Difficult to turn on/off by TINY button. Makes shorting sounds throughout all songs. Sound HORRIBLE. Died COMPLETELY after only ONE MONTH and cannot get them fixed because I LOST the Receipt even though I Registered them the day I bought them. STAY AWAY from them. WASTED MONEY!!!

Overall it's a nice headset. Looks good, fits nicely. Earcups are soft and fit over my ears fine. The buttons are unique and easy to use. One button doesn't do everything, so by feel you can navigate the options from the headset. The bass is amazing, the speakers will be bouncing on your ears if you turn it all the way up. The sound is good. Once paired with the Skullcandy app, it gives you a basic hearing test (tones in your ears until you say you can't hear them) and adjusts the sound to fit. They can be used wired or through BT and sound the same. Connecting by a USB-C cable provides fast charging. The app is easy to install and connect to the headphones. That's the good. The bad is the main thing these headphones are supposed to do. Noise cancelling(NC). All NC headphones, earbuds etc have some hiss to them. But, the hiss in this set was loud and ever present. Even with the volume turned up, the hiss was there. Hissing that interfered with listening to music. Hissing just sitting in a room to block out sound. Hissing with the NC on or off, wired or wireless. Constant hissing/static. I've had NC sets that have a lot of hiss before, but they were all cheaper. At this price range other NC sets I own don't do this. For the price, the NC should not be an ever constant hissing loud enough to take away from enjoying the sound. Outside of the hearing test on the app it does nothing else. If you love bass this headset delivers. Comfort and sound is good. But, the constant hiss always reminds you the headset is there instead of enjoying the sound.

In the box: The Crusher ANC comes with a sturdy, molded nylon-covered case, a USB-C charging cable, an auxiliary 3.5mm audio cable (with inline microphone), and a very brief multi-lingual instruction booklet. Setup: The headset came fully charged so there was no need to charge it prior to first use. Bluetooth pairing was simple but had to be done at the time the headset was turned on (i.e. once on, a long press on the power button will not put it in pairing mode). If you are using the Tile Tracker app, the headset must first be paired with the device on which Tile Tracker is installed. Design: The case has a relatively hard shell and is molded inside to keep the headphones secure and protected. The articulating ear pieces are sturdy and enable compact storage, but the headphones remain on when earcups are pivoted inward for storage. You need to manually turn them off to spare the battery, particularly if Bluetooth connectivity is not turned off on the source device. The plastic headband and earcup shells generate substantial microphonics when using the touch controls or when the accidentally come in contact with anything. The auxiliary audio cable and microphone allow use of the headset when the battery is exhausted. This cable is 4 feet long and good for mobile use. You will need a 3.5mm extension cable (TSSR) for convenient use in an office or home environment. ANC will work with the cable plugged in, but (obviously) will not work when the battery is exhausted. There is a built-in Tile Tracker that allows you to find your headphones (within Bluetooth range) using the Tile Tracker app on an iOS or Android device. It’s a good thought, but poorly executed as the sound emitted by the headphones when trying to locate them is so weak that this feature is practically useless. I could barely hear it from 10 feet away when the headphones were in plain sight. The Tile app also wants to track your location continuously. Don’t bother… The headset padding is comfortable, but the earcups, while designed to be worn “over-ear”, are a bit small for me and uncomfortable when used for more than 30 minutes. The implementation of Bluetooth 5.0 in the Crusher ANC works well with the apt-X HD codex, but will not connect via the LDAC codex. Operation: Bluetooth range was good (30 feet) if the signal path is unobstructed. The range is variable and depends on the source and obstructions in the signal path. Double-clicks on the power button enable/disable ANC. It took me several tries to get my left thumb to press the button twice within the allowed time window. Touching outside of left earcup enables/disables “hear-through” mode when ANC is on and allows you to hear the sound around you. This is different from simply turning ANC off as it uses the headset microphones as an aid. This is an advantage since the earcups are closed-back. Haptic bass is controlled using the slider on the left earcup. The slider button is large and operates smoothly. Play/pause and track controls functioned as intended with my digital audio player and iOS and Android devices. The volume control worked synchronously with my iOS and Android phones, but not with my Android digital audio player. Your results may vary. A short press on the power button is supposed to report the battery level. I could not get this feature to report the battery level audibly or on the four LEDs next to the power button. Noise Canceling: The closed-back design and thick padding on the earcups appear to be responsible for most of the sound isolation. Like many noise canceling headsets I have tried, there is an audible hiss with ANC enabled. The ANC does reduce the constant din of commuting environments and attenuates other ambient sounds, but the hiss gets tiresome with prolonged use. Telephone Headset: When using the Crusher ANC as a headset for phone calls, others seemed to have no problem hearing me and the headset did not generate any echo in Bluetooth or wired mode. However, voices of those on the other end of the call were muted and difficult to hear. This is likely due to the U-shaped sound signature of the speakers that accentuate the low and high frequencies at the expense of those in the middle frequencies (i.e. the range of human speech). Sound Quality: The “haptic” bass is over the top. If you like the bass in your car to rattle the windows, you may like this feature. Even at its lowest setting, I find it completely annoying and unnecessary. The acoustic bass response is more than sufficient without the haptic augmentation. All Bluetooth codex variants (even aptX-HD) are lossy and the sound quality will never be as good as a wire for high-fidelity recordings and playback equipment. The sound quality of the Crusher ANC is improved with the auxiliary cable that comes with the headset. The frequency response on the Skullcandy Crusher ANC is U-shaped favoring the bass and treble at the expense of the midrange. Bass was forward (even without the haptic effect) (featured tracks 1, 2, & 7). Vocals were muddy and indistinct (featured tracks 3, 4, 5, 6, & 14). The headphones were capable of presenting orchestral works over a good dynamic range (soft to loud), but suffered for the lack of the middle frequencies that allow the alto and tenor instruments to shine (featured tracks 8, 9, & 10). Even Electonica suffered for lack of a balanced frequency response (featured track 11). Jazz was heavy on the bass and sibilant on the high-hat and cymbal brushes (featured tracks 12 & 13). Battery: Battery life is good given the inherent demands of noise canceling and Bluetooth communication. I listened for several hours over the course of my review and the battery level (as indicated by the four green LEDs next to the power button) appeared to remain high. But they only illuminate when turning the headphones on or when using the power cable. There was no audible or visual indication of the battery status when using a single short press on the power button as described pictorially in the instruction booklet. Overall: The Skullcandy Crusher ANC headphones and case have a sturdy design and feel. The Tile Tracker feature is relatively useless due to the low volume of the emitted sound. The haptic bass may appeal to some, but made the U-shaped frequency response even worse. The attenuation of the mid-range makes these headphones a poor choice for telephony and unsuitable for anyone looking for a balanced frequency response when listening to music. You’d think these would let you listen to music through an audio cord without having to charge them (just like every single other studio headset). But, these are nowhere near, or will ever be, wuality headsets. Buy some Audiotechnicas, that’s my two cents.

