Actually Kills My Ring Battery!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this as a solution to charge my Ring Stick Up cam. After charging my ring battery, as per the instructions, I set up my solar charger and began using it to charge my Stick Up Cam. After less than 24 hours, with PLENTY of sun, my Cam died. I then recharged the battery and reestablish connection to the solar charger. Again the battery died. In the end I charged my Ring battery and disconnected from the solar charger, making this purchase a complete waste of money. Just my honest experience...

Posted .Hi Rray,
We are happy to have you as a part of the Ring community and thank you for sharing your Ring Solar Panel experience with us! The panel is a small device that can be mounted outdoors and connected to your Ring Spotlight Cam or Stick Up Cam. It can be mounted anywhere on a wall or a roof, but should be placed in an area that gets at least a few hours of direct sun each day. When mounting the solar panel be sure to look out for overhanging branches or the shadows of nearby objects that may block the sun.
The ability to recharge the battery varies based on device settings, motion notifications, and sun exposure in the area of placement. Extending the time between manual recharges of the battery pack is essential when it comes to monitoring activity around your home. Our dedicated support team would love to discuss this with you in more detail. Can you please reach out to us at amazon.advocates@ring.com? We'd like to provide you some solutions and suggestions that will work well for you and your home's environment.

Posted .Hello DFamily,
We value the experience you have with Ring, and want to ensure the Ring Stick Up Cam is meeting the standards it's intended to provide. It is essential to have peace of mind when it comes to your home security and the battery life in your Ring camera plays a big role in that. The Ring Stick Up Cam is designed to be a DIY home security solution that can be trusted to provide you with lasting coverage.
While the battery in your Ring Stick Up Cam can go months between recharges with normal use. This is dependent on a number of factors in your home's environment such as the local weather, signal strength, and the number of activities captured. The more events captured by your Ring Stick Up Cam, the more your battery is used to power the live 1080p HD video stream to your device. To prevent excessive activity, you can adjust your motion settings to a lower sensitivity, disable certain zones, or change motion frequency to Regularly or Periodically.
The Ring Solar Panel is a great addition to prolong the time between manual recharges of the battery. Ensuring the camera is set up properly within the Ring app and the solar panel is receiving enough sunlight is our top priority. Posted .Hi Steveno,
Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. We know how important it is to rely on solar power to supplement your Ring batteries. The Ring Solar Panel should do just that, with only a few hours of direct sunlight.
In order to function as intended, please charge the Ring batteries to 100% before attaching the solar panel. This is because the solar panel will only act as supplemental power, and will not charge the batteries from 0 - 100%. You should notice the batteries slowly trickle charge up to 10% per day, weather permitting.
We'd love to discuss this in more detail. Can you please reach us when you get a chance? We're confident that we can help turn your experience around.
