I guess it's time swap out my Alexas for Sonos

Saying the sounds pretty good with a Sub and a Sonos 5 is quite an understatement. I can't think of anything I own now or have ever owned that sounds better - especially for the price, the footprint and the ease of use. All these things working together sounds amazing for music or TV. The 5 can go in the kitchen - a long way from the big screen tv and soundbar and provides tv sound in the kitchen for the kitchen people. What are they doing in there? Come in the Living Room. Attach the Sub to the bar to allow it to use it's smaller speakers for mid-range vs the lows. The recent App release was a disaster but there has been an update and it's much better than it was and will eventually be fixed completely - maybe. Today's date: 20240724

Total game changer for movie watching. We wanted a new surround system that supports Dolby Atmos for the Samsung 75” Q80T. We got the Arc with the sub before our new tv came and even on our older 55” TCL Roku tv it completely transformed our viewing experience. I can totally understand why people spend more money on their sound system that their TV. It completely changes the emotional experience of watching a good movie. I loved the sound so much it made me just want the full experience, so I went back to BestBuy and got a couple One SL speaks to use as surrounds. Set up and adding speakers was really easy with the iPhone 10. We have good wifi so connectivity had zero issues. The Trueplay tuning is really quite impressive. We have a our flat screen mounted off to the side of our living room so theoretically not the best for even surround. When you do true play tuning you walk around the room using your phone like echo location as the system creates various sounds to measure the space. When I was in the furthest corner it actually sounded like there was a speaker in that corner. It truly envelopes the whole room with sound. When helicopters fly about you hear it as the ground rumbles. Sometimes I swear I can hear the friggin dust float through the air in a scene. As a sound system for music it does a phenomenal job for high fidelity music streaming. If you can afford the ARC I highly recommend it. You’ll probably want to an on the bass and surrounds to indulge fully. However even as a stand alone sound bar you will be very pleased. In fact my friend that lives in apartment got the same system. She says she may return the sub because even turned to a -1 her neighbors hate her.

I had the top of the line LG soundbar with Atmos, subwoofer and rear speakers. I thought they sounded great, until they stopped working. I had heard a lot about how good the Sonos speakers were so I thought I'd give them a try. WOW! I'll say it again, WOW! I was blown away by how much better the sound is and how much smaller it is than the LG. Just the Arc by itself has a lot of bass and fills my den with immersive sound. The Atmos really sounds great with sound coming from seemly all directions. I added the Subwoofer and things really started shaking. The bass was tight and deep but not boomy. But this is a review of the Arc so I'll stick to that. It was easy to set up. Has a great app that helps to tune the room for the best sound. Don't worry about the price. If you want great sound this is the soundbar you should be looking at.

I will say that this is my first sound bar so I don’t have much to compare it to, but I can say that I’ve replaced a 5.1 Denon and Klipsch setup with this bar and two Sonos Gen 2s along with the sub. (I decided to go all out) My tv is currently only capable of arc and not earc, I look forward to doing that upgrade later, but with the ease of setup and use of this system with the Sonos app and syncing music streaming services, it has been great! The clarity out performs my old set up, the bass again is clearer but I don’t think as thumpy as my Mirage but in no means a slouch. This system is tremendous. I can hear dialogue like I couldn’t before. I haven’t even used the Truplay calibration and out of the box it’s been great. In short, if you can afford the whole thing, it can definitely replace a 5.1 or 7.1 and save space and look aesthetically pleasing. Do it! You won’t be disappointed.

We purchased a Sonos Arc and Sub to compliment our Sony Bravia OLED television. Originally, we wanted to save some money and we went with a LG 5.1 sound bar with the rear channel speakers. When we realized that the rear channels needed to be plugged into an additional box (not true wireless), we purchased the Sonos and returned the LG. And, what a wise decision that was! The design of the sound bar is nice and looks great under the 77” Sony. Setup was fairly simple and the option to use an optical out is nice. Initially, I went with the optical out because I have 4 HDMI connected devices and did not want to use one of my 4 HDMI inputs for the sound bar. The down side to that was that my TV remote could not control the volume of the sound bar when using optical out. I decided to use the ARC HDMI port and get a HDMI splitter to have the cable box and the Switch run through 1 input. The functionality of the Sonos app is pretty spot on as well. It allows you to stream multiple music services from your phone to the Arc. We will be adding rear channels to our home theatre setup as well and I look forward to integrating our entire house with Sonos speakers. While the price tag is a bit steep, I highly recommend this setup.

