Condition Did Not Match the Listing
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I ordered this Sonos Arc listed as “Excellent condition,” but it arrived with significant cosmetic issues. It was unboxed, had visible dirt and adhesive residue from a sticker applied directly to the unit, and was even missing a letter from the brand logo. This was far from what I’d expect for an item in “Excellent” shape, especially at this price point. The pickup process at the store was disorganized. It took several employees a long time to process the order due to missing packaging and serial number info, which left little opportunity to properly inspect the product before leaving. After getting it home, I tried to resolve the condition concerns through the appropriate support channels, but communication stalled, and I wasn’t able to get clear next steps. I appreciate that open box items can vary, but this listing felt misrepresented, and the lack of follow-up left me stuck with a product that did not meet expectations. I’ve had good experiences with open box before, but unfortunately, this one has made me much more cautious moving forward.

Don't let Best Buy mail you anything important
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Don't let Best Buy mail you anything important because they will mail it in the Product Box and not a Shipping Box and you will end up returning damaged items. Drove back to the store again and returned immediately and I'll find somewhere else to shop. Horrible experience and huge waste of my time. Folks at the counter could not have cared less.

New Bose?
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I remember growing up and seeing the little Bose cube speakers, and those few friends whose parents had the know-how and the means to get them. I was in awe of the sleek receiver it came with, and if you got the whole kit and kaboodle, the cube speakers could be bent in different directions. Then there was the sound! I was amazed at how much clarity and warmth came from those guys and gals. It seemed like the whole package. Fast forward to today, I’m an adult with the know-how and decided, after years of receiver and wired speakers, to finally the Samsung Q990D soundbar. I chose to spend the money on the Sonos Arc Ultra, Sub 4, and 2 Era 300 speakers. I’ve heard the Era 300 speakers by themselves, and I felt that same feeling I had as a kid listening to those Bose speakers the clarity and warmth really are something special. The speakers have a nice design, and the unboxing experience was clearly well thought out they did things I’ve never seen before that help make unboxing smooth. The app is pretty easy to use it’s a little over-engineered but does what it needs to do. Besides the price which is its only real downside. I’m very happy with the purchase and highly recommend it.

One of the best AIO soundbars you can buy
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Sonos Arc Ultra is one of the best flagship soundbars you can buy under $1000 but lack of features and less accurate sound may make you look elsewhere. The design: the arc ultra looks very similar to the existing arc. It’s a little shorter in height in comparison so it may fit under tvs better. There’s a new bump out in the back that hosts the touch controls now rather than being integrated on the bar itself but overall the look and feel is largely similar. Features: Sonos has added some new features this time around in the form of their new sound motion tech, improved true play and Bluetooth support. It’s nice to see Sonos finally support Bluetooth in addition to the WiFi streaming options but we are still lacking any additional HDMI ports so we’re still taking up a port on the tv which is detrimental if you only have 2 hdmi 2.1 ports with one of them being the earc port. Replay this year comes in two flavors: the original trueplay now called advanced trueplay and quick trueplay which uses the microphones in the bar itself to do the tuning so both android users and iOS users can get in on the fun. I actually prefer quick play tuning even though I use an iPhone and you can still use your phones microphone for part of the quick tuning if your using iOS so it’s the best of both worlds. Performance: the original Arc was already a great performer and the Ultra elevates that performance to another level. Dialogue is much improved over the arc and outside of very poor audio mixes I’ve never had to use the dialogue enhancement feature. The sound itself is very good with good powerful forward projection and a surprisingly wide soundstage due to the virtual wide surround channels. The bar touts itself as a 9.1.4 bar and while it makes an admirable attempt you don’t quite get surround sound. You do get a sense of a 3d bubble but rather than being inside the bubble it’s more a sense that the bubble is in front of you with you being able to tell something like left surround being in a space to the bottom left in front of you. The height channels are very clear sounding and user adjustable in the app for how boosted or not you want them to be but there is no chance of you ever feeling like it’s a .4 system, the height effects are very much centered in the front of the room. The new sound motion tech is actually very interesting. There is a considerable boost to the bass performance with the tech and was even able to make the floor rumble in my room even with the bar sitting on top of the tv legs. I’d actually say that I don’t think you actually need to get a sub to experience bass but getting a Sub/Sub mini will allow you to go a little lower and be a little smoother also freeing up the bar to enhance the midtones instead. There’s only one real issue that I have with the bar and it’s that it’s not necessarily an accurate sound. I’ve played multiple different sources of media that I’m intimately familiar with and while it all sounded really good, they all sounded somewhat off. Especially for higher pitched treble sounds it feels like the pitch is wrong. For most people this probably won’t bother them with how great the sound is in general but it’s something to be aware of. In conclusion, the arc ultra offers a very good mix of sound quality, tech improvements, and features making it one of the best all in one soundbars but there are both more expensive and less expensive bars that either provide more features, better accuracy, or just more speakers and real channels.

