I ordered these as I saw they were Bluetooth. I was able to connect them to my phone using the skull candy app. I was not able to connect them to my PC via Bluetooth which was a big disappointment. Then I notice it had less that 15 days to return which it has now passed. I should just keep ordering tech from Amazon. At least they give you 30 days…

Overall I want to love them, they’re nostalgic from a time when I owned a pair of Skullcandy headphones. They weren’t the best in the world but they were nice enough and very reasonably priced that losing them outdoors or damaging them wasn’t a thought. At the time these became an option, I noticed their MSRP at $79.99, which seems a bit steep for what you actually get. But at the time of writing I witnessed $64.xx which makes for a more reasonable range. So before you ask yourself why I’m just pointing out its price. Here’s a few of the witnessed flaws. My phone pairs with it just fine, it has no issues at all. Doing anything with them like hopping on a treadmill or anything outdoors while my phones in my pocket also leads to no issues. But after several minutes the Skullcandy app always disconnects with the earbuds shouting that they did. If you don’t open the app the message repeats itself “disconnected”, “connected”, “disconnected” etc. To be honest, I haven’t been able to tolerate it and leave alone to see how long does this keep up. Paired with my PC, if I’m in front of the desk I have no issues. But if I roll the seat away and sit about 5 ft from the desktop, I get breaking and a weird underwater-like sound. Normally, being too far from the other device you’re connecting Bluetooth with produces cracking sounds or static, so the underwater effect is beyond any ideas I can produce. The gel inserts are also pretty generic. Almost every brand I’ve used has had a memory gel like material that's soft to the touch. Skullcandy has a quishy gel that has a rough exterior, similar to the rough texture you get from the rubber padding under surround speakers or most electronics. But possibly the strangest flaw, putting the buds back in the case when you’ve just finished using them doesn’t always seem to disconnect. There’s been several occasions when I pull them out and back in the case only to realize later on that my phone is still connected to something. After looking at the Bluetooth settings I find that it is the Grind earbuds. It’s really odd as I’ve never seen that happen with any other earbud before, once in the case the connection ends. The very last bit to add, the case itself feels very cheaply made. 1 drop from elbow height and the top breaks off. The material also feels very thin. On the positive side of things, they have a very long battery life. Skullcandy states 31 hours for the case and an additional 8 hours in the earbud. I’ve definitely exceeded 24 hours of use and they still have a full charge in the earbud and around 25% in the case. This is also the same charge that came in the product as I have not needed to charge it once. I will say that my use case is a lot more modest than most users however. I’ll use 1 bud at a time and stay around 25% volume. The only exception to that is when pairing with a TV or desktop to watch something on a larger screen. Sound quality is pretty good, it won’t blow you away but I’ve heard worse. On a scale of 1-10 this sits at about 6 with TV, 7 in music. Lastly, making them water resistant makes them a good companion to take to exercise. The addition of adding a method to track them across Tile adds to that. But I can’t get behind the lack of it’s awareness on the packaging. They include a tiny logo on the front of the box and the feature in small text on the back. Yet, most products that include another companies technology usually display their logos more prominently on their packaging. I’d probably miss that if I was shopping in the store for a pair of earbuds, then possibly notice it as I were un-packaging the product. Although to be honest, I never noticed Tiles compatibility until I saw something mentioned in the app.