We just purchased our second Sonos-Arc Soundbar. This one was for our living room. Installation was easy. It just sits in our Entertainment Cabinet. it does not require a separate remote to use it, as all sound adjustments can be made by the TV remote. Two year ago, we purchased this same sound bar, and had it custom installed into a Fireplace/TV Wall upstairs in our Loft-Entertainment area. The Soundbar comes with brackets for mounting to the wall, and it looks great that way. Both soundbars sound great! We also purchased the Sub-woofer, but the sound bar alone provides plenty of bass for most TV shows and movies. There is no remote required for the sound bar to adjust the sound. Sound options are all found on the TV and operate through the TV remote. So, it is very easy to use.

I'm going to start by saying I'm reviewing this with the sub gen3 and the one's for surrounds. I am no stranger to good audio. I have a $5000 full Infinity system in my basement with 3 subwoofers . I also am coming from last year's big sound bar the Samsung q90r. It was unanimously named the best Dolby atmos soundbar of 2019. I moved that to my bedroom and added the SONOS to my main living room. I'll quickly talk about setup. It can't be easier. The app is very simple and everthing works perfectly. All speakers connect automatically and update. It just works. LOVE THAT YOU CAN NOW ADD A SECOND SUB!!! Hopefully I'll add another soon! Sound quality is Amazing!!! I’m going to compare this setup to the Samsung q90r and the q950r. Both of those soundbars are the 2 best from the main companies in my opinion. LG nrg11 is solid but not as good as those. The Samsung bars are very boomy and have a lot of power behind the sound. My main problem with both is the bass is very muddy and dormant really kick! It is loud off placed correctly though. The bars themselves do atmos just ok and when a lot is going on you lose the depth in the sound and it kind of jumbles in a mess of loudness. Some people may like this..until you here what is capable with the SONOS. The Sonos arc alone has much better spatial audio and a lot more width in the sound. The bar does a great job directing sound throughout the room! Much better than the Samsung or lg bars! Of course those other bars come with surrounds and a sub. So when you equip the Sonos with the sub and a pair of Sonos ones it really shines! First off the arc actually has pretty good bass for just a bar. But the sub is capable of amazing bas response. It weighs almost 40 pounds which most people who know audio will tell you is a great thing! This thing sounds premium. It should for the price right! I like a lot of bass and I have mine on 7 of 15 and this thing pounds! The bass is very clean and has that “hit” I’m looking for. No more messy, bulging boom. Just clean bass that you can feel. 1 sub is plenty loud for any room but With the latest update you can now add a serving sub. This will help create an even more emersive sound and add more thump of course. The surround audio also sounds great. The speakers you get with the normal combo soundbar setups are complete garbage but they do serve their place. The Sonos ones and one sl’s are full blown great speakers on their own. They have great sound fidelity and even put out some bass when asked. The Sonos is so good at isolating they single sound. In movies I’ve seen dozens of times I’m hearing small background sounds I’ve never heard before. In music you hear ever instrument totally separate as if they were all coming out of different speakers. I can’t recommend the Sonos arc full surround setup enough! It is not cheap but it’s worth the price if you enjoy great audio!