For me, the personalized audio completely revives the highs and restores minute details in percussion. The way it corrects the left/right balance is amazing as it opens up the stereo image. The ANC is quite effective - I've used it on multiple long flights and in the office. The new Crusher system is off the hook. If you're a Crusher fan, this is the headphone for you. I did notive the ANC hiss but only when I'm in a quiet environment with no music playing. It's a fair trade off to me to get the personal sound and amazing crusher performance. Comfort and build quality are top notch. Most headphones I can't wear more than a few hours, but this one has a light clamping force and I have worn it on long international flights. Read the 1-star review on the battery and based on my testing, the LEDs are correct. The iOS fuel guage is reporting 100% when charging is completed so the app just has a bug. No impact to the experience at all. Yes, they are expensive and the app isn't perfect, but these are the first of their kind. Nothing else like them on the planet. no doubt the app will only get better with time.

The haptic feedback on these headphones is incredible. I've never experienced anything like it. I mean, yes, I've used really good headphones that had so much low end, you might think they were vibrating the sides of your head, but these headphones actually do. Yes, the bass response is quite good, but there's a whole extra dimension added when the headphones themselves start vibrating along with the music. These are worth the price just for that experience alone. Now, the downsides. In quiet environments, I could hear hissing in the background, and that was even more noticeable with noise canceling turned on. Two, these don't seem quite big enough to be considered over-ear headphones vs. on-ear headphones. However, that may be purposely done to enhance the haptic feedback. Finally, if you pay attention closely, the haptic feedback seemed to kick in just a fraction of a second behind the actual sound, which makes it feel just a bit less natural. Still, you really, really ought to experience this.

