The new Sonos Arc is much better than the Playbar. It has Dolby Atmos with HDMI e/ARC. By itself, it is great, but it would be much better if you have the sub + the surround sound. The Arc is reasonable but if you take into the account that you will buy the sub and the surround, it becomes an expensive surround system, although you can do it over time. I still highly recommended it though since the sound is great for both music and movie.

This is the 2nd Sonos sound system that I’ve bought, as an upgrade to my existing wired system. The setup is simple, and the sound is phenomenal!!

The speaker is very clear and powerful. The ease of setup is a plus. The ARC fits into the room very well and not bulky like the playbar.

Sound quality is great. Better than what comes out the TV speakers. Takes some time to get used to since there’s no sub but it does sounds very nice. Connection is easy and don’t have any lag when watching a movie or live tv. Same with music it’s really good.

Increible sound in a sleek package replacing a hometheater system.

This is my third SONOS sound bar. It won’t be my last. Ever since I made my first purchase in 2017 Sonos soundbars have become de de facto front speaker for my surround sound systems. The quality of sound, ease of installation and the lack of technical issues has made this Sonos component an indispensable presence in every room of my house.

Great sound, especially if you get the Sonos subwoofer and Sonos One SL rear speakers. The sound feels the room and offers a wide stage of sound from the front of the TV. I like the fact that you can make a lot of adjustments to the soundbar, subwoofer, and rear speakers through the Sonos app, so you can customize the sound to your own preferences. I also play music through the soundbar and the sound is excellent. I also really like the rounded design of the Arc as it is not "boxy" like most other soundbars.

The sound of amazing! We're have a big'ish living room and the quantity is great. The app is very easy to use.

So far I have nothing but good things to say about this unit except that when I dust it, it's impossible to avoid the touch controls. I can live with that. The voices are so clear even at low volumes. Wish it had a little more adjustability though. Bass, treble and loudness are all you're gonna get.

The unit it's self is very good. I have a hearing problem and this sound system is the best I have heard, not perfect for me but I'm sure with my hearing problem it's the best I am going to get. On the down side there is no remote control for the unit and it's controlled by the ap. which has to be placed on your cell phone. As I'm not and never have been a great lover of cell phones to me it's inconvenient. The unit is expensive and I think should include a remote control.

I have to say I was very skeptical when I purchased this soundbar. I have researched and read hundreds of reviews for multiple soundbars and I just kept coming back to this one. I even was extremely careful unboxing this beast in case I hated it (I mean, come on, if I hate it at $799, it's going back). From the moment I removed my old soundbar and plugged this in, I have had a smile on my face. THIS THING IS AWESOME! It sounds better than the 5.1 system I have set up in my movie room, and all from one soundbar.

Sound is spectacular, app is mostly okay but be aware of what you are getting. As an employee and an owner I can attest: this does not support DTS tracks at all! If you have a DVD, Blu-Ray, and definitely any 4K Blu-rays that have any DTS tracks, you will not get any sound input to this device. You have either A) have a (4K) Blu-ray player or and Xbox that can convert DTS codec to Dolby and output solely Dolby or B) purchase third-party devices from HDFury that are almost the same cost as the soundbar. This does not use Bluetooth, so if anyone told you it did, unfortunately they were misled. It only uses WiFi and does not support Bluetooth, no Sonos device does at this point. If you are an Apple user, great! This product was made to work with Apple. If you’re not an Apple user, you can download the app, but you cannot use the Trueplay feature, which is Sonos’ self-calibration tool that leverages an iPhone’s microphone. These do support AirPlay, but since it does not support Bluetooth, you can’t really cast to this device, say for Spotify. I feel for those who don’t use Apple. You can add whatever Sonos speaker you want to the Arc as surrounds, like the One, One SL, Fives or even the older Play:1, Play:3, or Play:5 as long as the generation you have has support for the current Sonos S2 app. But only two devices will act as surrounds, if you want more speakers, you have to setup additional speakers in a separate group and pair them each (and yes each) time you want use them, with the app. These additional pairs can only be setup as a stereo pair (ugh) and you get stereo instead of atmos. When this works, it’s awesome and it does an excellent job especially paired with the sub and surrounds. If you don’t want to or don’t really have the capability of running wires and mounting speakers and are an Apple user, this is the soundbar for you. Unfortunately, I am not in a situation that will allow to do anything but wireless so it gets the job done and it does it well. My Blu-ray player will not output solely Dolby so I do have use my Xbox One-X, that will output solely Dolby, to watch movies with a DTS soundtrack, which is like half of them, no joke. It’s either Dolby or DTS and those are your chances, so make sure you have an Oppo (if you can find one), a Sony or and LG 4K Blu-ray player that can output solely Dolby. I will not get rid of this setup anytime soon, but had I known the limitations of this device, I would definitely have a completely different home theater setup than I do now.

We finally purchased the Sonos Arc sound bar. Amazing quality for a great price! The quality of the sound that you hear while watching your favorite tv show or listen to music is immaculate. It has a built-in Google assistant as well. It comes in black or white—- we opted for black to match the tv.

Bar looks great, nice base, voice clarity is well above average. I have only the bar at present. I’m certain that when added with the sub and side modules, it will be perfect. I will be doing a system wall mount soon. Should enhance clarity further.
