Cool little drone. Bought it for my seven year olds. Light up feature on it is cool with navy different modes. So could be a bit better could be more intuitive.

If you're looking for a camera drone, do not buy this. This is basically just a plane to fly around. It technically has a camera but it won't track anything you're doing. Drifts a lot. For the price it's OK if you're JUST wanting to fly it.

This drone is so much fun! I actually like this one more than the expensive one I have. I know this is more of a toy grade, but don't let that sway you away from this great product. This one is so easy to get going and fly around the house. I usually crash my other drone because I'm horrible at flying it, but this one operates the same way but is smaller and blades are covered so it doesn't damage things when crashed. Plus, the larger ones you have to fly outside, this one you can fly around inside your home and get use to the controls. The remote control has very simple controls and feels well made. On the remote there is a button to help with takeoff and landings. My other drone has this feature, and it makes a world of difference when you're a newbie to drones. Just push the button and the drone takes off and hoovers in the air until you take over and use the remote to fly it around. When you want to land, push the button again and it comes back towards the ground. The drone itself is made from a medium hard plastic and handles impacts well. The LED lighting is very fun and makes the drone more playful. Using the remote you can also change the LED settings. I really wish there was one LED setting that had only green lights in the front of the drone and red in back. This way when flying you can which way is the front and back of the drone. I did receive extra blades for the drone, but I have not needed them yet since they are pretty well covered on the drone itself. You also get two rechargeable batteries, and they are charged via USB. The app they recommend you use is very helpful and gives a live camera view. While I do like the app, it is not needed if you just want to fly the drone around the house. Overall, I'm very impressed with this drone! Its super easy to fly around, looks great, well built, and has a built-in camera. If you are looking into getting a drone, I would recommend getting this first so you can learn the controls and how to fly a drone. This is my third drone and also the cheapest, but it's by far the easiest to fly and is a lot of fun. I feel like once I can keep this one under control going to my more expensive one should be a lot easier to fly.

The K30 drone is a fantastic option for beginners or anyone interested in recreational flying. It’s incredibly easy to set up, and the controls are intuitive, which made it simple to get in the air quickly. The camera quality is surprisingly good for a drone in this price range, capturing clear and stable footage that’s great for casual photography and video. One of my favorite features is the altitude hold mode—it helps keep the drone steady, which is especially helpful for new pilots. The battery life is decent, providing around 12-15 minutes of flight time per charge, but it’s a good idea to have a spare battery on hand if you plan to fly for longer sessions. The K30 does well in calm weather, but it’s not very wind-resistant, so I’d recommend flying it on calm days. Also, the range could be better; it starts to lose connection if you stray too far, but it’s perfect for backyard use or short-distance flying. Overall, the K30 drone offers excellent value for the price, with just the right amount of features for learning and casual flying. If you’re looking for an affordable drone to start with, the K30 is a great choice.

This is my second Snaptain drone. I am happy to say that the K30 did not fly off into the sunset. Set up of the drone is straight forward as can be. Charge the batteries pop them in, remote will take standard AAAs (why not have it rechargeable as well??), connect drone to remote and I was up in the air. Indoors it is noisy but fairly manageable since there is no wind to knock it around, but it will drift especially if you are close to something that will cause turbulence and that backdraft can send the drone flying off in the opposite direction. More practice on the controls can somewhat counter that, however, several close calls where my child almost sent it full tilt into my TV had us move things outdoors. Outside on the first 2 days was pretty much a bust because it was windy. The K30 does not like wind and will get bullied by it. There is a Snaptain App which will allow connection to your cell phone to take video and pictures which is ok, however, I found that range to be so so about 25 feet away from me at shoulder height and across our street and the video feed was choppy and and froze out to the point where i needed to shut the drone down and reconnect everything. Connecting to the drone and getting a feed and taking a picture from it is easy enough, but the weak connection makes me not want to bother with it when flying just flying it. On a still day we took it out a little later in the evening we took it to the field and put it in the air. The LED lights made it very easy to track and my kid loved following it. The K30 comes with 2 batteries can eek out about 20mins of flight time. By then my child kinda loses interest and is off to something else. The 1hr+ charge time for a little under 10mins of flight time is a downer. If the batteries had a quick charge it would definitely keep interest longer. My 8yo found it a little difficult to control this basic drone over my more advanced DJI drone but the Snaptain makes it easy not to care as much if she crashes or gets stuck up in a tree. The short battery life is not ideal for her to get decent practice in, but it's a drone I can let her run without feeling the need to have my hands hover over hers when using. It's not what I would consider even an entry level drone but more of a fun toy for kids and adults alike if you keep your expectations low.

The Snaptain K30 is a solid entry level drone for kids and adults that won’t break the bank. Keep in mind this is a mini drone that’s more akin to a toy, but if you’re new to flying drones, I highly suggest something like this to learn on before you get something bigger and more expensive. The flight controls are the same, so while the K30 doesn’t have GPS or laser guided object avoidance, you can learn how to pilot and maneuver a drone just as you would any others. Except in this case a crash won’t leave you out several hundreds of dollars. Plus, mini drones don’t need to be registered with the FAA and have restricted air space like the bigger units, so it’s a lot easier to jump into flying a drone. And because of its small size you can even use it indoors which opens up a lot more piloting time. Think of it as a 250cc bike or a go-kart if you’re learning to ride or drive. Getting the fundamentals down is key. But aside from being a good platform to learn how to pilot drones, it also has a few nice features over other mini drones in its class. The 720p camera isn’t half bad and I’m kind of shocked there’s legit FPV flying at this level. The camera can pivot up and down but there’s no gimbal here, so you’ll have to do it manually before take-off. There’s a bit of delay in the video feed so I wouldn’t use FPV for racing, but it’s good for general photos and videos. We used it to check the gutters on my house, which was a lot easier than climbing up a ladder. However, be warned that it’s a super light, so like all drones (especially mini drones) wind will be a factor. Outside of FPV, the propeller guards work great in preventing them getting jammed and are especially useful for indoor flying. Surrounding the propeller guards is an LED light strip that’s a lot more fancy than I thought it would be. There’s a few custom motion patterns it can do that legitimately look pretty cool at night. The only issue is you lose the lights indicating what’s front and rear so you have to keep your eyes on what direction it’s flying. In terms of flying time, it’s about 5 minutes per fully charged battery, which is average for a mini drone. The batteries are actually the most “engineered” I’ve seen in this class, because it has a hard casing and its own direct charge USB-C port. The other ones I’ve used still use the lithium envelopes that need to be charged with an adapter. This is much better and maybe even safer. Overall, this is a fun entry level drone for kids and adults that won’t break the bank. It’s definitely a step up from something like an X4 and the prop guards should help prevent enough crashes to keep you flying. It’s a great platform to learn how to fly drones and getting FPV, 2 batteries, and custom LED lights is outstanding at this price point. Highly recommended if you’re new to drones or want one for the kids.
