You most likely need it

I don't know the installer hooked it up. But it is my piece of mind that I have a cord that is new and has not been compromised by ....who knows, mice chewing it up, the previous owner of this house had rabbits running around the house... anything could happen. I just feel safer it is fully safe and capable.
