You definitely have to get the mixture right to avoid a slightly bitter aftertaste. I tried following the directions and also using my own mix ratio, but in the end there was always a bitter aftertaste. You also have to get the right amount of fizz to replicate a can of Pepsi. However, because you can control the amount of mix you use it’s perfect for people that want to reduce their sugar intake.

Decided to give the Pepsi a try. Tastes pretty close to the cans. The nice thing is I can control how much Carbonation I want and the level of sweetness.

From my tasting, it's got a flavor profile somewhere inbetween Dr. Pepper and Pepsi Cherry. It's not bad, per say, but if you're coming in expecting a 100% Pepsi taste, you'll probably be disappointed.
