Movie was great, plenty of action, family loved it

The Rock always comes through in all of his movies

The Rock remakes the Towering Inferno and adds his star power and personality, to give a good performance trying to save his family and get the bad guys. P S the action is extremely unbelievable but adds to the fun.

I selected the movie because I like Dwayne Johnson’s work. While the movie was entertaining and Dwayne delivered, it lacked more story and character development. Overall a decent movie to watch and enjoy.

SPOILERS AT VERY BOTTOM. BLUF: I don’t recommend the movie based on both the movie script and quality of the Blu-Ray. The Setup: Screen: 120inch projector screen w/ Priper projector materials (ie not a wall) Visual: Epson 4000 Projector (Bright Cinema, Sharpness Enhance 5) Glasses: Epson 3D glasses Audio Reciever: Pioneer Elite SC-85 Speakers: Klipsch Reference Premier Series Speakers (2x RP-280F, 1x RP-450C, 4x RP-250S, 4x RP-150S, 1x 10inch Klipsch, 1x 12 inch Klipsch Sub) Player: XBONEX Room: 16x20 with audio dampening NO spoilers: Pros: The Rock is a great actor for this sort of movie and it seemed customized for him Neve Campbell was also great So-So: Audio quality not great, the things that should go boom sound flat in this film and the audio mix artists had trouble deciding at which volume certain materials should be at (I.e things burning en masse should roar but were quiet and sometimes when things like glass broke they forgot to include audio for that glass hitting the ground. SPOILERS BELOW: The movie takes place in Hong Kong and is not believable in the slightest, so immediately the suspension of disbelief is gone. It’s very made-for-Chinese audiences and it shows. It’s unfortunate because it is so heavy handed. The movie is very physically dark (I know - it’s at night - but it was terribly shot even in interior scenes.) The other main problem is the Plot. Without giving too much detail, the story’s main conflict is very unclear until the end of the second act which is far too late in my opinion. They give you so much information and back story on the Rock’s character and his life but you really don’t ever care about them. Finally his wife is supposed to not be tech savvy, but she’s in my generation and a doctor AND a former military memeber, AND a martial artist. There’s NO WAY IN HECK she finds restarting a phone to be difficult. The Rock is awesome be he can’t save this boring, bland, dark film. Maybe Redbox it...

The movie misses a lot of its marks, but the UHD more than makes up for it with excellent picture and sound quality. Fun popcorn flick but just remember to turn off your brain before you put it in.

Aside from having to fast forward right after the universal logo to get to option to start movie, if I didn't it just played blank with no option to fast forward or reverse the movie is great

If you’re a fan of Dwayne Johnson and/or disaster movies then you might enjoy this. Otherwise, proceed with caution. The CGI special effects are good, but the movie itself is an odd mashup of Die Hard, Towering Inferno, and Marvel Comics. Dwayne does his hero thing but the humor that often makes Johnson’s cheesy movies fun and worth watching is totally missing. In short, it is a movie almost entirely based on special effects with little in the way of plot, script, or characters. It’s a good enough sale rack movie but I wouldn’t pay full price for it.

In spite of what the critics say, I really enjoyed this movie. It was auctioned packed and quite emotional at times. If you enjoyed Die Hard, this is basically the 2018 version. The 4k transfer and HDR looked great. Although it was a 2k DI it was razor sharp in most shots and grain free. The atmos mix also added a lot of immersion to the movie with plenty of overhead effects. I also appreciated the steelbooks design. My one problem being the photo on the back of the steelbook is not as sharp as the photo on the front.

It's a classic Rock movie, but that doesn't necessarily make it good or worthwhile. If you're already a fan of Rock, than you'll like it, if not, it won't change your mind.

I am sure by now that you have heard that Skyscraper is a combination of both Die Hard and the Towering Inferno. It definitely is that, and yet it is a modern take on both films. The special effects are incredible. Visually, it feels as if you are right there during the action scenes. This film may not be as good as Die Hard, but it is still a fun action packed film. Both the video and audio are near reference quality and the supplements are short but good. The steelbook itself is beautiful. Very nice art work.

This movie received not so great reviews, but for a $12 4K DVD I could not pass up this deal. The movie is not terrible but it is something you can only watch once.

If you are a Rock fan .. you will most likely find this movie is fun. Plot is weak, but lots of actions and super production ... looks really good in 4k.

Good and Bad Exist in this world. War Veteran Dwayne Johnson plays a Man called Will Sawyer with incredible skills, While He Battles for Justice at his Dangerous Job. Most of the time, He Wins. This time Dwayne Johnson Family is Trapped in thee Tallest Skyscraper in China. Will Dwayne Johnson save his Family. Or Catch the PEOPLE who Framed Him For the Fire. Bravo to the Actors and Actresses of this movie. Kudos to the Director of this movie. PEACE!

I was not expecting much from this movie but is was slightly better than i expected. Not one of the Rocks better movies but it is watchable.

I recently purchased a New Samsung Q90T 65" (2020) Q-LED TV and matching Q950T Samsung Soundbar and 4K UHD Blu-ray Player and wanted to purchase a few really good 4K UHD Movies to show off the picture and ATMOS surround audio. This DVD does not disappoint. Great movie with plenty of action scenes with very good Surround sound. And I got it on sale! Better than going to the Movies, especially now since COVID-19.

Note: I am not bellyaching about not having access to everything. It's a free-to-play game that I've spent $10 on a singular Battle Pass (I'm a hypocrite, I know) that I roll from one pass to the next with the extra "Cod Points" that I unlock via tiers. I've played an incalculable number of hours playing the game, and I am satisfied with my experience. It's a great game, and I've had a ton of fun with it. Also, bad movie

Humorous movie. I don't understand why writers can't create a blockbuster with the Rock as the lead. Maybe he is just on show for his physique.
