Price, sound, fit- hard to beat

I was debating between these, the Beats Solo 3 and the Beats Studio Wireless. First these were less expensive (often go on sale and Best Buy price matches- don't pay full MSRP for the Skullcandy) by over $50 even when the Beats Studio was on a killer sale. The price helped seal deal but the quality of the product and sound of the Crushers are what got me interested in them. The best I can describe these is a mix of the Solo and Studios. These have noise isolation (not cancelling) and will cup your entire ear, not sit on them like the Solos. The Skullcandys are low profile and just a little bigger than the Solos. The sounds on the Crushers are awesome. I was worried the bass would sound fake, it does not. The bass is completely adjustable and even if you are not into bass you can tone it down without compromising the rest of the sound. The equalizer on the iPhone helps pick the right sound you are looking for and then you can crank up the bass. I have not taken a call on them. They are easy to pair and easy to get fired up once paired. No issues with bluetooth connection. The only issue I see with them is they are not as light/low profile as the Solos. I am an active person and while the Skullcandys are pretty low profile I don't think they will work in most active situations. The Crushers will probably do okay lifting weights but no way will they work for cardio. The Solos are a little better at this than the Crushers, but that was never a question because the Solos go on your ear and the Crushers go over- just naturally bigger. The sound is where it is at with these, I doubt there is anything better around the $150-$250 price range and these are on the lower end of the scale. All in all a great value.

Absolutely loved these! I had them for 4.5 years. Anytime I did anything by myself like yard work, house work, out for a run id have these on. They were used everyday since the day i bought them. They did end up breaking while i was cutting down trees and a branch fell on my head. They actually saved me hear from getting hit and, but sadly they broke. They were my favorite and well worth the price. I got new sony ones and they dont feel as durable as these. The noise canceling was really good, but there is better out there now. The bass adjustment was awesome. I listen to tons of different music and sometimes i wanted more bass and sometimes i wanted less. 10 outta 10 for sure. And the color! I havmd the white and tan. Just looked slick

The soft ear pieces fall off and do not stay on the headphones. I would not purchase these again for that reason.

Skullcandy - Crusher 3.0 Wireless Over-the-Ear Headphones - Black : $99.99 I was looking for a pair of headphones that would be inexpensive and provide good bass. To be honest, I wish I had spent more time looking and trying on different headphones before I got these Skullcandy Crusher 3.0 Wireless headphones. In the box, you get the headphones, a Get Started card with small print, a user guide, a warranty pamphlet, 1/8 to 1/8 inch plug to plug into an audio port, a USB A to C cable that is about 4.25 inches long in total and really about 1.5 inches usable. Since I have a long USB-C cable always plugged into a wall charger, I tend to use that to charge things. But the short USB A to C I like to collect and use in the car to charge my phone so I can't pick up my phone while driving. What immediately draws my eyes to the headphones are the buttons. They are easy to interpret and easy to find. Volume buttons are '+' and '-'. The power button sits in between. The base boost is controlled by a slider. Then below the base boost slider are your USB C charge port and audio in port. The headband is silicone based and has a groove that I've been using to set onto a hook when the headphones are not in use. Battery Life is expected to be 50 hours on a charge. Charging takes about 2.5 hours and can fast charge with 4 hours in 10 minutes. Despite what specifications show, there is no carrying case included with these Cruster 3.0 headphones. There is no app that provides additional control. While there is a Skullcandy app, it only provides information on the Crusher 3 headphones. In some cases this is good, you don't want features locked behind and app. But on the other hand if you want to adjust the EQ, you aren't able to do that. There is no ANC with this model of headphones which is fine for my purposes because I mainly use these with my main computer to watch videos. First time wearing these Skullcandy Crusher 3 Wireless Over-the-Ear-Headphones I was disappointed with the design. The first one to catch my attention is that the ear cups aren't large enough. I couldn't easily fit the ear cups around my ears. Eventually I was able to do this, but it doesn't provide enough "wiggle" room when placing them over my ears. After taking some measurements, it confirmed that the ear cups are about 5 mm too narrow. The second thing I noticed is that while the ear cups can pivot vertically, they do not pivot horizontally. This is a big comfort issue for me. Without the horizontal pivoting action, the ear cups don’t conform to my head very well and add pressure unevenly around my ears. The third design point is that the hinges that allow the collapsing action of the headphones are only capturing 1/3 of the band width. To me, that signals a failure point if these headphones are dropped. If I look at some other reviews, this has happened to a few disappointed customers. Let's get to the audio quality. The audio is nice and clear. The adjustable bass is fantastic, you really do feel the bass when you turn them up. Overall, if you're looking for crazy bass that you can feel, these Crusher 3.0 Wireless headphones have you covered. However, the design left me wanting more. I would recommend anyone trying these on for a while before purchasing. If they're comfortable for you, go for it.

    Skull-thumping headphones with surprising clarity!

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

First off, these are full-size circumaural headphones that fit completely around your ears. The ear cups are covered with memory foam ear cushions that do an admirable job of isolating noise. It doesn't quite provide noise cancelling isolation but it's pretty darn close! The headphones themselves feature wireless Bluetooth connectivity, call, audio track, and volume controls, a backup AUX cable with Microphone and remote, and a bass slider on one of the ear cups that allows you to adjust to amount of brain-rattling bass to your individual tastes. Stereo Haptic bass modules buried in each ear cup are what's responsible for the enhanced, skull-thumping bass. My wife, a self-professed bass head loves these cans. In fact, she can't stop saying enough good things about them. Myself, well, I'm more of a Bowers and Wilkins kind of guy. Still, these cans had me intrigued. I decided that I couldn't do a proper review without testing them myself. Placing the bass slider all the way down resulted in sound that I found to be heavy on the bass. Surprisingly, all that bass wasn't able to wash out the midrange or the highs. They're still there, they're just a wee bit muffled by all that bass. Turning the bass enhancer up even a little muddied the sound far too much for my tastes. However, enabling Treble Booster in iTunes went a long way towards evening things out. Finally, I turned off the wireless and connected the Crushers to my Apogee Groove AMP/DAC which dramatically improved the overall sound considerably. Sure, the sound was still bass heavy, but the Groove really mellowed it out and brought out the midrange and highs. If you're a bass head, these are the headphones for you. If you're a bass head who wants a little clarity then these are for you too! Skip the Beats folks and grab a pair of these head-stomping Crushers!
