Geek Squad cost us over $1000 to repair our heating system that was broken from their poor installation. We went over 10 days with no heat during the holidays until we could get our plumber to fix all with parts and labor. Best Buy took zero responsibility for their hired staffs work. The $200 geek squad fee not worth the aggravation.

In store people just make an appointment for thermostat installation without any knowledge. When Geek Squad call before come and they ask question without coming to home and simply denied to come to installed due to some technical questions which I don't know and suggest call local HVAC person for installation.
Such a waste of time and my money towards the purchasing product and TotalTech Protection plan.

THE TECH THAT CAME TO MY HOUSE WAS NOTHING LIKE THE INSTORE GEEKS. THIS DUDE WAS A DUD AND HAD LITTLE TO NO PERSONALITY. HE SIMPLY SAID THEY ONLY SOLD YOU THIS WITH NO IDEAL OF WHAT IT SHOULD DO. THERE WENT MY IDEAL OF THE GEEK SQUAD BEING THE BEST. HERE IS A HINT SEND THE GEEKS OUT THAT WORK IN THE STORE

Best Buy’s techs are beginners. They need to stop advertising that they can install because it’s a 50/50 percent chance that they can’t install it. I’ve had Best Buy do several things. This isn’t one they should advertise. They’re not experienced enough and don’t have the proper licensing and certification.

Incompetence is an understatement. Tech no-shows first appointment. Then when he came a week later, he shorted out our home's heating and cooling system, so he left. I wished the tech had no-showed again and saved us the headaches. Called supervisor who thought I should pay for repairs from a licensed HVAC technician and seek reimbursement. Took a couple days to agree on course of action and then to actually get repairs done. Back to standard thermostat, but everything works. Thankfully before winter arrived.

After tech’s left, the thermostat didn’t work. We called a heater company to see if our heater was working properly. He told us that the thermostat was not hooked up correctly. The heater company fixed it. It was an unnecessary cost for us.

Disappointed! I made sure there was a blue c wire in the wall. Tech said must not be hooked up at the unit and put my old one back on. I looked in the attic and it was connected so not sure if the thermostat is defective. I need to check if current coming through wire and if so the thermostat is defective.
