    Marcus was very personable and polite. He installed the smart thermostat in less than 30 minutes, and went above and beyond to ensure we knew how to work it.

    Well, I don’t have you have a bed no more. Easy control things before you get home and save money. Even the text when I leave and adjust the temperature. Whatever you wanna do is all adjustable to your needs.

    Had Geek Squad install a NEST Learning Thermostat, and the contractor that they used did an outstanding job. Very pleased with his expert knowledge and professionalism. Would recommend highly.

    Ecobee install with no C wire

    I previously read about wiring needed for the thermostat, and wasn't sure if I had the correct ones, so I got the install for the Ecobee. It turns out that I did not have the C wire needed. The tech put the power extender kit (included with Ecobee) inside a box on the HVAC unit. He did the setup to connect to wifi and made sure it was working on my app, too. The installation was well worth it for me.

    I give this review in hindsight. Shortly after the installer informed my that the smart thermostat I bought, along with all recommended accessories, was not compatible with my furnace, he proceeded to reassemble the old thermostat and left. Shortly thereafter, although the old thermostat worked fine (just wanted to upgrade to the convenience of a smart thermostat), it stopped working altogether. I called to schedule for the installer to return and see about getting the older thermostat to work again. When he arrived days later, he advised me he could only do installs, not repairs, and that I would need to call a furnace installation company to diagnose and repair the thermostat. I did so and the tech found a fuse blown in the furnace due to the installer rewiring the thermostat wrong. The tech replaced the furnace fuse and wired the thermostat correctly, and now I have heat once again.

    Agent mounted my thermostat, he seems to be in a hurry and forget to connect the wires to the heater so I only have air-conditioned after he left i have to call to have a redo ,on his second visit he got it right

    Installer didn’t sync the smart sensor and now I can’t sync it myself because he pulled the plastic tab at the battery. Geek squad is coming out again to try and fix it (sigh)

    Great thermostat saves some energy monthly learns when not home and when home.. the best part is if out of town u can set to cool ur house when gonna arrive so by the time u home it will be cool

    The technician did not arrive at the predicted time. He was very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful in explaining operation of the application. Geek squad needs more technicians and keep clients informed of time changes for service.

    It was not geek squad but third party vendor who came to install it . The process of getting in touch with the vendor was as very difficult and no one in your call center could help .

    Recently, i purchased the Ecobee smart thermostat for my home (during the winter). I had the geek squad come out and “install” the unit. A few months go by (past the 90 day window) and when i went to turn my A/C on, i dont have an option. The installer only connected the heat and when i called customer service, they told me it was my fault for not checking everything worked! If i knew how to install it, i wouldnt have paid for someone else to do the job. Customer service states the install was “successful”. I advised them “success” is when everything is done correctly and they failed the job. I was told they will not have someone come out to install it properly, unless i pay them again for a new install. Absolutely pathetic and a bunch of thiefs!

    My tech (Jeff) was very nice and professional. He looked young which worried me, but I was wrong, he really knew his stuff. I had a very old system and it was not an easy change out. He did an amazing job and made sure everything was working properly before leaving. I would request him again for my next install. Thanks Jeff!

    The agent called when he was on the way to my house. He removed the old thermostat and installed the new one, explained how to operate the thermostat. He was polite and did the job in a timely manner. Thank you Geek Squad for another job well done.

    The installed were on time which was quite refreshing. They were very professional and helpful during and after the invention. They cleaned up after themselves so we didn't have to immediately vacuum any particles dropped during the installation. I'll be using them again if we're purchase a product that requires installation.

    Your contractors need more vetting

    The contractor was insufficient to do the job. He told us there was no electricity going into the thermostat so he could not complete the job. This was VERY STRANGE since it was working prior to his arrival. We complained to Best Buy, another contractor was sent out who drew the same conclusion as the first contractor. As it turned out, the 2nd contractor was subordinate to the first. They spoke spanish the whole time - not knowing that my wife is fluent in spanish and listened to their whole conversation. We ended up hiring Hawk Plumbing HVAC to come out and look at it. Hawk concluded that wires must have touched while "hot" which blew a fuse. Hawk fixed it in about two minutes. Best Buy needs to do a better job than they currently are doing at vetting their contractors. We expected Geek Squad, we got low rent contractors that can't get the job done. We paid Best Buy for whole house coverage on installation, we did not get what we paid for. BTW... "Yes" I would recommend GEEK Squad, but not the bozo contractors.
