Nothing is perfect, including the ~$1,000 drones! So, for ~$50 (not including discounts!), there is very little to criticize about the s1700 quadcopter. It's quick. It can use larger batteries than the one included. It's sturdy. It's powerful enough to handle light outdoor winds. It's sensitive enough to fly indoors. Most importantly, it "controls elevation." This is the unique feature when compared to other inexpensive quad copters. Normally, elevation control is found in higher-tier quads. However, it's not as accurate as the more expensive quads. It'll bounce up and down when launching (automatically), and it will change its height over its flight by several feet. Be careful! Regardless, after getting to know the quadcopter, the feature proves to be a benefit. Here's why: if you're messing around with quadcopters for the first time, it's hard enough to learn how to steer, let alone manage elevation. Though not the best, this quad helps manage elevation dot that you can focus on learning how to move. And, after having started on a quad that only had manual elevation (the s1700 offers both), I can say that it's worth having even a less perfect auto-elevation option than none at all.

Easy to fly and good enough resolution. Wish flight time was longer 7 min just ain't enough.

Excellent drone. Easy to control and and fly. The trick button doesn't work as intended but it's not an issue for us.

The drone was really fun and fast to get the hang of it

We have enjoyed learning to fly but the auto land button quit after a few tries which meant we ran into many things. We found if you carefully pick it up and turn it on it’s back it shuts down. This drains the battery pretty quickly.
