      Hello Nichols,

Thank you for taking a moment to leave your review on the Ring Solar Panel. We know how important it is to have peace of mind when it comes to your home security and having an unresponsive device can be concerning. Please know that we are here to assist and are confident that we can find you a
      resolution in a timely manner.

After reading your review, it seems that your Ring Solar Panel is not fully charging your Ring Spotlight Camera Battery. Ring recommends at least three to four hours of direct sunlight, depending on your usage. Make sure there are no obstructions that could be casting a shadow on your solar power device such as an extended roof, trees branches, or bushes. If your installation area is frequently very cloudy or gets a lot of rain or snow, this could limit the amount of sunlight that your solar power device receives.

The solar panel requires direct sunlight. Filtered/indirect sunlight through the clouds will not provide a charge to your doorbell/camera. Here is a helpful article that explains this in more detail: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360061517732-Solar-Charger-and-Solar-Panel-for-Ring-Doorbells-troubleshooting.

      Hello Shamehdi,

The Ring Solar Panel is designed to be a convenient power source to help charge and extend the battery life of your Ring Spotlight or Stick Up Cam. We understand that extending the time between manual recharges of the battery pack is essential when it comes to monitoring activity around your home.

While the battery in your Ring camera can go months between recharges with normal use. This is dependent on a number of factors in your home's environment such as the local weather, signal strength, sun exposure, and the number of activities captured. The more events captured by your Ring camera, the more your battery is used to power the live 1080p HD video stream to your device. To prevent excessive activity, you can adjust your motion settings to a lower sensitivity, disable certain zones, or change motion frequency to Regularly or Periodically.

The Ring Solar Panel is a great addition to prolong the time between manual recharges of the battery. Ensuring the camera is set up properly within the Ring app and the solar panel is receiving enough sunlight is our top priority. Please reach out to us today at https://community.ring.com/, for additional tips and support. We look forward to hearing from you!

      Thank you,
      Danielle with Ring Ring

I purchased 4 ring spotlight battery cams and one wired spotlight cam. Bjg mistake. I should have done my homework. I installed everything and thought I would have loved the system. The cameras felt a little cheap but that wasn't an issue for me. The problems were horrible audio quality, very subpar resolution for what they call 1080p video, numerous connectivity issues, and lights that you had absolutely zero way of turning off or snoozing. I returned these cameras and decided to spend the extra money to buy nest cameras. Also run on the exact same wifi at the exact same locations with zero problems. The video quality is fantastic and the audio is clean and clear. Do your homework people. I'll leave it at that.

The battery in my spotlight camera only lasted 1 week with this panel. Tried moving it and resetting everything, and then the camera would not work. Disconnected the solar panel and reset the camera. We tried to get in touch with customer service and nobody was available...even with instant chatting. We thought we were doing something wrong, but it is such an easy set up. Very disappointed because I need to climb a ladder in freezing temperatures to charge to battery in my camera. We will be returning the solar panel. Definitely not worth the money.

After reading your review, it seems that your Ring Solar Panel is unresponsive. Ring recommends at least three to four hours of direct sunlight, depending on your device's battery usage. Make sure there are no obstructions that could be casting a shadow on your solar power device such as an extended roof, trees branches, or bushes. While your solar power device will extend your battery’s life and the time between needed recharges, it does not eliminate the need to recharge your battery. Please ensure the panel is properly connected to the camera device by following these instructions: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360027341612-Connecting-Your-Super-Solar-Panel-to-Your-Spotlight-Cam.

      Hi TravelingJack,

You have brought up some great points, and I appreciate you taking the time to provide feedback on your experience with our Solar Panel. Having the right environment for your Ring Solar Panel is imperative to the device's performance. I want to ensure your Solar Panel is providing you with optimal performance, so you feel confident in its ability to keep your Ring Camera charged.

As you have already addressed a few environmental factors that could impede the performance of your device, I imagine you have done a bit of investigating on your own. One factor that is commonly missed is the frequency of events your Ring Camera is capturing. If your camera is capturing events too often, it may be impacting your Solar Panel's ability to keep the device charged. You can learn more about motion frequency, and finding the best setting for your environment: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/115003477106-Understanding-and-Optimizing-Motion-Detection-with-Motion-Frequency

I value your time and I would love to get you connected with a Solar Panel product specialist to address these concerns. Please reach out to us at your earliest convenience.

      Thank you,
      Caitlin with Ring Ring
