Absolutely required, and done well with it, however, installer ran into problems, couldn't use kit hose, luckily I had purchased a connection hose and adapter for prior DW still in plastic laid on my countertop and he used those. My DW installed 2005, plumbing for hook up from 1987. You might want to do what I did which I did because I read a review that stressed this, you can always take your extra hose/adapter back. You don't want this to be an issue.

Purchased an LG dishwasher from Best Buy (doing great so far!) and had to purchase accessories as well for installation. It would be great if such hoses, etc were included, but alas, they aren't. Pricing was reasonable and comparable to if you had to purchase on your own for an existing dishwasher.

This makes for an easy hookup. This is very strong and durable.

Since we don't even see what was installed, I am assuming it was correctly installed. As I understand it, they always use new installation kits before they install any new appliances. Since it hasn't leaked or anything, I suppose it was installed correctly and they also took the old dishwasher away. Harrah!

My dishwasher is not next to my sink. Therefore, because the hose was not long enough, the installer had to use 2 kits. This makes it more expensive and leaves you with a bunch of parts you don't need. They should make kits with different size hoses so that this is not necessary. Also, the installer used a razor knife to remove the protective plastic and scratched the metal.

These are excellent install kits, except that they only come in one length. It just so happened that our install was a total of 9 feet for the plumbing route from the source to the installed appliance. This install required 2 kits in order to complete. The installers were very good at what they do.

The product supplied by this purchase were necessary to install a new dishwasher in a totally renovated kitchen. The supplies were used by my plumber who made the water and drain connections.