My real world experience
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve had the Sonos Arc in my 3,500 sq ft single-story home for about eight months now, paired with a 77” LG G4 OLED in a fairly large open-plan living room (roughly 25 × 30 ft with 10 ft ceilings and hardwood floors). I run it solo most of the time (no Sub or rear surrounds yet), and here’s the honest breakdown after daily use. The Good – Where It Absolutely Shines • Atmos performance is legitimately impressive for an all-in-one bar. Watching Dune: Part Two, Masters of the Air, or the new season of Severance, the height effects are obvious without needing rear speakers. Ceiling bounces actually work in my room (9–10 ft flat drywall ceiling). Helicopters, rain, and flyovers have real vertical movement. • Dialogue clarity is excellent after running Trueplay (iPhone version). I used to crank subtitles on everything with my old Samsung bar; now I almost never need them, even with my Miniature Schnauzer barking in the background. • Music sounds fantastic. Apple Music Dolby Atmos mixes (The Weeknd, Billie Eilish, Taylor Swift) are wide and immersive. It’s easily the best-sounding single speaker I’ve ever owned for music, and I came from a decent 3.1 setup. • Dead-simple setup and ecosystem. Added it to my existing Sonos system (two Era 300s in the bedroom, a Roam 2, and a Sub Mini in the office) in under 5 minutes. AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect, and the Sonos app all just work. • Voice assistants: I use Alexa daily (“Alexa, play lo-fi beats on the living room”) and it’s been rock-solid. The Minor Gripes (nothing deal-breaking) • No HDMI passthrough anymore (unlike the Playbar/Playbase days). I have to run HDMI directly from my Apple TV 4K, Shield Pro, and PS5 into the TV, then eARC back to the Arc. It’s one extra cable, but I miss the old “everything plugs into the bar” simplicity. • Bass is surprisingly good for no sub, but if you love hip-hop or action movies with constant LFE, you’ll eventually want a Sub. • Night Mode and Speech Enhancement are buried in the app now instead of on the remote – small UI annoyance. • Pricey. Paid $899 on sale (normal $999). It’s worth it, but ouch. Daily Use in a Pet-Filled House With two cats and a Mini Schnauzer running around on hardwood, the glossy black finish does show paw prints and dust pretty quickly. I just wipe it down with a microfiber cloth once a week – takes 20 seconds. The upward-firing drivers haven’t collected any noticeable cat hair despite being at dog-nose height. Verdict If you have (or plan to have) other Sonos stuff and you watch a lot of Atmos content on Netflix/Apple TV+/Disney+, the Arc is basically unbeatable at this price point right now. It turned my living room into a legit mini-theater without running wires or adding five boxes. I went in expecting to be underwhelmed by “ceiling bounce” Atmos and came out a believer. Highly recommended – just budget for a Sub eventually if you really like it loud and low. (For reference: LG G4 77” → eARC → Sonos Arc | Trueplay tuned with iPhone 16 Pro | Room treatment = none beyond a couple of rugs and a sofa)

