I tried a carbonater decades ago and at that time they just didn't work well. Decided to give it another go after recently reading positive reviews. This product works very well and totally satisfies my thirst for carbonated water. It is very easy to use and water retains its carbonation. Not sure why the carbonating bottles have a 3-year expiration date on them, but maybe they will develop permanent ones.

This is the 3rd SodaStream machine I have owned. The first one lasted 10 years. The 2nd one is a different model and only uses the smaller capacity carbonators. Fine, but needs replacement cartridges quicker. I bought this one to perfectly replace my original unit. Apparently the factory changed the way they make them about a year ago. It now takes about 10 or so pumps to get the same amount of carbonation that 7 used to (and it still advertises about 7). So I am needing to use more at a higher expense. I am disappointed, although I am happy to still own the machine. It will probably cost me more to drink my soda, but I am saving the environment.

After purchasing and carrying (I live in NYC) tens if not hundreds of soda water bottles home, I decided to purchase a soda stream. This was one of the best decisions to make. This is one of the items that you think you don't need, but once you have it, you don't know what you would do without it. By using it, you're saving money on soda water and saving time by not having to haul bottles home. Additionally, the soda water is just as good if not better than what you buy at the store. You can also add flavors to make low calorie drinks. If you drink sodas or soda water, then this item is for you.

This is a great item I use it every single day but it is not a money-saving machine it is simple to use it is simple to operate the carbonator are easy and simple. You don't save any money because the carbonators are expensive $14.99 and that is just for the refill the soda syrup are about 5 to 7 dollars Hey carbonator if you use it like I do once or twice a day will last you about 28 to 35 days and that is what the operation of three pumps It doesn't save me any money but I do drink less soda since I don't have to buy it I control the sugar and I control how sweet or how much carbonation to put in my drinks so in that case yes it is actually a very awesome product but it doesn't actually save any money every three months or every two months I buy five or six of the syrups instead when I started doing is actually just using the carbonation and buying other sweeteners Such as MIO, crystal light and other syrups that last longer and are much cheaper. Still I love it, cocktails and drinks are awesome. Not for saving money.

We have a SodaStream at home and wanted to get one for our friend to use for their home and at parties. This model was different than the one we have but is very simple to use and works just as well. It comes with plastic cap bottles (the higher models come with metal capped bottles) and some sample syrups and a starter tank of gas. It is a model where the bottle screws in to the base unit rather than locking in otherwise and you simply push on the button at the top to add bubbles. Definitely worth the price if you want sparkling water or sodas at home on demand.

The directions were straight-forward, and the unpacking, cleaning, assembling and soda-making took about ten minutes. I'm probably not going to use the free mix sampler, but I'm happy with the carbonated water available whenever I want.

I wasn't sure about this product, but it intreagued me and delivered on all fronts. If you ever liked a drink but thought, its too fizzy or, this would be good carbinated - this is perfect for you. It's also a cheaper way to have soda vs cans and you get to customize flavors and strength of sweetness. Further, the mixes have little/0 cal's.

I had been wanting one of these machines for over 10 years, back when they used to only be sold in marine stores around here and were called Soda Club. I never wanted to spend the money on one though. Well, Best Buy had them on sale for $60, so I figured they weren't going to get any cheaper than that. The machine itself works great, you can get the water as carbonated as you want it, and it stays carbonated for at least all the next day (maybe longer, but I always drink it all by the next day). This is the value machine. I was looking at the 3 they had at Best Buy, I thought this one was nicer than the one they had for $20 more. The only problem is sometimes it's a pain to screw the bottles on when you carbonate them. This problem is fixed with the machine that's $129.99 in the store, because the bottle just snaps on, but I didn't think it was worth an extra $50. The only complaint I have is that ALL the flavors had half sugar, half sucralose in them. I hate diet drinks. They didn't make them without the sucralose. Finally, they came out with some flavors they call their natural line, and they're made with all sugar, and they taste much better than the normal flavors, but they only have a few flavors in natural. Plus they charge an extra $2 for them, which is kind of annoying.

