I love using it because I love soda. You save a lot of money

I enjoyed the countertop soda fountain. Had to play with the mixes to get the desired flavor. After a while became more effort than it was worth and the co2 is expensive. Nice for carbonated water however.

Disappointed to find the store was selling expied product 2 months old. All other product on the shelf was also expired 2 months old

Works very well, more sleeker designs out there now. Be sure to recycle your carbon canister and trade in at Best Buy.

This is a neat product for a day or two. Then it just sits there taking up space.

Like most people, I was skeptical about this machine. Sure it seems like a neat idea, to have a compact home soda fountain that can be relatively inexpensive, be easy to use and maintain, and simply make great tasting Soda's. Yesterday, the Sodastream representative was in the store and I finally got to try and taste it. I was instantly sold and purchased it on spot. Yes there is an initial cash outlay to purchase the machine, but this is something that I could see my family using for years. We drink tons of soda- which admittedly is not good for you and the cost of the "name-brands" keep going up. The Sodastream soda's are MUCH better for you than 95% of the drinks out there (very low or no suger, no high-fructose corn syrup, much lower sodium, no aspartame, etc). The machine itself is very easy to use and clean and the bottles are pretty durable (they have a rubber seal on the caps so they hold carbonation for far far longer than regular soda bottles). They are NOT hot water or dishwasher safe so you have to take care when cleaning them. What do they taste like? Well they taste fairly close to the real thing, but more like store generic cola's- but even the regular cola flavor is quite a bit less sweet than the "real" stuff. It's actually quite good, especially if you are used to buying generic soda's. I haven't had a chance to try all the flavors (the machine comes with 12 different flavors (12 Liters!)) but the few I have tried (Mountain Dew, Cola, Diet Dr. Pepper) have all been very good. Now the best part- the Energy drink. For those of you who drink Red Bull regularly (and that includes myself), this flavor makes the machine worth it by itself. IT TASTES EXACTLY LIKE RED BULL. A $5 bottle of the "Energy" syrup is about $100 in "real" Red Bull and you CAN'T TELL THE DIFFERENCE. All-in-all, a very well thought out and engineered product. I can't be more thrilled and highly recommend it!

The product itself is very easy to set-up and use. You'll be making your own pop in about 5 minutes after opening up the box. The product also has a small profile on your counter and obviously does not need a plug so you have options on where it fits in your kitchen. The flavors that I've tried and use are very close their Coke counterparts. We stick to the Coke, Diet Coke and Zero flavors. While they do not match exactly, they are close enough for our liking. The part we really like is that we can control the carbonation so while my wife likes pop more carbonated; I like pop with a little less bubbles. Since you control the carbonation, you can play around with it to fit your liking.

I was very dissapointed in the taste of this product! This was nothing close to major soda brands, but more like off brand cheap soda. I was very excited to try this product, yet was so disappointed in the taste that I had to return it. I would not recommend this product.

First off. From a performance standpoint this product does make decent soft drinks easily. There is a wide variety of flavors available and it is easy to get both the flavors and exchange canisters at most locations. The caffeination level is adequate, though I do believe most retail bottles are still more caffeinated. The flavors while similar are clearly distinguishable. As if you bought a store brand cola, ginger ale etc. There is also the lies told by sodastream. They promote sodastream as a money saving solution. It is not that. At all. It is cheaper to buy soda traditionally. This is because of the price of CO2 canisters. They label canisters 60L. It does not make anywhere near 60L worth of soda. I get approximately 34 liters out of a 60L canister. This is of course only if fizzing to the "average 3 buzzes". Which is far flatter than a new bottled soda. Also while they label the bottles as 1L bottles, you are not making 1L worth of soda. Following instructions exactly, to the fill line, fizzing, and adding flavor will yield 0.9L. Every 10 bottles you make will only be 9L worth of soda. So this is far more expensive than just buying bottles. I still use mine regularly. I do it merely for convenience. Living in a 4th floor walkup in NYC, bottles are a hassle. Carrying them up stairs, storing them, and then having to recycle them after. The convenience of making my own soda holds value, and for me that outweighs the extra premium I'm paying to make my own soda. Do not believe you will be saving money with this. Unless you're one of the few people willing to fill your own CO2, buy your own huge tanks etc. this cost a lot more.

then I could be stinking rich by now. Ha ha ha. This has been by far the best "kitchen gadget" I have ever purchased. It is incredibly easy to use, it uses just plain tap water, and gives you back a liter of good tasting soda. I like the fact that you can control the amount of carbonation, thereby affecting the taste. I haven't found a syrup yet that I don't like, but the Diet Energy is my favorite by far. It's even better when I tell my friends that I only pay 6.99 for 24 1/2L cans of it. I use this machine every day at least once, so it is saving me a ton of money.

Absolutely great once you get used to it. It will save you all of the aluminum recycling and hauling all of those heavy cases of pop from the grocery store. You will learn some tricks when it comes to filling the 1 liter bottles. It will ask you to hit the button 3 times and then wait for the "louder" buzz. The thing is you hit the button 3 times no buzz, then hit it an additional 3 times until you hear the "very distinctive" buzz 3 times to get the correct amount of carbonation. We also learned that it's best to keep cold bottles of water in the fridge and when it comes time, take one out, add the carbonation, then the flavor of choice. Leaving it out will save and give you the best carbonation possible. Yes, you will need more ice during the summer, but oh well. The flavors of pop are very similar to the ones you're used to and you can always tinker. With some practice, you will love this product!

Bought this for myself and my kids, we love it very nice soda taste, easy for kids to use!! Like the small design, usually takes 4 pumps to hear buzz! Should get around 60 liters from 1 cartridge before replacing it, found $20.00 rebate at recycle bank very happy about that overall very happy with this purchase!!

The SodaStream I purchased did not work well. It did not hold the "fizz" for long at all. I will be returning it.

Most everybody who has tried this has agreed it is over rated. Inconsistent flavors and carbonation.

I was very hesistant at first in buying this product however after reading the reviews, I was convinced to try it out. This is a great product and a must have one for soda or flavored carbonized water drinkers. Very easy to use and the taste is really fantastic. I tried it with my friends and compared it to a well known brand, they selected Soda Stream's Cola...amazing. I am very happy with my purchase and this is highly recommended.

The sodastream is a great idea that doesn't deliver well. Some flavors are great (anything cranberry) but otherwise you find yourself wanting real soda after a while. As a diabetic, I found the diet options to be good especially if you shop online. Some say its healthier that bottled but I can't comment on that. I will say that the savings in money isn't great once you figure in cost of flavoring, carbonation canister, and water filter (recommended for better taste). I would recommend this to people that hate hauling bottles of soda and are looking for diversity in soda they can't find at their local store.

This is my first SodaStream and I truly enjoy it. Im not a huge soda fan but I like how I can have a little soda when I want to and not having cans take up space in my fridge. I also like the fact that I can have other flavors like lemonade and flavored waters. Great purchase~!

At first glance the price seems high for this home soda maker but if you drink a 24 pack a week or a redbull a day within a few months it pays for itself. You have to experiment with the flavors; energy=redbull, fountain mist=mountain dew, orange=shasta, cola=disgusting but once you find the flavors you like you'll never let this little machine go!.
