My only concern was that the kit contained more than I needed and seemed kind of wasteful, but certainly was convenient in that I did not have to make multiple trips to the hardware store in order to have the correct connectors.

Due to my physical limitations, we had Best Buy’s contractors install the unit so we didn’t have to fight the install. We were very pleased with the results and everything is working as it should.

Required for new install

I can see it where it hooks to the drain line under my sink. It seems stiffer than my old one did which makes it a little harder storing things around it. I guess it is stronger so not easy to get damaged. That I suppose is a good thing.

Needed to install a dishwasher

Also, I've tried using old pieces before, and they just aren't as secure: if you are spending $600 on a dishwasher, it makes sense to spend another $15 or so on the connection.

The only issue is if you use the same outlet that has the switched output at the bottom for the garbage disposal. The plug for the dish washer is an angled, lay flat style and it hits the plug for the garbage disposal. Also, if you plan on installing yourself, the electrical connection box at bottom of unit, is not easy to get to.
