Something missing from the registry. Laptop was maybe 6 weeks past purchase! I feel I should not have been charged, but the kid would not budge. Not real thrilled with the laptop either, seems quite slow to me, it drags. Would like to have gotten a more expensive one, but my friend paid for it. $1200. Next time I'll order from the manufacturer and forego a purchase at Best Buy.

Geek squad disappointment

I scheduled an appointment for pickup and then I sat there while the geek squad guy did his thing in silence because he never said a word and frowned at me when I asked a question. Finally he handed over my new laptop and basically pushed me out the door. He might be good at the tech thing but he had ZERO customer skills and should NOT be dealing with the public. I scheduled another appointment and still did not receive much help in learning how to use a new laptop. This was all extra disappointing because when I dropped my new computer off at the Geek Squad the young lady who helped me was AMAZING!! She was SUPER knowledgeable and personable! SHE is the only reason I even gave them one star! I am hoping future interactions are a serious improvement. We will see…

Remove skype from laptop

Not Too Helpful Yet

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am paying for the Geek Squad to help but so far all I have gotten is them telling me I can find the answer online. That is so disappointing. I am not tech saavy that is why I bought the support. I still don't have my printer hooked up and haven't been able to use it since I purchased the new computer. You hear good things but I sure haven't experienced it yet. Unfortunately, right now I wish I wouldn't have paid for a year of support.

Not Equipped for Gaming Software Repair Services
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed a simple recovery tool instillation and update on gaming headset because it was only compatible on a Windows PC, and the person did his best but didnt install the software on the usb piece correctly because he left it switched to console mode. I'm annoyed that this cost me $40 and that's after Best Buy sold me this lemon of a headset for $150. I think the cost of these attempts of service should also reflect their capabilities. Why can't they make sure it fully works in store? Why is there not an xbox/playstation console in the store that is dedicated for gaming services? I pray any manager of Geek Squad reads this so they can strengthen their facility.

Horrible, Inconsiderate, Overpriced!!

Was told three times my computer was fixed at each time it wasn't, huge inconvenience constantly driving back and forth to the store. Geek squad representatives were also incredibly rude and inconsiderate, booking me appointments to discuss my computer with technicians just for me to arrive there and no technicians be there. Never ever using geek squad again, most likely never buying from Best buy again as well.

Geeks are missing in action

The second reschedule was very confusing and made me miss an important Doctor appointment. I know have to wait till June for appointment. Not a happy camper.

Partial installation

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.In transferring Word documents, they installed the “Alias” I had on the desktop, but not the actual documents file (which was quite large)—so I did it myself. Also, bother, some of the files from an old edition of Word transferred as Unix files, which can only materialize through a primitive processor (luckily on board). They did better with the photo files and the apps.

They didnt know what the problem was

I took it to their geek squad and they couldn't find out what the problem was. So they told me they would try to reinstall windows 10 yet didn't tell me it would cost anything. It still isn't fixed and i had to pay half of the reinstall price because they said it was partially my fault for not asking.

NOT HAPPY WITH SEVICE!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.When I bought my computer I asked if I could have all files and such transferred from the old to the new. I was told I could. When I came in to get my computer after the setup was done, I was told that I couldn't do the file transfer as the machine was broken. I was told to call back in a week to see if I could schedule that to be done. I waited a week and a half, and when I called to schedule, I kept getting "we do not accept calls at this location". I called the 800 number and the customer service agent sounded like she had no idea what she could do for me and then said that she would enter a message to have someone call me back. It's been a week and I have had no calls. This means a trip or possibly two back to the store to ask questions and schedule appts. NOT HAPPY!!!!
