Good earbuds, bad case
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The earbuds are fine and the ANC is decent. The case, however, is horrible. My biggest problem with it is there no way to tell the right earbud from the left in dim lighting. This is a real shame as the earbuds are very competitive for the price point.

Great design and Value
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had not purchased a Skullcandy headphones set in many years, knowing them as a good but lower and headphone brand. I have been looking for higher quality, more reliable headsets, which work both with my Apple and android phones. Most recently I have been using the over the ear beats, but I find the case, large and reliability inconsistent, especially in regards to charging and unilateral use. I have been looking for a quality headset that was better than the inexpensive brands but not as expensive as two to $300 brands. The Skullcandy ANC headset says the sound is provided by Bose.I have an older. I have an older but still excellent pair of Bose over the ear noise canceling headsets and was pleasantly surprised that the noise canceling in both the awareness mode and the normal mode are excellent and these earplugs. The earplugs are also shaped in such a way that I am able to use them on the climber without them falling out, which is not my experience with other earbud types. The degree of noise canceling of course it’s less than an over. The ear sat, but still very helpful other earbud types. They degree of noise canceling of course it’s less than an over the ear set but still very helpful in loud environments. The app Is a bit busy but does provide full control and customization allowing you to program the number of finger taps for various functions. There is also availability for equalization which I found unnecessary with most types of music. The microphone is also fairly good. The charging life seems to be excellent. The case design is also excellent with a translucent cover, which allows the headphones to say, securely in place with magnets and allows you to visualize the light On the earbud without opening the case. The case slides open rather than a clamshell, and the case is elongated and has a strap which makes it more convenient to carry in a pocket or in a messenger bag. Overall, I am pleased, and these earbuds will now be my primary pair for exercise!

Great Sound and Extra Nice Charging Case
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These earbuds have been very comfortable after several hours of use, which is a very important test for me, as I'm prone to ear aches. There are half a dozen extra gel pads so you can get the right fit for your ears. The pairing was flawless. The power on design is simple, just remove them from the case. The first pairing takes just a few seconds press/hold and the buds appeared ‘ready to pair’ every time, whether I was using my laptop or my cell phone. Note you need to pair them with your phone first. Later you can connect them in the SkullCandy app. Be sure to use the newer Skull IQ app, not the old SkullCandy app. I really appreciated the very special charging case that has been designed for these buds. They snap into place magnetically. The case is a cut above in that it is not only sturdy but it has a very functional sliding design including a keyring to hook to either my backpack; or some folks may use as a keychain. A tiip of the cap to the Skullcandy design engineers. The sound is robust with plenty of bass and is crisp and clear both for music and cell phone calls. I have used many earbuds, these have the most vibrant sound and they also have a very good noise cancelling function. The Skull IQ app is where you can alter equalizer settings and other useful features like Hearing Modes which includes a very important 'Stay Aware' function. The app is well thought out, it also provides you a lot of useful product information. The charge time was as advertised and I am pleased with these buds as to functionality and sound. I would highly recommend them.

Bad battery.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was super excited to get these earbuds. And the only headphones I get are Skullcandy, but these were kind of disappointing. I use these at work and only use one bud at a time and it doesnt even last until lunch! I had to send it in for warranty. Hopefully they fix the issue! Battery life isnt great! coming from the Rail ANCs.

