    Pretty Good...But Could Be Great

The Skullcandy Push 720 Open Ear True Wireless Bluetooth Earbuds are a very intriguing piece of kit. Open back-style headphone sound in a tiny, completely wireless (should you have a compatible wireless charger) package. In theory, a great alternative to far more expensive ANC-bearing options that have a passthrough mode at less than half the price. The execution, however, is another story. To be clear, I really REALLY like the concept here. I just don't think they're quite fully-baked yet. Build quality-wise these are great. They feel fairly premium. I'm not quite sure what the thinking was behind the cloth case with the squeeze-to-open functionality. It's OK, but I'd much rather a flip top like most other cases have. That would make them more pocketable and I don't see why that couldn't be something they fix in a future revision either. The buds themselves are comfortable. The buttons on them are well-placed and intuitive to use. I do wish that the soft, flexible, silicone part also had a way to adjust how tight they are head to your ear. The shapes of everyone's ears are different and some of us (like me) might really like to add some extra grip to keep them exactly where we place them when we put them on. As it is right now, unless I stay complete still, they're shifting into a sub-optimal listening angle after I take a few steps. I have also heard of these falling out of peoples' ears completely. While I did not have that experience, it did not surprise me. As for the most important aspect, the sound quality is more than acceptable. You're not going to get super bass from these, but then, if that's what you want you shouldn't be looking at these in the first place. These are for people that want to listen to their music while still being able to hear what's going on around them, and they do that well. All in all, these have a lot of promise and I could see many being perfectly happy with them. I look forward to the next iteration to sit if any of the improvements I've mentioned make it in.

    Signature sound with a twist

In the box is a starter guide, the headphones and their respective cloth case, and an environmentally friendly USB-C cord (no charging brick included). First Impression - Right out of the box, the headphone case immediately caught my eye as it’s a partially cloth case that opens like an old coin purse. Not a wallet, a genuine coin purse where you squeeze it and the top pops open to reveal the inside. It also has a carabiner ring attached to easily hang on a bag or keychain; personally it’s small enough in my opinion to even keep on a lanyard, which is where I’ve been keeping it for the most part while working. After pulling the safety tape off and placing them in the case, I pulled them right back out and they were already blinking ready to pair. Comfort - Wearing them for the first time, it became quickly apparent that I would need to take off my earrings when I wear these earbuds. This is not to depreciate the design by any means, as I have three piercings on each lobe so it’s likely just a problem few users will deal with. Once they were nestled properly, I was reminded why Skull Candy used to be one of my favorite companies. Sound - The sound was explosive; yet clear, and the buds yield more bass than some other clip on style buds I’ve tried in the past. My only complaint is it seems like during calls, people on the other end have told me my voice is coming through quieter with the headphones. Battery Life - The headphones themselves last around seven or eight hours of music, and charge in the case three to four times depending on if both buds were completely dead or not. Overall I’m impressed with Skull Candy’s drive to continue into newer more modern designs while still keeping their same quality sound. These headphones would make a great gift for anyone in the family that’s very active, or just enjoys the open ear experience of this headphone type. I myself am more partial to Skull Candy’s more classic design, and am looking forward to see what they come up with in the near and far future.

All day comfort with good sound

I’m always searching for a more comfortable, better sounding ear bud. I wear some type of earphone/bud pretty much all day at work. I think these Skullcandy Push 720’s have come close to perfect for me. When I want peace and quiet I’ll put on some over the ear noise canceling and bury myself in work. Normally I need and want to hear what's going on around me, so I’ll wear an in ear type, but only wear 1 at a time. The problem with those is, they fit tight in your ear and are fairly comfortable, and sound good, but give me sore ears after a while. The Skullcandy Push 720’s combine the best features. The ‘clip on’ form factor fits my ear well. The sound is very good for not having a bud sealed into your ear canal or a full muff over the top of your ear. As far as comfort goes, I can wear them all day and not get sore or irritated ears from pressure points or anything else. I can leave them on all day and pretty much forget they are on. I can listen to good sounding music and at the same time be having a conversation with someone. While wearing them I don't notice any decrease in volume or clarity of the ‘ambient’ noise around me either. A couple other notes: Advertised battery life from the bud is 6hrs, I am getting low battery notices at about 4hrs, so maybe not quite up to advertised specs. On the same note the quick charge feature works well. Bluetooth range is pretty good Skullcandy has a YouTube video on setup/operation and is well worth your time to watch. My biggest gripe about the Push 720’s is the charging ‘case’. It’s bigger than it needs to be, and is difficult to get the buds in and out. I would have much preferred a standard type case with a hinge lid. Overall the Push720’s are great in sound quality at the same time as being able to hear what’s going on around me, but the case is just aggravating to me getting the buds in and out so I’m docking 1 star.