My wife and I had date day and we stopped at bestbuy. We recently bought a new OLED tv and I've been thinking about a new surround sound system, our Onyko is just too budget for an amazing OLED tv. The JBL on an end cap caught my eye and ears, sounded good. We started talking to a sales guy and he mentioned Sonos, though he was not super knowledgeable on them. He brought another guy over who had the speakers and knew all about them. While we did not plan on spending that kind of cash, it was hard to beat the sound the demo's they had in the store. Plus Sonos has so many awesome features. I thought about starting with the soundbar and adding on other speakers, but my wife said, we might as well get it all now. I was like, well okay..... like I needed a push. lol We ended up getting the Arc soundbar, mini sub and 2 ERA100's to round it out. They had everything but the EAR 100 units but set it up to ship to us. We were not in a hurry, so that was fine. BUT... they got the 2 ERA100's from another store delivered to our house in less than 24 hours. Just amazing! Now for set up... I spent time here and there for like two days to get this "system" set up and working. They say it's effortlessly, well, there was one big tip I did not know and because of that, I could NOT get this ALL working. The bar worked fine, but the mini sub never fired and I only got one ERA100 working, but that cut out every so often. I was ready to take all this back, it was very frustrating. Decided to check out the tubes and found a video about common issues with Sonos. Come to find out, it is VERY important to make sure your phone is on the SAME wifi network as the one you use for the Sonos system. We have multiple WiFi extenders and my phone automatically switches depending on where my phone is. I checked my phone and sure enough, it was on a different network. i switched it to the right one and EVERYTHING worked perfectly. Sonos includes a quick start guide, but it's pretty much nothing and not really useful. They do so many thing right, why not put the importance of the network in the guide? Would save so many people so much frustration. Once it's all working, it's fantastic sound! just amazing. Of course it blows away our budget Onyko (been a long time fan) away. I am a huge bass fan, so I cranked it up in the EQ and actually I turned it down a hair, it was a little too much. Between the Arc and the mini sub it thumps. But, even cranked up, I do not hear any distortion. Just love it and glad we chose this system. Highly recommend!

Replaced a higher end LG Atmos bar with this one. My LG was constantly destroying my WiFi signals. First off it just blends in . The sound is beyond what I was expecting by far. Having owned other sound bars I thought for sure I would need a separate sub. Sonos has done an excellent job in creating a pleasing bass response . It’s a very heavy sound bar. I’ve always equated weight to performance when it comes to any audio product. Usually the heavier the amplifier the better the sound. Setup is a breeze . The app is very intuitive and easy to use. I have an iOS phone so was able to use the sound setup feature. Also nice to open the app to see that you are recovering the Dolby Atmos signal. My tv is an LG oled that does support eArc . I had issues with my LG sound bar where the Atmos would hiccup during playback of certain movies. The Sonos has never missed a beat. The dialogue coming from this is so pleasing. Very clear and full range. I’m hearing subtle background sounds that I never really realized were there before. As with all speakers I expect this to get even better the more I use it. The bass from this is beyond what I expected. It actually produces a decent amount of bass. Having other sound bars I really expected needing a sub.. The room I have it in is a rectangular design with 9ft ceilings. With my old LG bar I invested in the separate rear surround speakers as I just could not get the feel of any real rear sound. Enter the Sonos arc . I actually do a double take as I think there is sound coming from the now disconnected rear speakers. It actually works really well to move the surround both around and over you. Very impressed as I though I would be investing in a pair of SL’s to provide the needed rear surround. Again like the sub I’m not sure it’s needed. Overall very happy with my purchase and far exceeded my expectations for sound quality. I was an early adopter if Dolby Surround back in the 90’s . It’s amazing how far technology has come to provide such an immersive sound in such a small package.

