Bestbuy doesn't sell a ton of laptop bags, or rather, there isn't a good ratio of "cost to robustness". Having bought another bag and had the carry strap literally rip out at the threads after 3 months, I went for the most "rugged" bag that I could (since losing a $2,000 laptop over a $30 bag is a bad return on investment), and this bag was it. The backpack thing is somewhat annoying because the straps are sewn in, meaning I can't turn the straps pouch into an "items" holder, but the carrying space is otherwise efficient enough to be useful. At the end of the day it's a laptop bag or backpack. It will probably suit your needs, but it's far from designer status.

I purchased this on sale and it carries my laptop but I can carry it as a brief case using the short handle. Using the over the shoulder handle or using the backpack straps. Great bag!

The bag overall is pretty good. The pockets are pretty basic. There's a place to hold two pens/pencils but aside from that, it's just an open pocket so if you're looking to organize your everyday items, it's a challenge.

This bag has an awesome design. I love that the backpack straps can be stored into a zip-up side panel.

So far I think it's a great bag. Holds my 15.6 inch laptop, powercord, ipad etc. with room to spare. Seems pretty sturdy.