Great sound in an odd package

Overall, I really like these Skullcandy open ear true wireless headphones. They do look a bit odd compared to the more normal tiny "buds" or bud with a "stick" hanging down designs that other manufacturers use, but once you put them on, they're both comfortable and stay put which is what you're really looking for after all. They're not quite as open ear as some others that I've tried, but they do let sound in which is the goal of an open ear design. As far as functionality, Skullcandy isn't a new entrant into the field and so you do get all the expected features with easy connections to various platforms via Bluetooth, an app to customize the sound profile, great battery life, and solid sound - both on the listening and speaking end. I had no problem being clearly understood on a call and understanding the other speakers. The earbuds also seem to be well-built, and should prove to be highly durable in use. The only odd thing here - and the reason I did remove a star - is that the earbuds aren't as pocketable as I would like, which has less to do with the earbuds themselves and more to do with the case. Skullcandy decided to make the charging case (which you really do have to take with you when you take these on the go) a sizeable pouch instead of a smaller flip case like competeing solutions. While that makes these buds stand out, it also makes for a MUCH larger case that is harder to take with you on the go. A very odd decision for what is supposed to be a premium mobile product. Charging pouch aside, I do think these are solid open ear earbuds and well worth a look if you're in the market for a new way to enjor your favorite music or calls without fully block out the outside world.

I'm really into the design of these clip on ear buds. I like not having something in my ear canal and I also thing that they just look cool. Since they let in basically all the ambient sound, they are really good for wearing around the house or working out or going for a jog. I ride the subway every day, and when it goes underground, these do not cut the mustard. I had to move the sound driver and press it directly into my ear canal and hold it there with my finger in order to hear the show that I was watching on my phone. The charging pouch has an interesting design. It's more like a coin purse than a piece of technology. I like that it has a clip so you can attach the pouch to a strap on your bag or to your belt loop or wherever is convenient. Since it's not really obvious which side is the front, I usually get a nagging feeling that I put the ear buds in backwards. During music play back, there is a slight distortion at the beginning of every song. I'm not sure if it is due to the Bluetooth pairing or interference or something, as it's only when the earbuds initially begin playing audio and not during the rest of the song. Also, if you have long hair that you habitually tuck behind your ears, either find a new nervous habit or wear your hair up when wearing these, as you will definitely knock them off your ears

    Good open ear headphones

These are really comfortable headphones. Open ear pretty well removes the need for noise cancellation. The sound is good without being overwhelming. I can't find any issue with the headphones themselves. The case can be Qi recharged if you have a flat charger. If you have a charger that resembles a phone stand or is at an angle of any type, you won't be able to wirelessly charge the case, My only gripe, I am not fond of this case at all. It reminds me of an old ladies change purse. There really is not a lot of protection given. The buds can fall out of the charging dock in your backpack . The only good thing is, they won't fall out of the headphone bag. To say the least it is a curious design choice. The one other bright spot, you can keep the charging cable in the case. Another odd choice, I had to install another Skull Candy app on my phone. Why does it seem like they keep releasing new apps for every new headset they sell? I think I have 3 different Skull Candy apps right now. I have a set of Skull Candy in ear noise cancelling buds I use when I don't need to hear the outside world with it's own app. One app to rule them all would be great. Overall, I am happy with the headphones, just not enamored with the case.

I consider myself very knowledgeable about headphones and earbuds. I've owned and tried so many brands and all types from in ear, open ear, bone conduction, noise cancellations, passive nose cancellation etc. Expensive to super cheap and that's just with earbuds. The Skullcandy 720 fits in a funny position. First off, the charging case is the most unique I've ever encounter and, honestly, I'm still trying to figure if I like it or not. It has a key ring which you can hook onto things with and with it's, pouch design, I feel like if dropped, your earbuds are not going to go flying away. But, with that, I always notice it when I put it in my pant pocket. The earbuds themselves are like most other clip style open earbuds. The fit was comfortable enough, but I did notice I would feel the back part of my ear feel a little irratated after prolong use. The sound quality is very good for an open ear. If you like heavy bass, then because of the nature of the design, you won't get that with these type of earbuds. But what you will get is situational awareness. You will be able to hear your surrondings which is necessary if you run on the streets. Call quality is also very good. In my test call with my wife, at the gym, she heard very minimal background noise and heard my voice clearly. The thing I love most though is a physical button. I hate hate hate touch controls. Maybe because I'm just old. LOL. Multipoint connections is another must today. I am surprised when earbuds that cost over $100 doesn't have that feature. Skullcandy hit all the right marks with these earbuds. The app is good, nothing lacking. The controls are easy and inutitive. Sound is good, again, open ears are not going to give you that stadium feel. Still trying to decide on this case though. LOL.

