I wanted something without bulk but more than the Smart Cover. This works perfect. I got the brown (which is definitely more brown than tan brown, which I was happy about) and on sale for a great price. The leather is super nice and the inside super soft. My iPad Mini 2 with retina slipped right in. I recommend.

Excellent quality case. Slightly more grey than black, but very durable.

The iPad mini smart cover is a great upgrade from the iPad 2 smart covers. It is easy to attach & it also cleans the screen. The smart cover doesn't add any bulk, making it easier to put inside of my purse.

The Apple Smart Cover is a great basic cover. Good quality, solid construction, strong magnets, etc. My only complaint is that the Black version is not black ... its gray. They should market it as Space Gray like the pod/phone/pad and avoid confusion. I wish they had a true black version.

This case is fine because it provides screen protection, and it has the smart lock/unlock capability. For the people that complain that there is no back protection, there is the rocket fish clear snap on backing for ipad mini. It is compatible for this case as well. It is like they were made for each other. Now you have an ipad mini with clear back protection and the smart cover. What more could you ask for?

The cover is easy to mount in seconds. It puts the iPad to sleep when it is closed. Its slim design does not add bulk to the device. The screen is adequately protected.

Live how easy it was to put on. The color of the cover is beautiful. Love that it licks the screen when closed.

I have the Smart Cover on my IPad and was paranoid about damage and ended up purchasing a Targus pouch to leave the IPad in when I wasn't using it. The selection of alternative cases for the Mini ( that provided the instant on capability) were almost non existent when I purchased my Mini so it was smart to buy the Smart. Since then I have purchased the Snugg case and it is everything that I wanted in a case - with instant on and a great feeling when you are lugging the Mini around. Many of my friends really like the Smart Cover and have no concerns about the back but this is my opinion; non back protection will eventually reward you with scratches on the device. Nothing fatal but aesthetically frustrating. However, in the spirit of full disclosure, I have a flip case for my IPhone so maybe I am a closet case coward. Having said all that, if you are not concerned about the back and want to take full advantage of the slender design of the IPad, the Smart Cover is a good choice. if you want more protection, look into other options for a cover.

Slim, sleek, keeps iPad thin and comfortable. Great stand, screen sleep mode saves battery life awesome case.

Simple front cover for iPad mini. This model of course doesn't not protect the back. However the iPad never leaves the house.

Buying this ipad mini smart cover, I was a bit hesitant because the back was not covered. However, the more I use this case on my mini, the more I love this cover! It makes the ipad look sleek and it is able to stand up on its own. The only bad side would be that the back isn't protected, but I got a clear back protector for my ipad.

For Christmas I got an ipad mini with the smart cover in pink. The cover is great. I alines easily and covers the screen. I do wish that the cover covered the back. I don't want to have to worry about getting scratches on the back of my ipad. I don't mind the case but if apple were to enhance it, i would sugest having it cover the back.

I purchased the smart cover primarily to provide protection for the screen of my I-pad mini, which it does well. I didn't think the on, off feature with the opening and closing of the cover would be that important to me, but I really like it. I almost never need to use the off button. I find that I don't use the support feature of the opened cover much. I usually am holding it or propping it up at a higher angle.

The magnetic edge that clicks into place on the iPad Mini side works well, but takes very little to break the connection and the cover drops away. It's built solidly and protects the screen from damage as it slips in and out of my briefcase. It's more expensive than it should be, but hey, it's Apple. No surprise there.

The Apple cover fits the iPad perfectly. When covering the iPad, it automatically powers off the device. It works well with hitches. It's a plain old boring cover, but it adds almost no width to the iPad and does its job well. Pricewise--as with all Apple products--it does seem a bit high (hence the 4-star rating).

Ordered the week of Christmas and received it before the holidays! Thanks Best Buy for super fast delivery. Product was great.

I have the smart cover for the full size 10" iPad - its quite nice and it works well and I was expecting this to be the same thing, only smaller. wrong This is garbage, the build quality is nice but its got a flawed design. first it falls off ALL the time, it doesn't fold nicely (less flaps) and it doesn't stay flat when folded back. And did I mention - it falls off all the time!!! Save your money and get the INVELLOP Leatherette Case Cover - its way better design, well made, great usability and covers the back and front. Oh, and its $15 vs $40 at Amazon. Don't bother with this cover, it was returned in less than 5 days.
