Awesome headphones, but they don't last

The wires are quite thin, which I'm a big fan of. However, after owning them for just over a year, one of the sides no longer outputs media, which is frankly annoying. It's a shame because these are otherwise great products, but for the price I guess my expectations on longevity were a bit much.
