I had a plumber over the day before delivery to replace the shut off valves. He told me that the rubber hoses we had were the number one cause of flooding in homes. He suggested the braided stainless steel, which I had already purchased with the new machines. Works great and I feel more secure knowing I have a reduced risk of burst tubing

I don't know too much about hoses, but the new hoses are stainless steel and they are quite sturdy. There are no leaks and I guess that's the most important thing. The hoses that were on my old washer were not stainless steel, so I feel it's a very substantial upgrade. Happy with the new hoses.

These are very sturdy and durable hoses, especially because of being made from Stainless Steel; much better than traditional hoses made of rubber, and, consequent peace of mind for you from accidental leaks when you are not at home due to rubber getting perforated and marooning your floors!

These are better than the rubber ones by far. They don't stink and they're far sturdier.

When they ask if you need or want the hoses, GET THEM. We were lucky we had. When taking out old washer, the pipe and old hose were stuck together. So much so that the pipe broke. Sending water spraying all over laundry room. Huge mess. Better to get them then to not.

Installers removed my old rubber hoses and installed the new stainless steel ones on my new washing machine. They appear to do the job. You do not need a specialist to put on the hoses. Just make sure hot water hose is connected to the hot water part of the washing machine. Same for the cold water hose. Hand tighten then take a wrench and tighten a bit more.

Easy to install. Stainless steel washing machine hose do not break. It is a shame that you have to throw away the hose that comes with the washer. Maybe the manuf. could lower the washing machine price a bit but let you know that you have to buy the hose separately. You could then decide cheap hoses or stainless.

These kinds of hoses are absolutely necessary when buying a new washing machine, or to replace your "regular hoses" RIGHT NOW! I had one of my normal hoses burst (luckily I was at home at the time). It burst and it began squirting water into the air and all the way into my kitchen. My house would have flooded inside an hour had I not been home and quickly turned off the water and replaced the hoses. These hoses should last 20 years, but I would even replace them in 20 years just in case. They are reinforced with metal and will keep the hose from bursting, but even they won't last forever. These new hoses are an imperative. My old boss had one of his Rubber hoses burst and he came home to "Flood Damage" which cost him over $20k to fix. These are more expensive then regular hoses, but it IS the cheapest insurance you will every buy.

These lines are durable. You can also buy these at your local hardware store that are color coded. For washer install you must have for insurance purposes. So if you are a “do it yourself er” may find it cheaper.