They're Great! - When They Don't Disconnect...
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When I first took the headphones out of the charger case I dropped them. You have to be careful pulling them out of the case and putting them back in. If you've had airpods before you would know it does not matter how you orient them, they will eventually be pulled in the right direction and sit inside the case correctly. For these that's not the case so just be more careful. These came charged so I was able to test them right away. I did have to glance at the manual on how to pair them. I thought I could just do it myself, but you have to be pay attention to the lights these give off. Also, when you put them in your ears, they will say pairing mode so that is another indication. The first time I put them in my ears I did not hear that. The voice that gives you feedback is nearly twice as loud as your music. It is the voice that will say things like "pairing mode," "disconnected" or "noise cancelling mode." I do feel like they need to quieten the voice a lot. They also recommend downloading two companion applications. Skullcandy and Skull-IQ. As of this writing the Skullcandy application does not recognize the headphones. This is fine because the Skull-IQ app does, and you are able to do a variety of features with it. You are able to tap the buds for them to do features just like most other earbuds. However, the tap does not always work, so I usually slide my finger down them. So for example if I'm doing a double tap I'll slide my finger down the earbuds twice really quick. It's also gentler on my ears to do it this way. At the top of the companion app it shows the battery. You can also tap on that section to see if there is a firmware update. The next section is the hearing mode page. ANC On, ANC Off & Stay Aware. The noise cancelling seems to be powered by Bose. For $100 headphones these are what you expect. Not the best noise cancelling but pretty good. These modes can be cycled through by tapping on the headphones. There is an intensity level slider which can adjust the amount of "Noise Cancelling" or "Stay Aware" that affects the buds. Equalizer page just has set presets and these are the options: music, bass boost, podcast & custom. Skullcandy is known for their bass so that is the one I picked. I have to say, it has not disappointed. On the button settings page I changed the mapping a lot. I removed the ability to turn off ANC. I removed the Spotify tap feature. You can program the left and right headphones to their own controls. For example, double tapping my left earbud will go the previous track. This was not the default. There is a single tap which I have programmed to pause/play. There is also a triple tap and one second hold. These taps can change volume, take a photo, activate your phone's assistant and answer calls. Note: The custom programming for this got reset once without my intervention and I'm not sure how. The Spotify tap feature will cycle through your most recent collections you've listened to. Recent albums, liked songs, playlists, etc. Essentially the music at the at top of your app. This is a feature I have off. I usually just listen to my liked songs anyway. There are a few features I have not tried like multipoint pairing or low latency audio. I'm not planning on using these with more than one device or gaming with these. But it's cool that these could be your all in one headphone device. I've never been someone who likes in-ear headphones. These did not change that for me. Although I will get a use out of these, I would never use these for long term usage. If I need to wear headphones for a long time I will use over-the-ear or air pods. They are more comfortable. These do fit snug. You do not need to worry about these falling out of your ear if you have the right size tip on. In my opinion the charging case is a little big. There is a clip loop on it so you can attach it to your bag, your pant's loop or something else. I always put my airpods case in a pocket and this case doesn't always fit the same pockets I've been using. The website advertises over 30+ hours of ANC on. I think they could've sacrificed some playtime for a case that isn't 4 times as large as competitors. Here is where I'm going to need to take away one star. I get connectivity issues. Sometimes I put in the headphones and only one plays music. Then I have to put them both back in the case and then pull them out. Have had to do that a dozen times already. Sometimes one bud will have a static noise playing. So I will have to put them both back in the case and pull them out. Here is the most annoying bit. It has happened to me twice where I kept trying to get the one bud to play music. I put it in the case and pulled it out of the case. The bud does not even make an audible tone. I followed the instructions they recommended. So I tried disconnecting and reconnecting. Only one bud works still. I tried these steps multiple times and I read the sheet, it says you can hold on the buds for 6 seconds to do a factory reset/clear paired device list. It will also put it in pairing mode. That worked but it's insane the amount of times it just does not work. It makes me wonder too, I know that trick now, but what if I took these headphones on a plane and did not know about that trick. The app is not helpful because it loads a website of a guide, not a guide that can be built into the app. Maybe the connectivity would be better if I was an android user? They got all these features, some cool, some gimmicks but at the end of the day, I need headphones that work 100% of the time whenever I'm taking them out of the case. As is it right now, it's maybe a 90% chance they will work normal. These are something I can still recommend to people. There is a possibility these get better with a firmware update. However, at this moment, if you're planning a run, or a workout you need to factor in a couple extra minutes before, because you might have to fully disconnect these and repair them before you start. I would recommend not putting these back into the case if you're talking to someone, or leaving them out of your ears for too long, because they will get weird on you. Then you'll have to spend another couple minutes repairing...