Worth upgrading
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Sonos Arc Ultra is a game-changing soundbar, elevating home theater audio to new heights. As an expert in the field of audio technology, I can confidently say that this soundbar is a serious contender for those seeking premium, immersive sound quality without the complexity of a full surround sound system. **Sound Quality:** The Sonos Arc Ultra delivers a rich, dynamic sound profile with incredible clarity and depth. The integration of Dolby Atmos, paired with its upward-firing speakers, allows for a 3D sound experience that makes you feel like you're surrounded by the action. Dialogue is crisp and intelligible, even in the most complex soundscapes, while the low end is surprisingly punchy for a soundbar, making it suitable for everything from action films to music listening. The advanced room calibration technology ensures optimal sound dispersion tailored to your space, creating a balanced, high-fidelity listening experience no matter where you are in the room. **Design & Build:** The Arc Ultra retains the sleek, minimalistic design Sonos is known for, with a premium metal grille and a matte finish that fits seamlessly into any modern living space. It’s large enough to make a statement but still compact enough to fit under most TV setups. The build quality is exceptional, reflecting Sonos’ commitment to both aesthetics and durability. **Features & Connectivity:** The Arc Ultra is packed with features, including support for HDMI eARC, which ensures high-quality audio pass-through from your TV, and full integration with the Sonos app for a streamlined, user-friendly setup. The speaker’s Wi-Fi connectivity and Apple AirPlay 2 compatibility make streaming music and podcasts effortless, while the voice control via Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant offers additional convenience. If you’re already invested in the Sonos ecosystem, the Arc Ultra can integrate smoothly with other Sonos devices to create a multi-room audio setup or a true surround sound experience by pairing it with a Sonos Sub and rear speakers. **Performance:** Performance-wise, the Arc Ultra is a powerhouse, producing room-filling sound with a level of clarity and directionality that few soundbars can match. The addition of the upgraded processors means that sound reproduction is more precise and immersive. The soundbar excels in delivering an enveloping, cinematic audio experience, making it ideal for watching movies, sports, or gaming. However, while the Arc Ultra offers superb sound quality, its premium price may make it less appealing for those on a tighter budget, especially if you don't plan to invest in a full Sonos surround system. For those who do, the Arc Ultra represents a significant step forward in terms of audio fidelity, ease of use, and integration within the broader Sonos ecosystem. **Conclusion:** The Sonos Arc Ultra sets a new standard for soundbars, blending top-tier sound quality, cutting-edge features, and an elegant design. It’s perfect for audiophiles and home theater enthusiasts looking for an all-in-one solution that offers both stellar performance and the flexibility of integration with a wider Sonos network. If you’re looking to elevate your home entertainment experience, the Arc Ultra is an outstanding choice—just be prepared to pay for its premium quality.

Overall, it’s been reliable, simple, and absolutely worth it!

A must upgrade from Arc
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If immersive sound, flexible control, and speech clarity matter to you, this is a MUST upgrade. The Arc Ultra is a significant technical leap. It not only expands from 5.0.2 to 9.1.4-channel (including a built-in woofer) but also integrates Sound Motion technology, delivering more precise, enveloping audio. Key upgrades like Bluetooth, AI-enhanced dialogue, and Android-friendly Trueplay tuning make it smarter and more convenient.

Great good looking premium soundbar
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Simple Setup: Connecting this to my TV was incredibly straightforward. It was basically "plug and play." Sleek Design: It looks fantastic on the mantle. It’s low-profile and has a very modern and premium feel. The App Experience: The Sonos app is easy to use. Audio Performance: I’m no audiophile, but the sound quality is a massive step up from TV speakers. Dialogue is crisp, and the profile is rich and balanced. The Trade-offs Price & Expansion: It’s definitely on the pricey side. What’s more, if you want "true" surround sound, you have to buy additional rear speakers (like the Era 100s or 300s), which easily adds hundreds to a couple of thousands more to the total bill. The "Surround" Effect: On its own, the soundbar doesn't quite replace a multi-speaker system. You get a wide soundstage, but I’m not really getting that "sound behind me" feeling yet, which is probably expected from a single bar. I have not used the voice control but that's not something I care for.

