Won't fit old gen Stick Up
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This doesn't work with Gen 1 Stick Up camera, so I had to get it and a new Stick Up because they changed the solar panel/Stick Up interface. Very expensive "solution" to replacing their old solar panel that eventually failed.

Posted .Hello Letterman,
Thank you for expressing your concern about the solar panel’s compatibility. We understand how important it is to match the correct solar panel for your Ring Stick Up Cam. Please know we are here to shed some light on the subject.
As time has passed, Ring has evolved our line-up of products to better serve our customers. The Ring Stick Up Cams and Solar Panels have both undergone a few changes to streamline compatibility and user-friendliness. For example, some products originally featured a micro USB charging port and cable. Since then, we have standardized the new cameras and panels to use a barrel-type plug, which will in fact fit the Ring Stick Up Cam Battery (3rd Gen) and Ring Spotlight Cam Battery.
Our team is happy to discuss this in more detail to help find a solution. Please check out our community forum at https://community.ring.com/ for some additional tips and support. We look forward to turning your experience around.
Thank you,

Posted .Hello Homeview,
Thank you for taking a moment to leave your review of the Ring Solar Panel. We know how important it is to have peace of mind when it comes to your home security, and having an unresponsive device can be concerning. Please know that we are here to assist and are confident that we can find you a resolution in a timely manner.
After reading your review, it seems that your Ring Solar Panel is not fully charging your Ring Spotlight Camera Battery. Ring recommends at least three to four hours of direct sunlight, depending on your usage. Make sure there are no obstructions that could cast a shadow on your solar power device, such as an extended roof, tree branches, or bushes. If your installation area is frequently very cloudy or gets a lot of rain or snow, this could limit the amount of sunlight that your solar power device receives.
The solar panel requires direct sunlight. Filtered/indirect sunlight through the clouds will not provide a charge to your doorbell/camera. Only slows down battery usage
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For the high fifty dollar price this item only slows down the battery usage. I have it in direct sunlight and facing south! If you are dependent on the camera get the wired version. I returned one of the wireless for a wired.

Posted .Hi there, I know it's important to have a consistent and reliable power source for your Spotlight Cam or Stick Up Cam. Check that the Solar Panel is firmly connected to the Camera and free of any dirt or debris. It's also important to keep in mind that the Solar Panel requires about 3-4 hours of direct sunlight per day to provide a trickle charge to the battery. Posted .Hi HPlaptop. Knowing how to keep your Spotlight Cam adequately powered is important so you can maintain peace of mind. The Solar Panel is designed to provide a trickle charge to your Spotlight Cam Battery so you do not have to charge the battery as often. If the weather is cloudier than usual or your Solar Panel does not receive several hours of direct sunlight per day, the battery in your Spotlight Cam may discharge faster than it can be charged. You can find more information on the Solar Panel in this Help Center article: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360027261771-Super-Solar-Panel-for-Stick-Up-Cam-and-Spotlight-Cam-Information. Could be improved
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The solar panel is not as affective it should be. Needs direct sunlight for best performance instead of just sunlight. The panel has limited adjustments. Needs to be improved to adjust in a 360 degrees manner.

Posted .Hi Gamer,
We strive to deliver quality products that will serve you in the long run as we understand that you will be relying on them for your home security. The Ring Solar Panel is designed to provide a trickle charge to the battery when the panels at the top receive direct sunlight. It is important to note the panel does need to receive a few hours of direct sunlight every day to be effective.
If your camera experiences excessive activity, the trickle charge may not be able to increase the battery life, rather just maintain it. If you have located your camera in a high traffic area, please ensure the motion settings accurately reflect your needs. For example, you could reduce the size of the motion zone to ensure unnecessary movement is not detected, and thus save battery life. Another possible solution is relocating the solar panel to an area that receives more direct sunlight.
We understand you've purchased an additional battery, which is a great solution. Please reach out to us today at https://community.ring.com/, for additional tips and support. We look forward to hearing from you!
All the Best,
Danielle with Ring

Great in theory
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this for a stick up cam (says it’s compatible) so I didn’t have to recharge the battery. I have great, unbroken southern exposure so the panel is is the sun all day. The problem is it doesn’t seem to work or keep the battery charged. Hook up is easy, plug it in and change setting off battery power to continuous power. I’m giving this a 2 because I may not have the settings correct (although I think it is) but the support is so bad that it warrants this rating (IMO).