These Are The Real Deal!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am writing this review for the Skullcandy Method 360 ANC True Wireless Noise Cancelling Earbuds. As I unpacked the Skullcandy Method earbuds, the very first thought I had was, “What the….?” As with every other pair of self-charging earbuds I own, I was expecting some version of a smallish box-like holder, not a longish sliding cylinder-type holder. But there it was. A million thoughts were going through my mind, but I decided to wait until after I had tested these earbuds out before I passed any judgment. Like I just said, the earbuds come in a rather unique holder, somewhat akin to a Pez candy dispenser. As I slid the cover down, I noticed each earbud had its own side for storage. Due to its unique (yet intriguing) design, getting the earbuds out was a bit of a struggle, so much so that I have discovered the easiest way to dislodge them is to simply lightly-slap the case across the edge of my cupped hand. This is most likely due to the fact that I don’t have long slender fingers or long fingernails, both of which would make retrieving the earbuds much easier. This isn’t to say that getting them out of the holder is super difficult, its just that the earbuds themselves are very sleek and smooth, and there is a tendency to shoot them off into space, much like squeezing a greased marble. I couldn’t help but marvel at the overall design of the Skullcandy Method earbuds. Although similar in design to other earbuds, they are able to lay claim to their own little niche. For example, as I unpacked the earbuds from their product box, I noticed that not only do they come with the standard three-size ear tips, but they also come with three different sizes of what Skullcandy calls “Fit Fins.” It was not until after I put the first earbud in that I discovered how remarkably ingenious and practical these Fit Fins really are! As I placed the first earbud in my ear, I was stunned (in a very good way) by how perfectly it fit into my ear! And when I say perfectly, I mean perfectly! I knew immediately that as far as fit goes, these are probably the most absolute best earbuds on the planet. Its like they’re not something stuck in your ear, but rather it is as though they seamlessly become a part of your ear. Yes, you can feel them, but at the same time you almost don’t. The Fit Fins adapt to the shape of your ear canal and create a perfect fit, sealing out airflow and background noises. There is no cramming them into the ear, you simply insert, and give a little twist. That’s it. I knew after putting them in my ear that these were going to be those earbuds I never had to worry about losing, whether just taking it easy at home, or working out in the gym. I have even shook my head forcefully for several seconds just trying to get them to come out, and they just won’t. As with all earbuds, there is a bit of learning to do to understand how the controls work. In the end, the controls are exactly like most other earbuds…Play/Pause, Next, ANC modes, Accept/End Call. Now, they do have their own unique controls as well in that you can surf recommendations using the Spotify app. I can’t speak much about this feature because I don’t use Spotify, but the concept is good. The real question is, how do they sound? The answer is, “Remarkable!” Skullcandy partnered with Bose to produce a sound experience that in my opinion is far superior to any other earbud on the market at this price. With Bose’s own proprietary audio tuning technology, the Method earbuds produce rich bass, clear mids and crisp highs. Now although that may sound like a blurb from the Method specs, one cannot wear these and not come away with any other description that would be suitable. As I went through all my playlists to choose various music, I was continuously amazed at the sound delivery, even at highest volume. Absolutely zero distortion. I will say this however, that I somewhat expected the max volume to be greater than it is with the Method earbuds. But the more I thought about it, I could see the reasoning behind a somewhat limited max volume…to prevent hearing loss. Gotta give Skullcandy their props for looking out for us! To get down to where the rubber meets the road, these are some great sounding and great fitting earbuds. I have two other sets of earbuds that come in at around 4X the price of the Methods, but because of the superior fit and the great ANC capabilities, the Methods are now my primary choice. Make no mistake about it, the Skullcandy Method 360 ANC True Wireless Noise Cancelling Earbuds are the real deal. Do yourself a huge favor and get yourself a pair

Amazing Bose Sound In Your Ears
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Instructions are extremely easy compared to some earbuds I have had in the past. You just need to follow the very simple instructions in the guide that comes with them. These instructions aren’t as confusing as some earbuds instructions can be. After charging the earbuds, they will give you about 10 hours of listening time. Put the earbuds back in the case (x2) and you can get another 20 hours more of life from the case before needing to be fully charged again. My one downfall is that there is no wireless charging with these, but for the price, I wouldn't complain. You have to use the USB-C cable that comes with these to charge them. The sound coming out of these earbuds is truly amazing. Since they state the sound is by Bose, this is not surprising. With the Skull-iQ app to change the equalizer to your preference, you will get the best sound for you, no matter what you are watching or listening to. You will want to download the Skull-iQ App to get the best out of these earbuds. The app allows you to change the equalizer to the three different presets and customize it to your taste from your phone or tablet. You are able to change hearing modes like ANC (noise canceling) and stay aware of your surroundings. You can even change the button settings to your liking on your earbuds, like how to answer or end calls, etc. Change the setting to whatever works best for you. I love this option!!! When you first look at the case for these earbuds, some may think it is rather large to carry around in your pocket. However, with the clip that comes on the case, you can easily attach it to a jacket, backpack or the belt loop on your jeans. I think having the clip is an excellent idea for many reasons. The size of the clip itself is a bit large (more like a key chain), so that you can hang it. I hang my ear bud case near the kitchen door on the wall key holder when not in use. This way the earbuds and case are easily accessible when leaving the house. I am less likely to forget them. Also, I don’t have to be searching the house to find them. This is a huge plus in my estimation. I have lost a few earbuds in the past. I would recommend these for the sound quality alone with Skullcandy teaming with Bose on these earbuds and they are very comfortable in my ears. I think another great plus is all of the additional things you can do to make them custom to what you like for great sound.