The Skull candy Push 720 wireless earphones have been great. I have used them several times up to 8 hours per day and yeah, the cartridge on your ear can hurt if you have big ears like I do. But dont let that deter you from getting them. The fit like a fitted shirt loop around your ear and they do not go into your ear like other buds. These sit just outside your ear hole and allow you to listen to crisp sounding music as well as the environment around you, however, always be aware of your surroundings. I do have to say they are very comfortable up to like 4 or so hours then dependent on your ears it may start to bother a little, yet it is not a deal breaker. I do kind of wish they added something a little more adaptable for different ear sizes, but these will not fall out. The case on the other hand I am somewhat dissatisfied because it can be a little weird to get the earbuds in and out of it. The case just seems a little too bulky for what it does all thought one benefit is that if you do drop it the earpieces will not fly out like other cases. So, with that in mind I gave it 5 stars overall because of sound quality and looks. Skullcandy did a great job.

Good earbuds with a unique style

The Skullcandy Push 720 Open Ear True Wireless earbuds have a unique design that’s different than all other earbuds I’ve owned. Even the case is like nothing I’ve ever used before. The earbuds have a lightweight design for sitting inside of your ear, because the battery, controls, and inner workings are on the part that clips to the back of your ear. It’s quite a unique design. However, I wasn’t able to get the best sound from it. The earbuds sound great when I’m able to push them further into my ear. I was unable to get them to stay in all the way. The part that connects the earbuds to the main control module can’t be adjusted. So, when I have them on and push them further into my ear for a better sound, they come back out. They don’t come all the way out of my ear, but just enough not to get that rich sound. The case is also different than all other cases. It’s a different design, but it’s not my favorite. The opening at the top of the case is spring loaded. You squeeze the sides and it opens up. While continuing to hold the squeeze the sides, you’re able to take the earbuds in and out of the case. It’s somewhat of a slight challenge because I have to reach down into the case to take them out. When placing them back in, it keeps them in place magnetically. The sound quality of the earbuds are good, but they could be even better if I’m able to get the sound when I press them and hold them deeper inside of my ear. The touch controls can do your standard Play/Pause, Incoming Call, Reject Call, End Call, and Track Forward. It even has a feature that allows you to press and hold for a feature they call Spotify Tap. This feature allows Spotify to pull up recommended songs based on your listening taste. I wish there was a feature that would allow me to interact with Siri. Overall, the earbuds are OK, but they have a few shortcomings.

    Great Pair Of Buds

Overall, these Skulldcandy wireless earbuds are fairly decent. Sound quality is well above average for buds at this price point. Battery life is on par for a pair of earbuds at this price, getting a good solid 7 to 8 hours per charge. My only real complaint about these buds has to be how they fit in your ear. On the one hand they are secure. More secure than any other wireless buds I've used in the past. They kind of pinch my ears at least. Seriously, they stay in your ears. Long hike over rough terrain, sit stays put. Riding a bike, and falling over those same rough trails, stays put. long road trips in the backseat in a van with kids? This set of buds stays put with some rathe good sound. Pretty decent you either A get used to the feel of the fit or B just don't care about the fit. All that said I point out my ears are a tad bit on the big size so if you have smaller ears it probably won't be an issue. Overall these are a fairly good pair of wireless ear buds that despite one flaw have a great sound.

SKULLCANDY PUSH 720 OPEN-EAR TRUE WIRELESS earbuds are nice and comfortable. They were easy to pair. The bag they come with to charge them up in is some what cumbersome in the sense that it does take up some room compared to that of a small case which would just fit in my pocket; however, I can also just hang this case off the zipper of my backpack while my earbuds are charging. The only negative thing I have to say about the earbuds is the name they showed up with on my phone when I attempted to pair them with my phone. Which was “Push 720.” I found that kind of odd. Other than that, everything else was normal, and the range of audio was pretty good. Especially for something that just clips onto your ears, I’m very impressed. I have worn them while outside doing yard work and such, and I have not had any problems whatsoever with them, so I would call that a win in my book. Overall, they’re great and I would recommend them to anyone looking for something that’s small and just clips onto your ear.
