Technicians did not complete the service. Installation is still missing.

nerve showed up to do the install. I had to call for a refund. Absolutely horrible service

The thermostat does not operate in the cooling mode

Paid an AC guy to install. Geek squad could do the job to conceal a wire.

My installer did a good job. Would have been nice if he could have installed all of my equipment, rather than just the thermometer. I had to make a second appointment. I still have other equipment yet to be installed. Apparently Geek Squad can't drill holes in my home and i have to have an electrician do this before I can complete my install.

Nest is a great way to upgrade your thermostat. Especially if you leave the house and forget to turn it off, as I got tired of doing. On the other hand, it’s also really lovely to turn on when on the way home, so you can walk into a nice warm house.
The downside is that the app is cumbersome and sometimes unreliable. The programmers spent to much time on the programming rituals that one may want and not enough time on the simple basics… on, off and temp. You can get to them easily enough once you figure it out, but say, if I want to turn on the heat to 71 degrees period, I never know how long that will last for. Depends on the climate settings at the time. It may last 3 hours or 10 minutes. There needs to be an option to push all that aside and have a simple in and off and temp option that will just last until I change it or turn it off.
That said, I’m still glad I got it because I can control it remotely.

Technicians were very nice. The installation was a failure. The techs blamed it on a defective Ecobee device and installed the old thermostat which they somehow were able to make not function. They put the blame on faulty electrical.
I sent the techs away called an HVAC technician and was told the Best Buy techs blew a fuse when they disconnected the old thermostat. The Best Buy techs did not turn off the power to the HVAC before starting the installation process thus the blown fuse. I ended having to not only pay for the installation by the HVAC technician of the Ecobee thermostat, which was not detective, but also had to pay for the blown fuse to be replaced. Very disappointed in the entire Best Buy installation process, I will not be using Best Buy for any future installations and will be thinking twice before making any future purchases.
