Customers are saying

Customers are positive about the Ace Wireless Over-the-Ear Headphones with Active Noise Cancellation's sound quality, comfort, and battery life. Many also appreciate the lightweight design and connectivity options. However, some customers feel the bass is lacking and the headphones are not worth the high price. There are also a few comments on the volume not being loud enough, the app needing improvement, and the headphones getting a little warm.

Hobestly suprised by reviews ive seen of people not liking the audio quality of these. I thibk they are fantastic and sound just as good as their main competitors. What sets these apart from the rest are how comfortable they are to wear rot longer periods of time and the tv swap from the arc. Absolutely love these.

Review for Sonos Ace - Black I’m a long-time Sonos fan, I confess. I have their Arc sound bar on my TV with the Sub Mini bass unit, a pair of Era 300 speakers, a Roam, and a Move. Even though that may sound like a lot, these speakers fit well throughout my house and provide great sound and flexibility using the Sonos app. Since Sonos has always been pretty music streaming service agnostic, it’s been a pleasure to be able to add or remove services as times change. I say all this because it’s given me a view into the Sonos ecosystem. I don’t think of myself as a “fanboy” — and there definitely are some pretty hard core Sonos types out there — but I do feel like I have a solid understanding of what makes their WiFi setup unique and special. It was with this background that I looked forward to trying out their new Ace headphones. Right out of the box, you can see the attention to detail: the well-made components, the comfortable headband and ear cushions. The controls are carefully placed to make using them a pleasure. Having as many Sonos components as I listed, it was second nature for me to add the headphones to my system, which was quick and easy. And that’s where I felt betrayed. I tried playing a song from my library within the Sonos app, but it played on my speaker system and I could find no way to switch it to the Ace headphones. I thought I was missing something and started to dig into the documentation more carefully. Using Sonos equipment had never been difficult. What was I missing? Well…something pretty important! These headphones don’t really play nice in the Sonos playground. I’m not sure what the folks at Sonos were thinking, but they work only with the Arc soundbar (and soon, they say, with some of their other soundbars). Here’s the deal. With a quick touch, you can switch your TV sound from the soundbar to the headphones — but that’s all. Cool, but far from being another component in the WiFi system with all its capabilities, the Ace headphones are Bluetooth-only. In fairness, they have great sound, the directionality is awesome, the sound canceling is excellent, and the “aware” setting makes surrounding sounds seem as if you’re not wearing headphones, but I was left with the feeling that these are the orphan step-children of the Sonos family.

A Great Pair of Headphones Depending on What You L

I’m an audiophile and have just about every pair of wireless headphones in the mid ($325-$500) range. I’m certainly not going to compare these to my $800+ audiophile cans, but for that mid-range, there’s a lot to like here. No doubt the materials are higher quality. The soundstage sounds wider than the Bose Quiet Comfort and the Sony W-HYZ?? to my ears. There is a greater separation of instruments. The simple, buttons are SO much better than the annoying swiping motions of the Sony. Noise cancellation is not best in class but very very close. I like them for all their unique qualities and design.

Great sound and amazing isolation. I love using them at work to focus, or at home to watch movies and not bother my partner.

    Boring sound

These are great in just about every way except for the sound. I was really looking forward to them because I have so many Sonos products, and usually Sonos has a very “fun” sound production. Also, I have an Arc set up with my TV. However, as soon as I tried these on the sound was very bland, and the EQ doesn’t really do much to change it. The bass is muddy and the treble is so-so. I will be returning them, as I will never grab these over my earbuds if there is not a big sound advantage. I feel like the “tech” reviewers raving about these got it wrong, while the audio professional reviewers got it right this time around (Hi-Fi review, for example).
