Customers express satisfaction with the K30 Mini Drone's camera quality and ease of use. The battery life and LED lights are also appreciated by users. However, a drawback of the drone is its poor wind resistance. The flight time is around 9 minutes per battery.

Good Starter Drone

The Snaptain K30 Mini Drone is a good starter drone either for kids or for anyone who doesn't want to spend an arm and a leg on a drone. This drone come with extra propeller blades, 2 batteries, the remote, and a phone mount for the remote. Each battery gives you about 9 minutes of run time, for a total of 18 minutes, which is about what I would expect, and the fact they throw in the extra battery is wonderful. The drone lights up and can do a variety of different light effects. It also features a 720p HD camera, which can transmit and record video to your paired smart phone. The video quality isn't great, but it's not bad either. You can't pan or tilt the camera while in flight, but you can manually adjust it while not in flight so that you can at least get different angles. The performance of the drone was actually surprisingly good. Being more of a "toy" I expected to have a much harder time controlling it than I did. It has an automatic take off function which works really well. You definitely still need to be delicate with the controls, but overall I found controlling the drone to be simple and intuitive. And it has guards around the propellers so even if you bump into things, you shouldn't really do that much damage to either the drone or whatever you bump into. I did notice some drifting the more I played with it, but not so much that it detracted from the fun. You just have to be mindful while flying it to compensate for any drifting that does occur. There are buttons on the remote to perform automatic tricks, either a spin maneuver or a 360 flip, which is really impressive. There are also 2 different speeds for different skills/environments. And lastly, there is a button to change the lighting functions. I had a lot more fun with this drone than I was expecting. My kid loved interacting with it as well. He is only 6, so he's a little young to fly it himself, but he loved seeing it fly around and do tricks. I think with some practice he could actually fly it himself, although the suggested age for the drone is 14+. Overall this drone is really fun, and simple to fly. It may not be as full featured as "professional" drones, but at this price point, I wouldn't expect it to be. It's perfect for kids or anyone looking for a simple, fun drone.

Fun, easy-to-fly little drone with a camera

It was super easy to get the K30 in the air. The longest part of the process was unboxing it, charging the battery, and installing 3 AAA batteries in the controller. After that it was just a matter of powering up and taking off. Later, we installed the Snaptain FPV app and started playing with the camera ability.
The drone comes with a colorful and easy to understand quick start guide that tells you the basics needed to get flying. It also comes with a thicker user manual that describes all the controls and features in much more detail. One thing it mentions on the first “flight safety” page is “this drone is exclusively designed for indoor flying. Please do not use it outdoors to prevent the risk of losing it.” If it’s completely calm, I think it would be fine outdoors, but just know that the specs also list the range of the remote as 50m or 164ft. So, you’ll want to keep it close.
For the price, the drone seems like it has a lot of nice features. It’s well-built, has great, colorful lights and patterns you can select, and solid propeller guard cages. We haven’t crashed it very much, but the guards work really well to protect the props. It also has built-in capabilities like landing and takeoff, flying in a circle, and doing 360-degree flips. That last feature is a lot of fun. You push a button on the controller to activate the mode, then you move the right joystick in the direction you want it to flip. If you don’t tell the others about it, they’ll think you’re an awesome trick pilot.
I also like the fact that it has a removable, rechargeable battery and comes with a total of two. It’s very easy to remove and snap back in after charging. The spec lists a 9-minute run time per charge, and as far as I’ve seen so far that’s fairly accurate.
Eventually we installed the app and started having fun with the camera. The camera and video use the same resolution of 1280x720, and the video is 20 frames per second. It’s a surprisingly good camera for a little entry-level drone. If you go slow, you can use the video to navigate around the house into other rooms out of sight. But each time you move forward, the camera dips down with the drone so it can be a little hard to see where you’re going. The camera resolution is great, though, and it can take some sharp pictures and video.
Given all its features, I think this is a great drone for a young pilot to start learning how to fly a drone.

Great introductory drone / UAV!!!

