We had an existing copper water line coming up from the basement, with a shutoff valve just below the kitchen. The installers said they could use the existing copper line so we didn't have to use this new water line. So far no issues!

kind of expensive for basic hoses

I figured it's the secret cost behind Best Buy's "free" installation if that's what you're getting. Oh well, it's only fair. I might feel better if they put the price on the installation service and included these hoses for free though.
