Customers are saying
Customers love the SP680 2.7k Drone's ease of use and camera quality, frequently praising its user-friendly design and decent image capture for the price. However, some users experienced challenges with the drone's wind resistance and stability, particularly in breezy conditions, noting difficulties with control and smooth landings. The drone's lightweight design, while contributing to its affordability, was also cited as a factor affecting its performance in windy environments. Concerns were also raised regarding the responsiveness of the controls and the drone's ability to maintain a stable position.

Waist of 140.00$
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This product was broken. I gave it to my son as a gift. Because I had it for over 2 weeks before trying it and realized it was broken I passed the 2 weeks deadline on returning this item. I'll be shopping at stores with a better return policy.

OK for the price range but be careful with it
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sets up and flies ok but easy to lose and battery cover is easy to break. Does not respond correctly to the "Home" function, and typically flips on landing. Recommend practicing several times in a well-protected area as it can easily get away and be hard to locate.

Good drone for a beginner like me
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am new to drones, so I don't know a lot to compare it to, but this drone, the SP680, seems to be a good drone for a beginner like I am. At least based on my experience with it, you don't want me in the cockpit of the next airplane you're on, but I did have a blast flying this around. It definitely had its challenges though. Out of the box there's minimal assembly--some tiny, tiny screws are required for the landing rails and the propeller guards. Thankfully the included screwdriver was magnetic, which made it vastly easier to get them in. There are three batteries total and you'll need to charge up before flying. The battery compartment is fussy to deal with and the plastic seems a little weak around it, with a lot of flex. You'll need to be careful swapping the batteries. Near the battery compartment is the microSD slot for the camera. Pairing to the remote control is pretty easy and takes just a few seconds; you'll need 4 AA batteries for the remote. Alternatively, you can fly the drone with the app by connecting the app to an ad hoc wifi network the drone generates. This also allows for a live camera feed to the phone. I found controlling the drone to be more difficult with the app, but the camera feed is very nice. Flying was fun, once I (sorta) got the hang of it. I will admit that I crashed a lot in the beginning--trees, bushes, my neighbor's house, the ground. Thankfully nothing hard and the drone escaped unscathed except for some leaves from inadvertent trimming. But I got better as I practiced more, paying attention to the lights on the bottom (red lights on front, green on back, which threw me a little because normally that tells port/starboard on a ship or plane). I got some decent pictures of my yard from high up and did some fun 360 degree flips. I have a pretty big yard, but I'd suggest trying it out in an open field somewhere first until you get more practiced. I did notice the wind definitely could push this around some, so keep that in mind as well; I used the trim functions to try to compensate but keeping it completely still was difficult in the wind. Overall, for my first drone experience, it was a lot of fun. I think this is a good drone for a beginner as it seems pretty versatile and it's easy to get started with, though flying definitely has a bit of a learning curve.

It flew, but it wouldn't photo.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It was a decent drone, I liked the extra batteries. I can't really tell you how the camera works, though, since the drone wouldn't power on at all with the camera connected. It was returned for a refund.

Uncontrollable
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Don't waste your money. Spend a few more hundred and get a unit that is trimmable. This unit was simply uncontrollable. Perhaps defective, but I think it is just an inferior product. Not beginner friendly.

Feels like watching money literally fly away.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My first drone experience went pretty much the way I thought it would. I always thought the first time out would end up much like RC car experiences where as soon as I get on the road I drill it into the curb at full tilt and break a wheel off. My first impression went opening the box was the plastics were super light and felt very cheap. Same sentiment for the remote. I understand the drone needs to be lightweight in order to fly. It just doesn't feel the least bit substantial. And I hate those tiny screws for the blade guards and skids. A tip when putting the screws in, do it over the Styrofoam packaging. That will catch those tiny screws then you drop them 20 times each. Day 1 I was calibrating and learning basic controls. Trimming did not seem to do anything and the SP680 kept drifting and I was never able to keep it in place. Once I got fairly comfortable with the controls I got braver and I sent the drone up over my house frm the backyard using the feed to my phone but SOON began to lose connection. I ran to the front of the house and was able to maintain connection to get it to land in place. But before then it kept climbing getting man handled by 7-8mph winds. I played around for it a bit longer until battery 1 wore out. The rest of the batteries were charged over night which I was glad to see that the unit came with 2 usb battery chargers that can connect 2 batteries each. Day 2 again the winds were 6-8mph sunny to the point where I could not see the orientation leds and had to go only by the video feed I was mainly playing with it over our front yard at shoulder height. Again I became for comfortable and decided to got higher and I tried doing a survey of my roof/gutters. However I could not get it to stay stable enough in one place to see anything clearly and it keep getting too close to the roof. Almost crashing I shot it up higher at which point it took off gaining roughly 15ft over my roof and continued to climb over to my neighbors backyard up over their treeline into the woods all while spinning making it impossible to establish and orientation. At that point he video feed froze and the remote became completely useless. I tried the auto return function but it kept sailing up past the treeline and out of view. I searched the area in the direction where I lost it for about an hour but its in dense wooded area. It is probably hung up in the foliage with no way to see the leds before the sun goes down. I had literally less then 25mins of flight time with my first drone until it was lost to the ether. Connecting to the app and getting it setup was fairly easy and painless. This drone definitely needs an auto return function when it loses radio signal or at least a return to where it last had a signal. Otherwise it should only be used where you can maintain line of sight. It was not a good feeling seeing it just sail away and not being able to do anything about it. So my first drone experience went just as how I'd imagine it. Lesson learned here that a cheap drone is meant to be lost or smashed. It may be a while before I venture to try drones again.