Snaptain’s K30 Mini Camera Drone is a great introductory drone (or UAV) for both adults and children. The 720P HD PFV RC quadcopter has altitude hold, can do 3D flips, and of course has speed adjustment capability. It also has cool RGB(?) LED lighting effects and a location buzzer to help you find it if it is lost. Altitude hold (locked flight height) makes for stress-free flight control. You can use just one hand to control the vertical direction, and just focus on forward, backward, and left, right movements. When you accidentally lose sight of the drone, you can utilize the buzzer button to make a “di di di” sound to you to assist you in finding the out of the visual line of sight drone.
Snaptain's K30 mini camera drones have 32 RGB lights, providing you with really cool lighting effects for a very colorful flying experience. You have access to 6 variations.
The K30 drone with camera includes 2 batteries that provide about 18 minutes of flight time (your milage may vary). Charging and battery swap out is fast and simple.
Take off and landing the drone can be done with one click. There are two control setting for you to choose from. The altitude hold function allows your drone to automatically hover. All in all the K30 is highly suitable for neophytes and kids.
The four sturdy propeller guards and a not to ridged high-quality ABS frame ensure a safe flight, it has NO exposed propeller blades. It is pretty close to being crash proof.
K30 drones have great 360-degree flip and automatic rotation functions.
K30 drone has an 80° manually adjustable 720P HD Wi-Fi camera to take reasonably clear images and video (it is not a high-end 4K or higher sensor).
The FPV function allows you to view real-time images through the app on the controller attached phone.
Some features that ensure ease of use, safety, durability, and fun include the following:
1. Simple controls and a user-friendly interface
2. Sturdy construction to withstand crashes and rough handling
3. Propeller guards
4. About 9 minutes of flight time per battery, with easy-to-swap batteries for extended play
5. Compact and Portable
6. Compatibility with Snaptain's smartphone apps for additional control and features.
7. 2 modes that limit speed to assist learning.
8. FPV (First-Person View) Real-time video
The Snaptain K30 drone provide a good balance of safety, ease of use, and fun features. It is a blast to fly in the home!

Fun gadget for kids

I tried out the K30 drone, and overall, it's a fun little gadget, especially for kids and beginners like me. It's more of a toy, so it's best to use it indoors since it's really lightweight and doesn’t handle wind really well. The controls are straightforward, and the LED lights make it look pretty cool.
Setting it up was easy. I just put in the batteries, and everything connected quickly with my phone. The drone comes with some extras, like spare parts and a pouch, which is a nice bonus. The app itself was user-friendly and connected to the drone without any issues.
Flying it was a bit of a hit and miss for me. It has basic functions like auto takeoff, landing, and hovering, which were easy to use. But I noticed it tends to drift a lot on its own (especially as mentioned if there is any kind of wind), which made it harder to control. It is quite noisy. so indoors it could get annoying, but most drones are like that. The camera is decent for what it is. I could take pictures and videos using the app, but you need to take a few of them since even a little drift makes the shots blurry.
As for the build quality, it feels a bit cheap, but that’s expected given the price and I felt comfortable handing it off to my kid to play around with. All in all, I had fun with the K30, even though it wasn’t perfect. The drifting and short battery life were a bit of a downside, but it’s still a good way to start with drones and at that price point you can feel comfortable with your kids trying their hands with it.

Fun Little Drone at a Fair Price

The Snaptain K30 mini camera drone is a solid choice if you are looking for an affordable entry point into the world of camera drones. It is small device that can’t handle much wind and a battery that seemed to last 8 or 9 minutes. So then, why did I give it a 5* review? Simply put, for the price I think it’s actually a really solid value.
It’s pretty easy to set up and get to flying. Just charge up the drone battery and add 3 AAA batteries to the remote. Download and set up the app (you can fly with no camera functions without the app) and you are pretty much ready to go. The battery life is fairly short at close to 10 min when you are really going but you have a spare battery and they charges pretty quickly. There is a very easy to follow quick start guide. I have limited drone flying experience and it had been a at least a year since any but this little guy was pretty easy to handle. I started flying indoors and when it first came I was able to hover in place at the touch of a button. The controls were responsive as I was easily able to slowly fly around my girlfriend and cat. The camera and app are fine. I was able to fly it out of sight by just watching my phone mounted over the remote control. It all works fairly well, certainly well within my expectations for a drone in this price range. I admit I got a bit excited when I pulled off my first 3D flip with it. The lights on it are a nice touch, love the way it looks as it moves through the air.
All in all I’m really enjoying playing with this thing. It’s the smallest drone I’ve flown and I enjoy the challenge of getting into small spaces. If you are thinking of getting your first drone and aren’t sure what price or what features you want I think this is a good start. Learn the basics on something more affordable with all the basic features you’d want and see if you really like it before investing into something more. If I knew someone looking for a drone in this price range, I would absolutely recommend it to a friend.

Fun for sure!!

