The Ring Solar Panel is designed to be a convenient power source to help charge and extend the battery life in your Ring Camera. The panel requires several hours of direct sunlight every day to effectively charge the battery. The ability to recharge the battery varies based on device settings, motion notifications, and sun exposure in the area of placement. The Solar Panel should not be installed in a shaded area.

We agree that extending the time between manual recharges of the battery pack is essential when it comes to monitoring activity around your home. Another option you might consider is purchasing an extra battery to ensure your camera does not receive downtime between charges.

The Ring Solar panel is weather resistant with operating temperatures between -5 °F to 120 °F (-20.5 °C to 48.5 °C). Extreme weather does have the potential to impact your device, so this is important to keep in mind with where you install your Ring Solar Panel.

The Solar Panel for the Spotlight or Stick Up Cam Battery can help extend the amount of time between charges by providing a trickle charge to the battery. How effective this trickle charge is depends on a few different factors, such as the amount of direct sunlight the Solar Panel receives and how much activity the Camera is recording. It is essential to have peace of mind when it comes to your home security and the battery life in your Ring camera plays a big role in that.

This particular Ring Solar Panel is compatible with the Ring Spotlight Cam or Ring Stick Up Cam Battery, and is connected via the barrel adapter cable. This solar panel is not compatible with the original (now discontinued) Ring Stick Up Cam.

We understand at this time you've returned the Ring Solar Panel, as it did not have the proper connection for your stick-up cam model. If your installation area is frequently very cloudy or gets a lot of rain or snow, this could limit the amount of sunlight that your solar power device receives.

The solar panel requires direct sunlight. Filtered/indirect sunlight through the clouds will not provide a charge to your doorbell/camera. The Solar Panel for the Ring Spotlight Cam and Stick Up Cam Battery was certainly intended to extend the battery life on your Ring camera, so you can rely on your security device for longer periods of time without recharging the battery. We can definitely provide you with more information regarding the concern mentioned in your review.

It sounds like your Ring Solar Panel is not charging your device as expected. Ring solar products require direct sunlight to stay charged and provide power to the device. If the weather is cloudy or it rains or snows, this would limit the direct sunlight your device receives, which would lessen the charge. Colder temperatures may also cause your device's lithium-ion battery to drain excessively. With prolonged cloudy or winter weather, you may need to manually recharge the battery more frequently. When sunny weather returns and the solar panel receives enough direct sunlight again, it will keep the device powered.

Hi there, I know it can be discouraging when things don't work as expected. Make sure the Solar Panel is clear of any dirt or debris, and is firmly connected to your Camera. Also, ensure the Solar Panel is receiving several hours of direct sunlight per day. If it's not receiving sufficient direct sunlight, it will not be able to provide a trickle charge to your Camera.