A true flagship soundbar for audiophiles and home
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Sonos Arc Ultra is a stunning example of what a high-end soundbar can achieve when design and technology come together perfectly. From the moment it’s powered on, you can tell it’s built for immersive, cinematic sound that fills every corner of your room. Setup is incredibly smooth through the Sonos app—connect it to your TV via HDMI eARC, link it to Wi‑Fi, and you’re ready to go in minutes. The wireless integration with other Sonos speakers makes it ideal for expanding into a full surround system later. Sound quality is where the Arc Ultra truly shines. The Dolby Atmos support creates a breathtaking three-dimensional effect that makes movies, games, and even TV shows sound alive. Dialogues are crystal clear, background effects have spacious depth, and the bass feels full without needing a separate subwoofer (though pairing with a Sonos Sub Gen 4 takes it to another level). The automatic Trueplay tuning adjusts to your room’s acoustics, delivering balanced, detailed sound regardless of placement. Even at high volume, the Arc maintains impressive clarity and separation—you hear every layer of music and every detail of a soundtrack. Its elegant, minimalist design also deserves praise—sleek, curved lines, premium materials, and an understated presence that blends effortlessly with any TV setup. It looks as good as it sounds.

Almost good, but didn't work well with our TiVo
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this about one month ago, hoping it would be a noticeable improvement on our Sonos Playbar, which we've had for about seven+ years. Our main appliance for TV watching is a TiVo, albeit an old TiVo (~14 years), but it's HD, and it will be our main appliance until it finally quits. Out of the box, sound with the TiVo was constantly muddy, like static on an AM radio. I could tweak lots of stuff on the ArcUltra to make the sound better, but that required turning off many of that advanced features of the AU, which made this a really bad purchase. Why pay for all of these cool things when you must turn them off for good sound? We mainly watch movies with Apple TV, and for that, the AU was great. But, in order to get the full benefit of the AU, I would be switching on all of the features I just turned off. Way too much hassle. It got returned after two weeks. If you buy this and plan to use it with a TiVo, open it up carefully in case you need to return it, and keep in mind your return window. I wanted to like the Arc Ultra, but it just didn't work for our situation. Overall, I love Sonos. We have a Playbar, mini sub, and seven Play:1 speakers scattered about, and one 1st gen Roam. Overall, it's a very nice system; not perfect, but really good. Caveat: On the question "would you recommend this system," my honest answer is "maybe.". I can't say yes, because it didn't work for us.

Just buy it. Amazing soundbar especially for apts.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Best soundbar and possibly speakers I’ve ever own. I live in a 2bd apartment on the second floor and I was looking for a new soundbar. I owned a Yamaha soundbar paired with a 6in subwoofer but it really suffered with dialog. I always felt like I was constantly adjusting the volume just to hear speech audio. Not only that but it would intermittently lose connection. I already own a pair of KEF Q100 bookshelf speakers that I use with my PC but I didn’t want to use them in our living room. They would take up too much space with stands and I don’t have a receiver. On my computer desk I have a small dac/amp but that wouldn’t work for my entertainment system. So I decided to buy a soundbar. After tons of research I decided to go with the Sonos Arc Ultra and I’m so glad I did. No more constantly messing with volume. Dialogue is crystal clear even with speech enhancement off. Night mode saves me from constant anxiety after 10pm that my volume or bass is too loud. Night mode is great for gaming and movies but not so much for music but that’s okay. The Arc Ultra also has a built in driver for bass and it packs a punch. If you live in apartment, want some rocking bass, but don’t want a dedicated sub then buy this soundbar. You’ll be more than happy. I ended up buying a Sonos Sub Mini only because I love body shaking bass (sorry neighbors). Again night mode is a life saver. It will reduce the bass a bit but the audio still sounds natural. Atmos/Spatial Audio is game changing too! My old soundbar had virtual Atmos but it doesn’t even compare to having dedicated upward firing speakers. It’s so immersive and I’ve been rewatching a lot of old movies just to experience their Atmos mix. Even my wife loves it. Our 4 month old baby also approves. We’re saving up for a pair of Era 300s next. The only thing is that I did have to run TruePlay tuning a few times to get it to sound like I like. The soundbar does get very loud especially when the source audio is Dolby Atmos. Volume levels will vary if the source audio is a different format but when it’s Atmos our volume rarely goes beyond 35. If it’s stereo or Multi Channel PCM it can creep up to 50. Overall I love this bar and plan on buying more Sonos products.

From the moment I set it up, I was impressed with how easy and straightforward the whole process was. Within minutes, it was connected and ready to go. The sound quality is outstanding. Dialogue is crystal clear, the bass is rich without being overwhelming, and the surround effect makes movies and shows feel immersive and dynamic.
