The Apple Smart Cover is an excellent protector for the Apple iPads, as it should be as an OEM part and produced by Apple. It fits well and is well made. It does an excellent job at protecting the screen, but it is a "cover" and not a case, so the remainder of the tablet is not protected. This obviously keeps the tablet thin and light but leaves the real unprotected. My issue with the cover is the price. It is very expensive compared to alternatives that are available both at Best Buy and elsewhere. I also decided I needed more protection for this high priced tablet than just a cover, so I returned it and got a full case.

This is a good and convenient cover for light / indoor use. If you are going to be rough with your iPad or if you will be using it on the move, you may want to consider something better suited for rougher treatment.

I've had this before and I'm still not thrilled with it again. This product has always confused me in that doesn't protect the device at all. it's magnetic so it is easy to attached / detach but if it falls off and you drop the iPad the screen will still get scratched. it's easy to use and roll up into the triangle so the iPad will stand up, but I think i'm going to return this and purchase another cover that has a back to it to protect against drops. If you don't leave your house with your ipad however, this may be the case for you.

This cover is light weight and keeps the iPad protected from scratches.

The cover does protect the screen, but if you put to much pressure on the magnetic strip, it will pop off. If you want to use it as a stand, it works but doesn't make holding the iPad in the hand much easier.

Perfect fit and look. Protection for the iPad makes this a necessity.
