Rugged earbuds, but with lousy sound quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased these earbuds as they include over-ear clips to keep them in place. Returned them the same day because the sound quality is awful - no bass, not much treble, just under-powered mid-range. Frankly, freebie airline headsets sound better. Also, the case is huge to accommodate the clips, and is tall. It’s luggable, definitely not pocketable. The Skullcandy app is poor too. In an attempt to see if the poor sound quality could be improved by a firmware update, I tried to do so. The app reported the firmware version, but did not provide confirmation of whether it’s current or support updating. Moreover, the tone equalization controls didn’t even work. Very disappointing.

Fails to meet the hype

Active Noise Cancelling and “aware mode” don’t seem to work. The companion app asks for an inappropriate amount of personal information.