My friends originally had this, and when I got to use it at their place, I was sold. I like the fact that it is easy to use and you can make pop pretty easily. I like that you can choose whichever flavor you want and how strong you want the flavor/carbonation to be. I also like how you can see that almost all of your pop is just water, and that there are less unhealthy chemicals/ingredients in the syrup. I don't drink much pop, so for me this is a great alternative to conventional brands' drinks. The only complaints I have are that you can only make it 1 Liter at a Time and the sample flavors they give you are not enough to have full flavor in 1 liter. Overall I'm happy with my purchase

This easy machine is great it really makes pop I'm amazed I love it don't over think putting it together it's very easy almost to easy just look at a video on youtube if you have any trouble

I bought this Item at least a month ago. Its very easy to use. Make excellent Soda. It tastes as good as any beverages out there in the market.

Happy to own a bar accessories that provides variation and limitless amounts of mixers. The unit does not require power and is easy to use (I was able to teach my young son how to use it quickly).

Love this SodaStream soda maker. Easy to use and allows you to add as much carbonation as you like - that's my favorite part. I like a lot of bubbles, others in my family like less. This is the best way to save on soda too. No more flat 2 liters sitting in the frig! If 1 liter is too much for you simply buy the 1/2 liter bottles - these are perfect for single servings and the fizz is good the next day too! Great value and fun!

Great seltzer. Easy to use. The CO2 cartridge seemed to last a long time. 3 pushes until you hear a buzz after each push gives perfect carbonation each time.

Well its better than I thought it would be pop tastes decent and is carbonated properly

I purchased this on a whim and to my pleasure it was a great decision! It makes sodas perfectly well and much cheaper then the more expensive models and brands. I got this on a Holiday special and the price was very good as well. I recommend this for anyone who like sodas and they can make whatever flavors their little hearts like. Great purchase!

Great option for people looking to replace store bought drinks and overly sweetened sugar content. Now we have an easy to learn system that gives us more control over the ingredients that go into our carbonated drinks at home! I don't know if this SodaStream will completely replace canned drinks at home yet, so I cannot say that it will save us money long term. What I do know is that we can enjoy fizzy water without all the unnecessary corn syrups and chemicals now! Included bottle does a fantastic job and retaining carbonation over numerous days, unlike 2 liter bottles from the store. Definitely a worthwhile buy!

I kept putting off buying one of these because I was concerned about the reviews of some of the flavors available. I'm so glad that I did buy it. I use it daily and have several bottles made at a time. My favorite is the diet orange. Great taste! I also like the fact that the carbonator bottles can be exchanged for a full one at half the cost of a new one.

So since most reviews and instructions are way off let me explain how to use this product right to make sodas. Important: when not using unscrew the CO2 canister to ensure it doesn't leak. When you take the 1 Liter bottles be sure to fill with filtered and COLD water. Keep one or two bottles chilling in the fridge so they are very cold and so is the bottle. This helps for carbonation. Now if you want it to be carbonated like soda push the button at the top 4-6 times until it makes a passing gas sound. Do two or three more pushes with the gas sound and then let it sit for 1 minute before detaching. This will give you a properly carbonated soda water. Now you need to add the soda flavoring. I DO NOT recommend using the Soda Stream syrups. They use odd chemicals with terrible aftertaste and the soda's taste strange. Instead use other soda makers, you can even sometimes get actual soda syrup from wholesale retailers. I prefer Pittsburgh Soda Pop. Their Steel City Cola tastes VERY close to coke and their Grape is fantastic. They have lots of other soda flavors as well and they don't use fructose syrup. Overall I would not say soda stream saves money, but it does deliver very good carbonation and great soda if the right syrup is used. Much more organic and since its a liter at a time and the lids work well you won't ever have to deal with flat soda. Haven't bought a store soda since.

After mulling over it for some time I finally decided to purchase the SodaStream starter kit over a month ago, and so far I've enjoyed this product. It's quite simple to set up and use, and it doesn't take up significant space in the kitchen. It comes with a 1L bottle, a CO2 tank, and 6 sample flavors, my favorites being orange, root beer, and energy drink. A second bottle would've been convenient in order to have another flavor available in the fridge. My only gripe is that it may not seem like a money saver initially but it will be in the long run.