So this is a very fun little drone that is suitable for inside and low wind outside use. Out of the box getting set up is very straight forward. It comes with spare blades, tools and two batteries. Without anything more than charging the two batteries and installing some AAA in the controller, it is ready to fly. Hit the launch / land button and up it goes ready for accept your commands. Flying this way is a great way to learn the controls and how to orient your brain to aim it in the correct direction regardless of it's orientation.
However, download the app and things get even better. You can connect the controller to your phone and with that you can enjoy the camera live, and with it, you can take pics or vids of your flight. With that you get telemetry such as battery state and of course video. Now, as for FPV (First Person View) you can see where the drone is going live though, there is significant lag so, intricate high speed flips and flops and tree canopy roaming is really not possible. I still stand behind my rating due to the ease of use, easy learning curve, and durability. Yes, I have crashed many times and it is still going strong.
As for crashing, one feature that is really nice and something even on advanced drones is an expensive extra is the "fine me" feature. Press two buttons on the controller and the drone will beep and flash until the battery is dead. Trust me, if you have drone eating trees and bushes like I do this is a life saver and a nice touch.
As I mentioned, outside use is possible but anything more than a light zephyr will require you to power though to get back on course. The batteries charge with standard USB C cables which makes compatibility easy.
This is a very fun beginner level device that has well thought out features. Even with my experience with much higher end FPV drones I have this at hand when I just want to play a little.

Easy to Use and Well Made Entry Level Drone

This drone is an entry level device at an entry level price. It does allow you to learn the basics of operating a drone that has a camera (720P) and utilizes your cell phone to watch live or recorded videos.
The quick start guide is well written and is enough to permit you to do a test flight in a matter of minutes. The user guide has more details and I’d recommend reading it to understand all the features of this drone. With very little practice you can do loops and landings without any crashes. The guide also will help you to understand the procedures to start up, fly and land the drone. The steps to get the drone paired with the controller and also connected wirelessly to your cell phone are very straightforward and worked every time. When you crash, be sure you reset the drone so it will work correctly, but this process is very easy and quick.
It is a toy and is very light; as such it does get buffeted by the wind, but with practice you can learn to control it. I’d also recommend using the ‘headless’ mode which allows you to make turns using the control pad without knowing where the front of the drone is pointing. You can graduate to remove this mode once you are more skillful.
You get some spare parts such as 4 extra propellers, however I did find this little drone to be well made and several crashes did not damage it. You do get two drone batteries which is nice, and the control pad uses 3 AAA batteries not included. You can take videos and snapshots and view them on your cell phone, but be sure you connect the wireless on your cell to the drone, not to your home wireless.
It does give you a kick when you master some maneuvers with this little drone and take some photos & videos. It makes the perfect gift for a youngster to learn about flying drones. I would highly recommend this affordable entry point level drone.

This droid is fun, rather you are new to flying or have experience. It is easy to fly and has a fun light up theme for it for a fun evening flight time as well. If you have kids, they enjoy watching it fly around.
It has a couple quick buttons I like to call them. These buttons you can press, and it will perform those tasks. For instance, one button will allow it to take off and land for you. another button will allow the drone to fly in a circle pattern. (just make sure you are in an open area). With the app you can also customize the flight pattern by drawing your own pattern.
You can also just toss the drone up in the air and it will hover and then you can fly it from there as well.
It comes with 2 batteries for the drone. They use a USB-C to charge. It also comes with a soft carry bag as well. This bag fit everything in it.
A couple things I would have liked to have seen. I would like to have a way to charge the battery while it is still in the drone. unfortunately, you have to take the battery out to charge. Not too big a deal, just would have been nice not to have to. The cord that comes with it is pretty short. I would have liked to see a longer cord. Also, no block to plug into the wall. With the batteries, it would be nice to also see included the 3 AAA batteries for the remote or a rechargeable pack for that as well.
Overall, though, for price, this is a lot of fun and well worth it. Even better when you pair it with the app and can take pictures/videos with it. a 720p camera, may not be the best but still pretty good. Great fun to go to a park and fly around. Each battery gets about 9 or so min of flight time.

Snaptain k30 is my kid’s favorite drone. It’s easy to setup and control. The cool led lights really attract other kids. Every time my son is flying K30, it always other guys stop and stare, asking what this is. K30 is not just a toy for kids, it has HD camera and 3D flip capabilities which attract adults to play. The two batteries ensure K30 can fly much longer than others. Overall K30 is a fantastic choice. I give five star and recommend it.