I recently purchased the Sonos Arc soundbar, and I have to say, it has exceeded my expectations in every way. From its exceptional sound delivery to its sleek design, it has quickly become the centerpiece of my home theater setup. First and foremost, the sound quality is outstanding. The Sonos Arc delivers immersive and powerful audio that truly enhances my viewing experience. Whether I'm watching movies, TV shows, or even playing games, the soundstage created by the Arc is remarkable. The sound is rich, detailed, and well-balanced, with impressive clarity and depth. It brings out the nuances in dialogue, while also delivering thundering bass and crisp highs. I find myself rediscovering my favorite movies and songs as the Arc brings them to life in a whole new way. In terms of design, the Sonos Arc is an absolute beauty. Its sleek and minimalist form fits perfectly underneath my TV, adding a touch of elegance to my entertainment setup. The slim profile and seamless integration make it blend seamlessly with any modern decor. The build quality is top-notch, and the soundbar feels robust and well-crafted. Setting up the Sonos Arc was a breeze. It seamlessly connected to my TV and other devices, and the Sonos app made the whole process effortless. The app itself is intuitive and user-friendly, allowing me to control and customize the soundbar to my liking. The Arc also supports various streaming services and can be easily integrated into a multi-room Sonos setup, offering a truly connected and versatile audio experience. I would be lying if I didn't say that I wished it had a remote for those quick changes for the modes on the sound bar but the app overall is pretty fast. Overall, I cannot recommend the Sonos Arc enough. It delivers exceptional sound quality, looks stunning beneath my TV, and offers a seamless user experience. Whether you're a movie enthusiast, a music lover, or simply looking to elevate your home theater setup, the Sonos Arc is an excellent choice that will undoubtedly impress. It a small investment but you won't be disappointed once you hear it from your TV. It has become the heart of my audio system, and I couldn't be happier with my purchase.

Really nice sounding product. Very well made. Very well packaged. Adding the Sub to this makes a very noticeable difference. I would highly recommend the Sub. Fairly room filling sound with the Sub. I have the Bose 600 on a different TV but no Sub on that one yet. Not much comparison there. Sonos wins. The Bose almost just sounds like good TV speakers to me. I also have a Sonos 5 paired when playing music. Sounds pretty amazing. I also have 17 Alexas working together to play music and those sound almost as good. Yes, I know that's a lot. Those are my three choices for music and the Sonos ecosystem seems the best. If you sit in between the Arc and Sub and a Sonos 5 - you'll be in sound utopia. The App has had major issues but is getting much better and there's the price of all this - so I drop one star - otherwise 5 stars.

The Arc is an outstanding soundbar for the price. I’m not a dedicated audiophile, but I can certainly tell when the sound from a speaker or soundbar is dull and muddy. I previously had a Klipsch soundbar and subwoofer for 10 years, but needed a new one after setting my Klipsch up in a dedicated music and game room. The Arc has excellent sound, clear and crisp without any dull or muddy notes. The automatic callibration for the listening space is easy and quick. I highly recommend this sound bar!!

I have been a Bose connoisseur for a long time and decided after reading the reviews on the Sonos Arc and subwoofer that I world give it a try. Between myself, my children, grandchildren, and as funny as it sounds, my pets; we all agree that the sound produced while watching Dolby Atmos movies is as close as you can get to a movie theater experience without the cost or crowds of a movie theater. You should see my cat if a bird flies the scene. She literally looks up and back as she hears it flying or chirping. My grandson and I both jump at the explosive bass effects of Top Gun or for me during some horror movies like the Nun I jump at the sounds coming from all around or the low bass that comes from nowhere causing me to jump. All in all it’s a great system and I highly recommend it to those theater enthusiast looking for great heartfelt sound that puts you in the movie.

I've had the Sonos Arc for a little while now, and I honestly love it. The sound is super clear and full-movies, music, even just regular TV all sound amazing. The Dolby Atmos really makes a difference, especially for action scenes or anything with a lot going on. Setup was easy, and it looks great under the TV-clean and modern. It also works really well with the rest of my Sonos gear. Overall, I'm really happy with it and definitely recommend it if you want to step up your home audio game.

One of the best investments made. Movies, games, music and overall tv programs sound awesome. By itself, sound improvement is great. Bass is awesome for just a soundbar. Speech improvement can be better since sometimes volume must be high to appreciate the dialogue (also the effects and music can take over dialogue sometimes). This might be something that can be adjusted using the Sonos app. Easy to setup theough the app. Having just the sound bar is quite a good upgrade. Now, for Dolby Atmos content (having the sound bar, a bass and surround speakers), there seems to be an issue where sound gets interrupted for like a second and comes back. This is something that might be an issue of Sonos with certain platforms. It is not bad, but noticeable. Apart from that, a very good soundbar. Highly recommended it.