The Skullcandy crusher ANC headphones pack a big punch in the way of bass all while eliminating outside noise bleed through via their ANC technology. The two tone black/tan design is beautiful but the real question comes down to how well everything comes together in conjunction with the sound quality. Let's dive in to it and see just what you can expect to receive with this headset. First off lets talk about the basics such as design and battery longevity. This headset is a very beautiful and well built unit. I personally have never been a big fan of Skullcandy as they have always just felt cheaply made and never really packed that big of a punch in the way of sound quality. The crusher ANC has definitely changed my mind as to how i view Skullcandy. While the chassis is a plastic build with a metal headband this unit is by far the most durable and flexible over the ear headset i have seen. You can grab the two ear cups and lay them down flat on a table completely making a straight line with this unit and you will get no cracking or lost of durabilty from the band. I was able to stretch this band completely straight and twist it 180 degrees and not once felt it was going to break or snap. There is plenty of cushion on the ear cups allowing for hours of comfort and minimization of audio bleed through. This means that you can blast your sound all the way up and your neighbor sitting next to you on the bus or airplane is most likely not going to hear it. Skullcandy claims a 24hr battery life at average audio settings and while this is a good standard to start with i got about 22 hours on a full charge. Not bad at all. The usb-c cable allows for fast charging which should yield about 2 hours of playback time on a 10 min charge. Let's not waste any more time and dive in to the real meat of this unit which is sound/ ANC quality and some of the unique functions that set it apart through their free app. The ANC (Active Noise Canceling) is a feature that let's you block most ambient sounds from bleeding through your headphones. This is a really nice feature to have especially if you do a lot of traveling that puts you up against other people on a daily or weekly basis. On the left ear cup there is a button that allows you to turn the ANC feature on and off. At this point and time there is no active way to adjust ANC quality, it is either on and off and that's it. While active it does a very good job at blocking high pitch sounds but seems to struggle a bit with the lower pitches. While doing my daily run it blocked out all ambient air sounds from the passing cars but some of the bigger trucks that passed by would still bleed through. Now keep in mind this is tested solely with ANC on and no music playing. Once i started streaming my music off of Spotify with ANC on i got no sound bleeding through and felt like i was alone in the world. Speaking of music sound quality was very good. Initially when i first powered the unit on and started streaming music the quality seemed a little plain and muffled however after a few hours of breaking in the drivers and adjusting the settings on my equalizer sound quality greatly improved. Vocals were crystal clear with no RNF distortion in the background. My mids and highs were balanced equally with no one particular sound quality over powering the other. However in the way of bass that is a different story. Do you love hard hitting bass while listening to some of your rap and hip hop songs? Well this is the headset for you then. On the left ear cup there is a slider that adjust bass sound based on your preference. Slide it down for low to no bass or slide it up for full bass output. In the full up position the bass hits so hard that you can actually feel the speakers reverberating inside your headphones. It literally felt like i was back in highschool sitting in the back of my buddys car while his two 12" subs would hit on full force while listening to our favorite rap song. Yes, that's how intense the bass hits. It is the only sound that will over power all others on full load. The bass, as loud as it was, still came out very clean and not once sounded distorted as if the drivers were being over worked. Now one cool feature i want to comment on about this unit is the built in Tile feature via the free app. If you don't know what Tile is, its those little tile pieces that you can attach to important things such as your keys or wallet so that in the event you lose said item you can track it via the built in GPS. This unit works the same way. Lets say you lose your headset or can't remember where you put it. Simply go in to your app, pull up the Tile feature and it will tell you the location it was last pinged. Once you get to that location a radar like beacon will appear which will start making noise the closer you get to your unit. Pretty cool right? The unit also comes with a built in 3.5 mm jack and cable in the event that your headset dies you can still listen to music. If this is the case just don't expect ANC to work or the extra bass feature. I don't want to get down in to the main specs as that can be read off of Best Buy's website but these are some of the cool features that you wouldn't know about unless you bought this headset and tried it out for yourself. Here's the bottom line. Is this the best ANC headset out there? No. In fact there are better big brand name headsets out there that will block almost all outside noise. However with ANC turned on and your music playing i am almost certain that you will get no noise coming. The claimed 24hr battery life is a very nice feature which means less down time for your headset. The usb-c cable means that off a dead battery you can expect full charge in a hour or less. The added slider for the bass means that this unit will please just about any bass head out there. The flexibility of the band and chassis means that you can take this with you where ever you go and not have to worry about this unit snapping or getting damaged. Overall this head unit is a good buy and sure to please most people out there. Pros: -Good battery life -Durability -Fast charge times -Big bass -Good sound quality -built in Tile Cons: -no way to adjust ANC level

The Crusher ANC headphones deliver handily on Skullcandy's promise to take the user to a "deeper dimension of sound" by delivering strong, deep bass and crisp treble and vocals. Adding to the depth of sound is a haptic bass slider that allows the wearer to fine tune to their liking how much the headphones thump on deep bass. The haptic bass shines especially when listening to EDM music as the sheer thumpiness seems to rival that of a full on concert. Pairing to my phone via Bluetooth was a breeze, and its range is very strong. The battery charges via USB-C and holds its charge very well, the headphones will last a few days before needing to be recharged. In addition to the haptic bass slider on the left ear, the headphones come with power, pairing, and ambient / noise cancelling controls on the left ear and media controls on the right ear. The layout is relatively easy to get used to, though you may find yourself accidentally triggering the ambient / noise cancelling controls while trying to adjust your haptic bass slider. Aside Bluetooth, the headphones come with an aux cord that delivers equal quality sound. You can turn the headset off and continue listening with the aux cord, though you will need to keep the headphones powered on to listen using the haptic bass. The headphones are very comfortable to wear for long periods of time thanks to the soft ear and head pads. The headphones are primarily made of plastic instead of metal as opposed to this model's predecessor, despite that the build quality remains very solid. I expect to be using these headphones for several years. The Crusher ANC is a very solid set of headphones that could possibly ruin every other set of headphones for you.

After using the very first wired pair of skull crushers released in 2011, then the redos and the wireless and the 360’s I cannot even begin to Find a fault with the newest iteration of their most famous pair. I love these headphones so much and am so happy and blessed to have these. The highs and lows reach unprecedented levels and the bass slider tweaks the sound just perfect, not to mention the personal sound by the Skullcandy app. In short, I would ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND THESE HEADphones! They rock!!!!!!’

I would recommend this to a friend
