Well padded in the laptop compartment. Adequate compartment under a flap to store pens, pencils, etc. Would have been nicer if the flap had a zipper and the shoulder strap had more padding. But the price was reasonable and it does the job.

It was the perfect t size and offered enough cushion to protect everything inside. We drove from Texas to Virginia and had no problems.