I have owned a few different entry level drones under the $100.00 mark. I purchased them just to have fun and play around. This drone, however, is one of the best drones I have owned in that price point. It is very cool looking and has tons of features. Opening it up and getting it started is pretty easy. Once I got the app on my phone and synced it with the drone, I had it in the air. I love that I can just press one button and it will lift off, land or maintain it's altitude and position. It does these things very very well. It is pretty quick for a cheap drone. It definitely feels and performs much better than I expected. I love the simplicity of the controller and the color scheme of white and blue is really appealing to me. All the different colors for the led lights are cool. It looks really really cool in the dark. My nephew loves playing with it. The batteries charge easily and work as they should. I do wish the flight time was longer. It's only 18 minutes between both batteries but for a drone at this price point, that's about average. The camera is pretty good. It has a nice picture and doesn't lag very much. It's a great little drone that is very fun to play with. Overall, I am very pleased.

A toy drone that's fun for adults too.

The Snaptain K30 mini drone is marketed as a toy. It uses the same app as my other Snaptain drone. The app allows you to choose a model to control through a menu. The kit includes the drone, 2 batteries, spare propellers, a propeller tool, the remote controller, a phone holder that attaches to the remote controller and a drawstring bag to hold it all. The propellers are enclosed which limits damage from rough landings and contact while flying. The remote has a one touch takeoff function that I had a little trouble with. The drone would barely rise above the ground, was not level and drifted to the left quickly when using the one touch function. If I used the one touch function and the climb lever at the same time I got a good liftoff. I did get a bit more leftward drift most of the time, but it was easily overcome with steering on the remote. The batteries provide a stated 18-minute flight time. There is a 360 function which makes the drone do a flip. There are LED lights around the perimeter of the drone and a number of cool lighting effects that a button on the remote will allow you to scroll through. There is a 720p video camera that also takes still photos. The video and photo quality is very good. I've had fun playing with this drone both inside and out. It is a bit less stable/controllable than my other drone (remember that this one is marketed as a toy and my other one not). Our cat is not fond of the drone but it's pretty amusing to fly the drone into the room where the cat is and watch the cat flee. A great drone for the kids or for adults to learn on.

This is a great little drone, perfect for the kids. It has an HD camera on that works great with your phone. It has automatic takeoff and landing. It works great indoors or outdoors and was easy to setup. It also works great right out of the box.
The RGB Lights are really cool and add a nice touch. The joysticks work really well too belying a higher quality than the level of product implies. It comes with replacement propeller blades just in case but they're well protected given the style of the drone.
Overall, like I said it's a great little drone for the kids to use indoors or outdoors. So far the battery life has been great and it can land on low battery without issue. Its operating temperature range is minimal though so I recommend using it in cooler weather rather than warmer if using outside. It also comes fully assembled and not separate landing gear to worry about so it's easy to use right away. It's just a cool little drone that's already providing hours of entertainment for all ages.

Very Capable Beginner Drone

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
Cheap drones are a dime a dozen these days. Good drones are a bit less common, but nonetheless fairly easy to find assuming you're willing to pay the price for it. Finding a good cheap drone, however, is extremely difficult. As such the K30 stands out from the pack, even though the spec sheet for it may not immediately grab your attention. It's a great starter drone for a young (or just young at heart) pilot to learn on that won't necessarily break the bank in the event on an accident.
Flying the K30 is refreshingly straightforward, if not exactly effortless. It's not particularly powerful, meaning you absolutely do not want to fly it in heavy winds, but it's responsive and at times even nimble. One of the first things that you might notice when looking at the drone is a variety of features typically associated with higher end drones such as automatic takeoff and landings, gestures, voice control, automated flight paths, and so forth. I can confirm that these are all technically present. None of them, however, are what I'd call fully reliable. A drone this light just isn't going to be able to carry the compute and sensors needed to run a capable autopilot or AI powered image recognition. So instead you get something that's more like an assistant, lending a hand to a pilot who's still expected to do most of the work manually. For someone who's just starting out I'd actually consider this a positive. One of the issues with starting out with the kind of drones available from DJI or the like is that they assume so much of the work of flying that you won't necessarily learn the fundamentals required for manual control. The K30 more or less forces you to learn how to fly a quadcopter by being slightly fidgety, and yet still does enough work to make a serious disaster far less likely than it would be with a fully manual drone.
As far as the camera performance goes, I'd say it's passable. Images and video look fairly comparable to a webcam. There's no on board storage either, so you'll absolutely need to have a phone connected to it if you want the drone to be anything more than an aircraft. The software for this works fine - when it works at all. Unfortunately it's rather inelegantly put together. Getting it to talk to the drone at all requires you to go through a somewhat annoying process where you need to join the drone's unsecured WiFi network, turn off your mobile data, launch the Snaptain app, find the correct drone model, and then finally launch the control panel. Forgetting any of these steps or doing it out of order will stop the app from working, which was more than a little annoying. Once you're in though I have to say it's almost annoyingly capable, with plenty of advanced features enabled by the more powerful processor of your phone becoming available. If it only was a little less involved to get it running I'd actually recommend it, but as it stands it's my biggest complaint about the whole thing.
Ultimately though, I think most will still be able to live with the less than stellar app and grainy camera. I don't see this as anyone's endgame. It is a first step to bigger and better things - something you can crash into trees a dozen times as you learn to fly so that you don't crash a much more expensive device later.

