but in fact, it's just the way it's supposed to look. I do appreciate the build of the metal extension, that at least felt more sturdy and premium. And the clamping force wasn't terrible, and I have a rounded head shape so I usually have pain if the force is too high. The design buttons are large, easy to push. Finally the thing I cared most about, audio quality. I don't think I consider myself an audiophile, but there was quite alot missing. The deep thumb/bass was weak, and there is an adjuster that allows you to boost more bass, but I felt like it barely changed anything. The mids were missing, the highs were blunted. Medium to narrow soundstage. This is a headset for my kids minecraft and youtube, not a headset to enjoy symphonies or positional audio in counterstrike. I tried the line-in to see if there's a difference and it was minimal. So overall, I felt like it's a ok headset , bring to places in case you lose it, or broken if dropped by the kids, etc. It wouldn't be my go to as an adult who wants to watch a movie or play some serious gaming.