Not worth it
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I hate them . I was sucked in by the color range price and bose endorsement. First issue is they barely fit in your ear, even trying all the different options. They're also extremely heavy, so constant worry of them falling out. The case I thought it was cute at first and I'd really love it. But it's again so big. So heavy unnecessarily big. I'm actually gonna see if I can return them.

Great headset with strong sound but a chunky case!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. On the whole, this is a really nice true wireless headset from Skullcandy. The basics are all there with solid battery life (both in the headset itself and even more in the charging case), great comfort while wearing (the changable "wing" sizes allows for great balance between comfort and a secure fit, and I never felt like they were going to fall out unlike other competitor products that I've tried) and great sound on both the listening and the microphones for picking up speaking. The shape of the headset is a bit more ergonomic than other "pocket" sized headsets I've tried with a small projection where the microphone sits to point it at / get it closer to your mouth for better sound. The headset was easy to get going - it charges fast and the setup / pairing process with my newer iPhone was pretty seamless. You can also install the Skullcandy app for more customization / settings particularly in the soundstage, but you don't have to use it if you don't want to. And the whole thing seems to be pretty well made, like it should be quite durable and last a while in use. So that's all really good, right? And they ARE really good - hence the 5 star review. But I do wish that the case was a bit smaller. At 3 3/4" x 1 1/2" x 1 1/4" (roughly - the edges are round, etc. - and there's a permanently installed rubber lanyard connector that extends beyond that size), it's pretty big to be truly "pocketable" unlike competitor offerings. That's partially due to the shape of the headset pieces (they're each fairly big themselves) but also due to the design of the case. I do think there's be a way to make a more compact case without giving up headset shape or other functionality. That said, using this headset at home with my computer to attend Zoom calls and listen to music, I don't mind a touch bigger case - and the quality / ease of use and great sound make these an easy recommend and far outweigh how portable the case is. So if you're ok with a slightly bigger case, these are a great headset option from a solid company. Give them a try today!

Supurb value, worth every penny.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I saw these headphones at this price point and figured I'd give these a chance. A few of my older sets are wearing out and my higher end ones I don't like to use outdoors doing things . I had good luck with another entry level set from skullcandy,so these with “sound by bose” and so I said yes. I have a soundbar by bose in my bedroom and it's fantastic, and these here are also. Fit, feal and build is excellent. These are rhe most secure earbuds I have short of the ones with over the ear clips. The touch controls are very responsive. There are 3 sets of seals and bud tips to switch around to get a good seal. These have an additional rubber piece to fit into the lobe of the ear, and it helps a ton. The application is top notch. Band customizable equilozer, 3 descent presets, and then the buttons you can set up for 1,2,3 taps and long hold. Then you can set how to tap on or off calls. You can assign a virtual assistant or streaming service also. I don't use either, but it's there. Now the sound on these. Holy cow. I have sets 2 to 4 times the cost of these that these can keep right with. The active noise cancellation is just fantastic. Things are crisp, symmetrical, and can give you a great 3d like sound in your head and shut out the outside world. Punchy bass, and clear upper tones. Skullcandy to me doesn't carry the “premium” label in my mind as does bose, and looking at these, the box is the only thing that lets you know that. I like that because it won't draw attention to people with nepharious purposes, and for kids that are sensitive to brand labels, all you have to do is get them to listen to these, and if they let their brains and logic drive them, there would be no need to spend more for earbuds. I have had these for a week and the battery life is enough to get through a day as much as i use them, and they claim 40 hours with the rapid charge case. These could be the best value last set of earbuds you buy. Comfortable, superb sound and controls. Without hesitation, 5 stars. Just excellent ear buds. These buds are a fantatic value.