I love technology with light effects. Even before receiving this Snaptain K30 mini drone, I really began to look forward to flying this drone in my backyard at night, so as to enjoy the drone's light effect feature.
To begin with, pairing/connecting the K30 drone to the companion Snaptain FPV app was a bit tricky, at least for me. I had to try several times, but finally got it to work. That being said, in my opinion, the app could use some improvement.
Included with the drone are spare propellers and 'rings,' a storage bag, tools (blade remover, mini screwdriver), along with a detailed user manual and quick start guide. Being able to refer to the diagrams and handy instructions is really useful.
While the drone's camera is only 720p, the picture and video quality isn't bad; on par with what you'd expect from 720p HD visuals. The tiny camera on the drone swivels from facing forward, or can be turned to point downwards in order to get those sweet overhead shots. Pics and videos you take are saved in the app, but they also saved to my mobile phone's camera album, as well.
Now, the clip that fastens onto the controller which holds your mobile phone, could be improved upon. With my simple protective case kept on my phone, the clip barely holds it in place, and I'm constantly worried it will fall out. I'm not going to want to remove my phone's case every time I want to play with the drone. Plus, the power and volume up/down buttons on my phone are positioned in such a way that causes me to not be able to have it sit center in the clip. So, all that is definitely a downside, IMO.
Although the controls on the remote are basic, it's still taking me a while to get the hang of flying this cute little drone. But I'll keep playing around with it, trying out different maneuvers, and work at becoming more confident. Right now, I'm a rather clumsy pilot. Yet the maneuverability of the Snaptain K30 mini drone itself is highly responsive; almost too responsive. So it's best to give yourself time to get a feel for how the drone moves and responds to the controls. Take it slow, at first.
The 'circle fly' and '3-D flip' maneuvers are super cool. Just make sure you have the advised space clearance, for safety's sake. However, I'm not a particular fan of the 'hold toss' take off procedure. I'm just hesitant to do it as my instinctive reaction is that the drone is going to fall to the ground and break.
How well made does this drone seem? While at first it might appear somewhat "flimsy," rest assured, it is not. This mini drone needs to be lightweight. Simply handle with care.
My husband is very much into flying drones, he owns several, but his are more "high end" than this drone. When compared to what I know of other drones, this Snaptain K30 mini drone is entry level, but has lots to offer and definitely brings the fun factor, for kids and adults alike!

This drone is amazing! I’ve always wanted one, and after doing a lot of research, I found this offer, and it was the best decision. Its price-to-performance ratio is unbeatable, offering advanced features like a clear camera and precise controls—things I’d expect from much more expensive models. Setup was quick and easy, and once it's in the air, the experience is so much fun. The battery life is pretty solid, allowing me to enjoy it longer on each flight. Perfect for beginners and enthusiasts like me!

Fun Toy Drone!

This thing is so much fun, my kids absolutely love this drone! Right off the bat, you need to understand this is a toy, not a pro grade drone, it doesn't have all the fancy features, it is a toy. But, that said, it is a bout the best toy my kids have gotten in a while, its a perfect size for indoors, the controls are super easy to use and its just fun to fly!
In the box you get the drone, a controller, extra propeller, and even two batteries which I thought was incredibly for this price point. The controller does feel a little cheap and the drone isn't particularly superb quality, but it feels well enough built and doesn't seem like it is going to fall apart.
Flying it is so easy, you don't need an app to fly, the controller just connects to the drone out of the box. Like I said above it isn't the most high tech drone, it won't hover perfectly in place and does get confused on how high it is some times, but overall it flies where you point the controller sticks and thats all I can ask. We have used it mostly indoors and it has taken some pretty good falls and hasn't seemed to be damaged at all. We have 25 foot ceiling and it has fallen all the way to the ground with no issues. I do have periodic issues with the controller not connecting to the drone but it seems to resolve after a reset.
There is an app that you can use to take pictures with the drones camera. The app is pretty bad and I couldn't get it to work on my phone. This is really the only issue I had, but again you aren't buying this thing to take pictures, its a toy.
Overall, I really like this drone, its great to keep in the house and let the kids pretend to be pilots. The batteries last long enough for them to have plenty of fun between charges and its simple enough for a 6 year old, what more can you ask!
